At first this song seems grand like you are going to beat Elder Princess Shroob and save the day. It's not until you fully analyze what is really happening ,and see that this fight is for everything you worked so hard to get to. Then it becomes a sad but beautiful peice.
Superstar Saga: Bean steals voice from the Princess Partners in time: Purple Mushrooms invade a peaceful kingdom Bowsers inside story: Civilians become bloated with no signs of a cure or even a cause Dream Team: vacation gone wrong Paper Jam: I have no clue
Paper Jam developers: "A strange book that apparently has Sticker Star in it opens, then two Bowsers kidnap two Peaches! Wait, why aren't you impressed?"
I am not gonna lie, the first time I heard this, it hit me right in the feels. HARD. The orchestra, the piano, and the choir in the back (at least I think I heard a choir). I can already imagine a final battle that has been leaving me with desperation, sadness, and helplessness as I hear this orchestrated version of the final battle against Elder Princess Shroob. I even imagine my own final boss fights in my own world in that head of mine. This, right here, is a piece that I'll never forget. Such an amazing, yet emotional song. I love it.
story of two shroob princesses king shroob was watering spores for new shroobs but he took special care for two perticular ones, his two daughters they popped out of the ground with an hour difference, one was ugly and the other was very demanding, but the king loved them equally. as they were growing up the king taught them different things: shooting energy out of their hands, the shrooboids, their tasks as future queens,… at their adulthood the king was proud of his daughters, the big one was fertile and trained well, the smaller one was beautiful (in shroob standards) and lead entertaining shows. one day the king was dying and elder princess shroob was crying at his bed, the younger one didn’t feel as sad but still mourned at her father’s death. the planet started dying after the king’s death and the shroobs were looking for a new planet to live on until they finally found the mushroom kingdom. at the mothership the younger princess was sitting on the king’s throne to show she should be the ruler, the elder one saw that as disrespect to their father but still sat silent. later inside peach’ castle the younger princess wanted to go introduce her to the mushroom princess first, peach then grabbed the cobalt star trying to use it and elder princess shroob pushed her sister aside and got trapped inside the star, younger princess shroob dusted off her dress and tried to attack peach again and the cobalt star broke. after the capture of princess peach princess shroob recontinued her shows to entertain her people while mario, luigi and the babies were trying to save peach. at star hill the elder princess learned to speak english and tricked the bros and baby bros to collect the remaining cobalt shards. at the top of shroob tower the princesses shroob were mad at the bros for different reasons: ruining the younger princess’ plans and killing the other shroobs. after the younger princess shroob died the elder one knew the shroobs were done for but still wanted revenge on the Mario’s and luigi’s for killing her sister. the other shroobs were happy and surprised to see her return and wanted to help in any way. when elder princess shroob took a lot of damage she used her crown to transform into a monster, she had no longer concern for her subjects, she was blinded with rage against the four bros but she failed and after saying he last words she turned herself into a small mushroom. later at future princess peach’ castle she hopped into bowser’s mouth possessing him as a last ditch effort, shrowser breathed out her spirit and knocked away every attack the bros do to him, unfortunately for him those attacks hit elder princess shroob’s soul ending her once and for all. the remaining survivors got captured and put into the freezing room of bowser’s castle together with the lifeless bodies of their princesses frozen forever in ever ice… the end
You've genuinely outdone yourself with this one. Listening to this reminds me of the time I first discovered you, I'm THAT blown away by how good this is. In particular, the piano for the melody at the lead in was a stroke of actual genius. And you know what's the most amazing part? This track is one I've never looked for a remix for, because it's one that I've believed doesn't NEED a remix. You've elevated a source material THAT MUCH from what is already one of the highest bars I usually set for a piece. This deserves a place on your "Greatest Hits" album. Or at LEAST a "best of 2021" album.
This song perfectly conveys the misery I felt as a kid, going on for 30 minutes in this battle while my DS's low power light started flickering and I had no charger where I was at...
