Trekking to Z Point.
Located 60 KM away from Chikmagalur, Z viewpoint is an extraordinary place where you can get wonderful views of western Ghats. The peak appears to be in a Z shape and due to that it is famous as Z Point.
Entry Fees - 50INR at Checkpost + 100 Rs entry fees per person
Best Time to Visit - post monsoon, August to January would be an ideal time to visit Z viewpoint.
To reach the top of the peak you need to cover the 3 KM trek that starts from Kemmangundi Raj Bhavan. At the start of the trek, the path is wide and easy to walk but after the Shanti fall, the trek gets little tough.
Time taken : It took us 3hrs for trekking up and down, with lots of relaxation.
Don’t forget to visit Shanti Falls that comes on way to trek to Z Point. It is located around 1.5 Km from the starting point. Best way to relax between the trek.
Tips
Leave early in the morning, to beat the crowd and heat.
Carry dettol or saltwater for leeches.
Carry enough water.
Try to avoid the rainy season as the road become slippery.
Travel responsibility, please keep nature clean. Carry your trash back.
