AI is not able to do a song like this, because its power comes from the life of the person singing it, its why when johnny sings it, it carry's more weight the the original song writer only because of Johnny's age, regret of a 20 year old man is sad, but the regret of a man at the end of his live is more absolute, because he does not have the time to fix and build again, its final. that's why something that has no life and no regret can not sing this song, it just has zero impact.

Ok, I'll bite. :) I would argue that Reznor's plight at the time is somewhat equal to an older man at the end of his lifetime. I believe Trent was battling the demons of addiction, depression, and anger at the time of Hurt's writing. Those feelings can absolutely put a "young man" in the mindset of him being at the "end of his lifetime" as well. Whether that be by the drugs, or by suicide. Very similar lyrics to a lot of Layne Staley's songs too, for similar reason.