You know, the first time I played the game, I thought the shroobs deserved death, until this battle happens... The music was so sad I immediately knew something was going terribly wrong, for both sides; Mario, Luigi and Peach are doing their best to protect the world they love, and they know that if they fail, everything will be lost, and their friends will die... But the side of the shroobs isn't less tragic, I remembered at this battle something the introduction of the game made clear; there were no stars to support the shroob planet, this means one thing: they were happy once upon a time, until their star exploded, and with that, their planet started to die slowly and painfully... Keep in mind they probably had to see everything on their planet dying painfully, and they had no more opportunities to see the sunlight, I think this is what made them crazy, psychopathic and depressed, because even scientifically speaking, if you don't see the sun for a long time, you could become crazy... That is exactly what happened to them, it's unfortunate, they only had bad luck by their side, nothing more, the despair and the rage when they saw their home dying were corrupting them to the point they are today, and even when they are evil, they still have hope in their hearts; hell, that's why they did what they did, they really were thinking they could conquer the kingdom to be finally at peace, however their corruption made them lose empathy, and this is why Mario and Luigi killed them; They were already dead from the very beginning, what the bros were fighting were nothing but corrupted genocidal parasites... But the question is... Would you be any better?... Probably and surely, no... The despair and the sadness would make you crazy, and that's tragically what happened to them...
Interestingly, at least some of the Shroobs still live. After all, there's that one Shroob in Fawful theater in Bowser's Inside Story, and there are the frozen ones too.
Woah. Even though I've never got the chance to play Partner in Time (while I did play Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story), I've always loved that music. It's one of the few music that you would never expect in a Mario game, pretty much like the NSMB Wii final boss theme. It screams fear, despair and horror. That of both the Shroobs and the Mushroom Kingdom. This music is not as terrifying as Cackletta's Soul, and not as "awesome" (I use quotes since this one is just as awesome but you know what I mean) as In the Final/The Grand Finale, but it is much more dramatic than both. A true masterpiece, and you did it complete justice. Bravo!
the nsmbwii final boss theme is _very_ traditionally mario-sounding though, especially compared to pretty much every other final boss theme in the franchise.
@@symphonyoforder I don't understand how nsmbwii's final boss theme can, in any way, be singled out for not sounding like it comes from a mario game. it's incredibly generic and uses instruments that are super familiar to the franchise.
@@jclkaytwo I myself don't understand how you feel like it's "incredibly generic". There was no music in the Mario franchise that ever sounded similar before. I also don't remember any theme before using timpanis (aside from the Airship... in NSMB Wii), bells (aside from the castle theme of NSMB DS, but that's still only one example). The choir was only used before for Super Mario Galaxy. I do think the organ was a generic instrument for Mario games even before NSMB Wii came ouy, but the others were in no way "super familiar" to the franchise back in 2009, especially not combined this way.
@@symphonyoforder it doesn't have to sound similar to other music in the franchise, what matters is that the instrumentation is incredibly familiar. when I hear the theme I don't think to myself "man, I can't believe this was in a mario game"
This is one of my absolute favorite final boss themes ever, and I’m so happy to see you give it the respect it deserves! Definitely not what you’d expect from a game like Mario and Luigi, but i think that makes it so much more special
This arrangement is..... wow, this is the most beautiful orchestral arrangement I've ever heard in my life, I didn't even play Partners in Time, but damn, this makes me want to play it right now, I guess I'll play it someday, thank you for doing this
I can iminage the roar from elder shroob at the begining before the song begins and how luigi and mario and the babies are now having one last battle and if they lose this battle! Humanity is in captivy of the aliens!
As much as i love the original, this remix truly surpasses it by a huge margin. It really executes that final battle theme so well and I love listening to it
That's an interesting take on this song. It's way more somber than the more "epic" original, but it fits its melody very well. Very well done as always ^^
This Remix aside from not looking like a remix, IT LOOKS OFFICIAL, and to top it off, the theme of this game does NOT look like a final fight...it looks like someone...one is going to die...like a slow funeral while various events and things happen and they make you remember in the game, it's not epic or intense...it's incredible...and sad, if you lose (mario, baby mario, luigi, baby luigi, everyone in the mushroom kingdom dies for them) but if they win the Shroobs, they are extinct forever...elder princess shroob is the perfect description of rage, stress...fear...and madness...because when she is eliminated...and after that silence...he feels...sad. .everything...everything has fallen...more than good and evil, this is the best representation of the Law of survival of the fittest...in a single music...and this remix...is perfect..
