We return to our mini-series of Low, with a look at their second album 'Long Division'. Growing up, this was always one of my top favourite albums from Low. I truly adore (and still do) tracks like Violence, Shame and Stay, which just sum up so much of what makes Low a truly phenomenal band. There's a rather stark bleak atmosphere that runs throughout this album, and lyrics that are often difficult to decipher, but we try our best anyway of course.

Alan Sparhawk is currently engaged in a dispute with Vernon Yard/UMG in regards to access to the back catalogue of albums released during their time with them. Considering the importance of this music, it seems disengenous of UMG to not release the music back to him following the circumstances. Love Low! I really enjoyed your thoughts and commentary on this. Do more Low records!
I've always heard this record as a concept/arc album with a beginning Middle and an end... Seeing them live a coupla times back then I consider myself blessed to have witnessed such perfection. 🗿
Long Division is a LOW masterpiece!
I think this might have inspired me to take a new direction.
Min Wethersfield!
