Three issues came to mind. Carb could be running lean, that would be the easiest and cheapest because it just needs to be cleaned. Your valve clearance could be off. There should be a small door on the side you can check this. The engine could also be worn out and needing new rings at the minimum

Jack's small engine was a good source. In addition you can type c.t.s carb kit in Amazon and I believe they have a aftermarket kit out

I have the same engine on weed wacker/lawn mower. When put under the load it does not go to full power. Any idea where to take a look?

With or with no load?
@@PNWSmallEngineandLawn No load and pull the leaver it will rev but under load it will work but it really tends to stall

The carb should have a name on it and the model. I searched for that because searching by the generator doesn't give you anything