This was my absolute favorite Mario and Luigi title and I really wish we could have gotten a remake of this before Bowser’s Inside Story, no disrespect to BIS at all, but I would’ve loved to see this old gem be redone and not only reach a new audience, but potentially a new generation of Mario fans. I just recently replayed PIT, and upon beating the game, I was hit in the feels and this certainly isn’t helping… in my opinion, it sounds absolutely beautiful and is the epitome of remastering an old musical piece. I think that Partners in Time is INCREDIBLY underrated, but I love to see that people do still remember it and are still making things about it to this day. Thank you for this. It sounds absolutely angelic to say the least.
Your arrangement is so insane... I played this game 14 years ago, I remember this battle and this music... That's so dramatic and beautiful at the same time 😌 Thanks for this, keep going !!
Wow, just wow, this doesn't even sound like final boss music anymore! It sounds more like something you'd hear during a turning point or otherwise crucial moment written specifically to invoke hopelessness and/or despair and make the player cry. There's such a haunting beauty to this cover that was never in the original, and it really makes me see the piece in a whole new light...
Oh goodness, I didn't know until now that this theme was composed by Yoko Shimamura. Your arrangement really gives a taste at what the track could sound like in a game like FFXV! Keep up the incredible work!
A beautiful arrangement, and one that brings back memories of how I slogged through that final boss... along with the real meaning behind this battle. Both sides fought with everything they had, with the prize being a continued existence for the future, and the cost of defeat being the end of their existence.... but in the end, only one side would be allowed to walk away from this battle with their lives.
I always wondered if there were other alternatives, for the Shroobs and the Mushroom Kingdom denizens to live in peaceful coexistence. Sadly, the desperate desire to survive can be dangerous. For one to live, the other must perish…
This is beautifully done! Sounds like something you'd hear in a Kingdom Hearts game. Love how well you conveyed the sadness that the original wanted to get across. Very nicely done!
Holy fuck, I’ve been listening to so many different versions of this today and I ended up thinking to myself “these dont cut it anymore”. Thank You for this one!
the first time i heared the original song in the game was epic and very emotional for a little kid of 8 years!! and now this orchestral hugs my heart and says: was a nice memory rigth? this is just so good that can't be real!!!!!!!! thank you for this amazing orchestral!
Honestly, I don't think I've got words for just how hard this piece goes. I wondered about it starting with the gentle piano, but the moment that violin came in? And then the choir in the background? Truly befitting the final fight this plays at~
This sounds as it represents, a war, both sides having hopes for victory and a brilliant future, inmersed in the dispair of the fight where one side will have that brilliant future, and the other will dissapear and be forgotten forever
What's amazing about this piece is how it's melancholic thought the entirety of it. Most final boss themes display how powerful the boss is, or urge you on to victory. This one however makes it clear that no matter who wins there will unfortunately a large loss of life on one of the sides. This is a war for the survival of a species. And defeat means certain extinction. This music isn't meant to make you feel good.
this game haunted me as a kid, it was such a haunting and ABSOLUTELY BRUTALY difficult game there's a part where you traverse through a devestated town and just about every character in the story gets captured or transformed I think I only managed to beat the final boss a few times back then, it was actual hell, I don't remember everything about that game but it was clearly heavily inspired by final fantasy.
This is it, a final battle that is, in truth, higher in stakes than any other through the entirety of the Mario series. No matter who wins or loses, there will not be peace. Either the Shroobs or the Mushroom Kingdom will cease to be. Mario and Luigi are fighting for their very lives, for the lives of everyone on the planet - and they know victory only means their enemies die instead. There will be death, the only question is whose. The Shroobs have nowhere else to go. They are cut off from everything. This planet is their only hope for survival. And yet, their existence would mean the death of kingdoms, harvested into energy for the Vim Factories or brainwashed into servitude like the Hammer Bros. They must be stopped. But the burden of slaying a race is not easy, and yet, that burden rests on the shoulders of infants. It is precisely this forced choice that has made Mario and Luigi what they are.
Hello, I'm from 2022, 2021 was actually more tame, but 2022 just started with Ukraine being attacked by Russia, and now people are thinking there is going to be a WW3
this just made my rough morning so much better (even though it took me a few days to notice this. youtube didn't notify me-) you did this theme so well, and it brings back so much nostalgia of me playing this game as a kid and finally beating it as an adult. astounding job on the arrangement! ^^

Wouldn't it be great if they made a Mario & Luigi game what has Princess Peach as a playable character? She could get character development of her facing her insecurity and fears.
Absolutely beautiful. I was listening songs to remember one of my favorite Mario Bros games, but suddenly, I found this remake that has made me too happy and a bit nostalgic. Thank you very much for creating this masterpiece c:
Lagia Lugia yeah. I recognized the violin. Too bad the Professor Layton franchise is dead now. I had the chance to play only 3 of his games. I really wish I had the chance I had the chance to know him more.
Crazy to think that the Babies beated the Shroobs by themselves, the only reason the game happens its because E. Gadd messed up the timeline by sending Peach to the past, so, they had to rescue her and all of that stuff, for example, Baby Bowser's airship used they only cannon to save Mario & Luigi, while in the original timeline, they probably used it to defend themselves of the Shroobs' UFO
Honestly, this track right here would go hard in a dramatic climax to a movie. Excellent score that sounds both chillingly haunting and dramatically beautiful

You have the best English teacher in the world I assume
I love the analysis on this, man! Fits with the song perfectly :)
At first this song seems grand like you are going to beat Elder Princess Shroob and save the day. It's not until you fully analyze what is really happening ,and see that this fight is for everything you worked so hard to get to. Then it becomes a sad but beautiful peice.
This is exactly what I said. This actually made me tear up.
I audibly gasped when I saw this-
It’s beautiful. It’s perfect.
Superstar Saga: Bean steals voice from the Princess
Partners in time: Purple Mushrooms invade a peaceful kingdom
Bowsers inside story: Civilians become bloated with no signs of a cure or even a cause
Dream Team: vacation gone wrong
Paper Jam: I have no clue
Paper Jam: get real
Bowser's inside story + bowser Jr's journey: wanna see me do it again?! *Dies*
Paper Jam developers: "A strange book that apparently has Sticker Star in it opens, then two Bowsers kidnap two Peaches! Wait, why aren't you impressed?"
Paper Jam: Arise, legend of paper!
Paper Jam: Luigi dropped a book
M&L did Dont Speak Her Name before it was cool
I am not gonna lie, the first time I heard this, it hit me right in the feels. HARD. The orchestra, the piano, and the choir in the back (at least I think I heard a choir). I can already imagine a final battle that has been leaving me with desperation, sadness, and helplessness as I hear this orchestrated version of the final battle against Elder Princess Shroob. I even imagine my own final boss fights in my own world in that head of mine. This, right here, is a piece that I'll never forget. Such an amazing, yet emotional song. I love it.
0:46 The best part. 😭
This arrangement is practically the definition of haunting
YES. This is such an incredible piece. Doesn’t nearly get the attention it deserves.
this song full of sadness, hopeless, beautiful, determination
it always the most beautiful song in my heart...
story of two shroob princesses
king shroob was watering spores for new shroobs but he took special care for two perticular ones, his two daughters
they popped out of the ground with an hour difference, one was ugly and the other was very demanding, but the king loved them equally.
as they were growing up the king taught them different things: shooting energy out of their hands, the shrooboids, their tasks as future queens,…
at their adulthood the king was proud of his daughters, the big one was fertile and trained well, the smaller one was beautiful (in shroob standards) and lead entertaining shows. one day the king was dying and elder princess shroob was crying at his bed, the younger one didn’t feel as sad but still mourned at her father’s death. the planet started dying after the king’s death and the shroobs were looking for a new planet to live on until they finally found the mushroom kingdom. at the mothership the younger princess was sitting on the king’s throne to show she should be the ruler, the elder one saw that as disrespect to their father but still sat silent.
later inside peach’ castle the younger princess wanted to go introduce her to the mushroom princess first, peach then grabbed the cobalt star trying to use it and elder princess shroob pushed her sister aside and got trapped inside the star, younger princess shroob dusted off her dress and tried to attack peach again and the cobalt star broke. after the capture of princess peach princess shroob recontinued her shows to entertain her people while mario, luigi and the babies were trying to save peach. at star hill the elder princess learned to speak english and tricked the bros and baby bros to collect the remaining cobalt shards.
at the top of shroob tower the princesses shroob were mad at the bros for different reasons: ruining the younger princess’ plans and killing the other shroobs. after the younger princess shroob died the elder one knew the shroobs were done for but still wanted revenge on the Mario’s and luigi’s for killing her sister. the other shroobs were happy and surprised to see her return and wanted to help in any way. when elder princess shroob took a lot of damage she used her crown to transform into a monster, she had no longer concern for her subjects, she was blinded with rage against the four bros but she failed and after saying he last words she turned herself into a small mushroom. later at future princess peach’ castle she hopped into bowser’s mouth possessing him as a last ditch effort, shrowser breathed out her spirit and knocked away every attack the bros do to him, unfortunately for him those attacks hit elder princess shroob’s soul ending her once and for all. the remaining survivors got captured and put into the freezing room of bowser’s castle together with the lifeless bodies of their princesses frozen forever in ever ice… the end
Spanish : es una historia de origen brutal
I don't know if I needed this, but thanks for your interpretation of the backstory of the Princess Shroobs :)
Most underappreciated theme in the series, and WOW you did it justice. Incredible work as always.
This captures the somber tone of Partners in Time's final moments so well! Absolutely incredible!
I screamed when I saw the notification, I'm glad that this game it's still remembered!
It's pretty sad how Bowsers inside story gets a remaster but Partners in time isn't remembered by Nintendo rip lol
This song perfectly conveys the misery I felt as a kid, going on for 30 minutes in this battle while my DS's low power light started flickering and I had no charger where I was at...
lmao literally me
You know, the first time I played the game, I thought the shroobs deserved death, until this battle happens...
I've been on TH-cam for almost 5 years and this is the best comment I've ever seen you earned a sub
@@jclkaytwo If we compare to final boss themes after NSMB Wii? Yes. Otherwise, I don't think so.
Us goblins enjoy listening to your songs music man.
Keep up the amazing work!
This arrangement is..... wow, this is the most beautiful orchestral arrangement I've ever heard in my life, I didn't even play Partners in Time, but damn, this makes me want to play it right now, I guess I'll play it someday, thank you for doing this
One dislike on the video... Princess Shroob is still alive !
I can iminage the roar from elder shroob at the begining before the song begins and how luigi and mario and the babies are now having one last battle and if they lose this battle! Humanity is in captivy of the aliens!
This rendition is just gorgeous. Is it alright if I use it for a video? I’ll make sure to credit ya. ^_^
Feel free!!

Go ahead. If ya gonna credit him, than it’s a ok
@@thesergalladaf6902 It's actually "her", not "him"

@@TheNobleDemon this is awesome, I get to use this if I credit you? YES PLEASE!
You are still the most underrated Chanel on TH-cam. This is incredible.
I don't think there's any Mario game out there who could replicate such despair.
The original is a masterpiece. You somehow made it even more somber. I love it.
Keep up the incredible work!
yep, i thought “wow this could fit right into a kingdom hearts boss battle” then I saw the original artist realized why lol
I got so hype as soon as I saw this in my subscription feed, and it is beautifully epic. Outstanding work on this!!!
This is beautifully done! Sounds like something you'd hear in a Kingdom Hearts game. Love how well you conveyed the sadness that the original wanted to get across. Very nicely done!
I was not expecting this, but THANK YOU.
This is so beautiful
Omg yes! But if you create the Princess Shroob battle theme (1st phase), you are a god ! :o
I hope he will be able to do it
@@imperatorneroauaugustus4832 *She
I got chills. So freaking good dude.
0:10 the best part
Yeah, it reminds me of Doctor Who, as if a terrible revelation was revealed!
With the focus on piano, it sounds like something from Kingdom Hearts. Nicely done!
One of your best works so far, loved it
Absolutely amazing. That piano at the beginning is breathtaking
This is one of the best versions I've ever heard of this theme, I legit cried while listening to it.
Thank you for existing!💚💚💚💚💚💚
10/10. YES. Such a fire arrangement! 🔥🔥🔥
this game haunted me as a kid, it was such a haunting and ABSOLUTELY BRUTALY difficult game
there's a part where you traverse through a devestated town and just about every character in the story gets captured or transformed
I think I only managed to beat the final boss a few times back then, it was actual hell, I don't remember everything about that game but it was clearly heavily inspired by final fantasy.
I’m crying seriously, this is beautiful
2021 is the endboss now, 2020 was just a warmup
2021's final battle boss theme.
You know that we are in the 2020s?
Hello, I'm from 2022, 2021 was actually more tame, but 2022 just started with Ukraine being attacked by Russia, and now people are thinking there is going to be a WW3
2021 was just the first phase
BRO WTF😭😭😭 ITS SO GOOD WHYYYYY OMGGG
sounds exactly like the original DS version. Nice job I like how you recreate those choir parts from the final battle of the game. goosebumps!
The day this was made really means something.
THIS IS A VERY GOD ONE THAT I HEARD IN YEARS, MY GOD 0.0
i have acquired chills and old memories of me watching my older sister play this game, this is an amazing orchestral arrangement
this just made my rough morning so much better (even though it took me a few days to notice this. youtube didn't notify me-)
you did this theme so well, and it brings back so much nostalgia of me playing this game as a kid and finally beating it as an adult. astounding job on the arrangement! ^^
This should be in the audio library of RPG Maker. It’s that good bro
Regardless of the outcome of this final battle...
One species is going to die...
Either the people of the Mushroom Kingdom...
...or the Shroobs.
A master piece lost in time.
Thank you so much for making this.
Yo, i'm gettin' SHIVERS from this maaan! I love the Shroobs, I wish they'd show up more.
I wish they could have found a home and been allowed to be free of their desperate evil. Alas they were in to much distress even to wish.
I've always looooved this song, but the DS limitations didn't help to really make it shine. Amazing rendition man
Voy a llorar, amaba la canción original en el juego cuando era pequeño, esto es la perfeccion encriptada en un video🥺
2X 😢😢
Thank you so much for this man it's a vibe
Shoutout to Chris for commissioning this.
"One shall stand, One shall fall!"
Chills down my spine, again and Again and AGAIN. 10/10.
I just hope this game doesnt become "Mario & Luigi: Lost in Time"
Peak is back on the menu!
AMAZING. Please do more from this beautiful game. After all these years the Thwomp volcano and the Boss music is still stuck in my head :P And also, please get your music to Spotify. Id like to listen to this on a daily basis
This feels so much less desperate and more just... broken. :'( utterly beautiful.
That tone is so sad and it perfectly fits with what happened to Alphadream. We will miss you rip Alphadream.
Now this is awesome.
Wouldn't it be great if they made a Mario & Luigi game what has Princess Peach as a playable character? She could get character development of her facing her insecurity and fears.
*THIS IS MASTERFUL*
2:44 in that part it looks like a Zelda Soundtrack
Absolutely beautiful. I was listening songs to remember one of my favorite Mario Bros games, but suddenly, I found this remake that has made me too happy and a bit nostalgic. Thank you very much for creating this masterpiece c:
This is so good! I love this!
Beautiful masterpiece, reminds me of Professor Layton osts per moment
Lagia Lugia yeah. I recognized the violin. Too bad the Professor Layton franchise is dead now. I had the chance to play only 3 of his games. I really wish I had the chance I had the chance to know him more.
@@samyb4566 Maybe there is emulator for these games even for the crossover one, but yeah at least it's ended beautifully. I eve recommand the movie
Ah yes. I knew it would be good as soon as I saw it was from you
Crazy to think that the Babies beated the Shroobs by themselves, the only reason the game happens its because E. Gadd messed up the timeline by sending Peach to the past, so, they had to rescue her and all of that stuff, for example, Baby Bowser's airship used they only cannon to save Mario & Luigi, while in the original timeline, they probably used it to defend themselves of the Shroobs' UFO
so THATS what this was! I swear I kept seeing this under another title in the playlist
Honestly, this track right here would go hard in a dramatic climax to a movie. Excellent score that sounds both chillingly haunting and dramatically beautiful
Okay I officially found my new favourite VGM remix channel. You rock!
This is absolutely phenomenal
the way it begins... its oddly relaxing considering the atmosphere of the battle.
This is amazing! Partners in time deserved more love
