Useless trivia time. If you’ve (n)ever seen the 60’s Cleopatra with Elizabeth Taylor, they did very, very heavy eye looks including a ridiculous amount of glitter. Because of all of the glitter she nearly went blind. There are a few scenes, she’s bathing etc, where very little makeup was used to give her eyes a chance to relax.

The main thing for me... the creators I follow (including you) are not afraid to say when something doesn't work. You, Annette, Angelica, Hannah, Nikki... y'all are all willing to say when something doesn't work for you. Whether it's because you can't figure it out, or it just isn't your style, or it completely stinks... y'all will say so, and I love y'all for that.
My biggest regret is not buying the ABH highlighter “Amreezy”. 😭

The sad part is I bought it used it 2 times and I thought ehhh it doesn’t look that great (back then I had texture) so I passed it on to my sister and I swear every single time she has it on I’m like WHY LAUREN WHY DID YOU GIVE IT AWAY!!! It is so beautiful I should have waited for my texture to go away.

I wouldn't regret not buying that metropolis pallet. There's like 9 shadows that will look identical on the eye. Way too big of a price tag to have so many similar tones. Hell no.

I can relate to MANY of these palette regrets, and I certainly wouldn’t be mad if you bought an “older” palette (such as the artist couture) and did a tutorial or created a video with it. I think everyone gets lost in the hype of releases and has makeup regrets but are still afraid to spend the money on “the regrets” in case something “newer and better” releases an hour later. Seeing someone we LOVE and TRUST try something that we’ve had our eye on (be it new or old) and provide their honest opinion is what we’re all here for! I honestly often prefer seeing reviews on older makeup because sometimes it’s on sale being it’s not longer “new”! ☺️

Omg, I really want the ND Metropolis palette too! It’s such a beautiful palette. It was 30% off for Black Friday but I still passed because I feel like I’ve bought a lot already and it was still expensive.

It took me YEARS before I finally felt comfortable enough to pick it up. I finally got it during this last Sephora VIB Sale (I got 20% off). I will say, if you do want it, I would wait for a sale on ND site, she tends to have better sales on her website and her Black Friday sale tends to be a really good one.
I have both the Gold and Metropolis palette dupes by Alter Ego and LOVE them and the price even more. Highly recommend because I would never spend the ND prices on eyeshadows...

One palette that you mentioned that I actually regret buying it’s the UD Stoned Vibes. I can handle some fall out, but the amount of fall out. To me it wasn’t worth the hype or the money.

The KA nude pop palette is one of my top faves. Every time I use it I'm impressed by it.
I’m truly enjoying your experimentation with your eye looks. I love your videos and hearing your input on makeup products & releases. We tend to have similar tastes and I’ve picked up a few things because of your reviews; you have NOT steered me wrong.
I have the metropolis palette, I was having serious FOMO and I picked it up during the first VIB sale back in the spring. I thought the palette was going to be much bigger, size wise it’s the size of the midi palettes. I have 0 regrets on that palette. The shadows are beautiful and it’s become one of my favorite ND palettes.
I picked up the AC Supreme Nudes palette during their Black Friday sale and I love it. The shimmers are pretty but for the me the mattes are what made me really love the palette. It’s an neutral lovers dream.
As for the older palettes/makeup that still call to you, you could do a once a month (or every few months) throwback makeup video where you use older makeup.

I love the buxom bronzer. I like that it is more buildable and NOT like their blushes. I love their blushes but they're intense.
That Alamar experience is so relatable. I live about an hour from Target, Sephora, Ulta, etc. and have not yet learned to check the stores the products are released in yet. I hope you learn faster than I have. 😂🤦🏻♀️

Maybe Sam could do a video on makeup she regrets finishing up, because I just finished one of my favorite single eyeshadows and instantly regretted finishing it up including scraping the pan to try and make use of the last little bit!
Don't worry too much about the buxom bronzer. It is definitely in my regrets for 2020. I love the blushes but the bronzer not so much.

Oh Sam I feel for you! I made that same mistake when Marlena announced MUG was coming to Target too! I was so sad to learn that she was referring to OTHER Target stores & not where I live in Connecticut 😩.

I can say that Jouer powder is beautiful. I got it back in July and it looks so smooth on my super dry skin. I’ve almost panned it completely and will absolutely buy another one. Also they’re coming out with a translucent shade!

hi Samantha , your eye makeu is exactly how i did mine for many years , i loved Twiggy top model and yes my eye makeup was identical, how i loved my eyeliner , but mine was black liner and crease line the powder underneath was a pale pink , believe me it was stunning . yes being locked in the past as a teenager , i also made my eyeliner like sophia loren

I’m one of those crazy people that watches ALL the videos of any product I’m interested in. My biggest regret this year was not getting the CT Fire Rose quad when it came out. Ended up ordering by phone at the CT LA store, but getting worried because it has not arrived yet. 😫
BTW- the NudePop was my regret for last year. After hearing so much about it, went on a mission to get it. Found it on Poshmark and have to say I LOVE IT!
Not palettes specifically, but I regret not buying the Mac Cinderella and some other Disney collabs they’ve had 😢 to be fair I was waitressing and gurl, I had Mac taste on a not-even-Target budget 🙈 I loved this video!! Yes! I am absolutely already subbed to Karen! I was going tanning for so long so I needed a darker skin tone person to hear reviews from. Sam you will always be my 1st love 💘 ive been subbed to you since 2017!! Plus I'm very into colorful looks now and she likes those as well so thats another reason I like watching her. Love that you're experimenting with eye looks. I've been going bigger and more colourful with my eye look because having half your face covered eliminates having to balance the eyes with cheeks and lips. So ironically I'm using more eyeshadow.. Well except that I only leave the house like once a week 😂. I've been pretty good about impulse control this year. I stopped buying palettes at full price a couple of years ago so it's pretty easy, since I just wait until it goes on sale or there's a promo, usually the urge has passed along with the hype. Only palette I bought this year was the Honey palette at half price which I'd had my eye on forever. I also still eye the Metropolis palette but one it's expensive, overwhelming and a lot of people say there's too many repeat shades and that Gold palette is better for a smaller, better hold and green experience so I might get that one one day, a lot of people love that one. Biba looks nice but not enough shimmer for me. Stl eyeing the Glam too... It's all too much! 🥴

I wish you had posted this video like 2 weeks ago, Natasha Denona had metropolis on sale for Black Friday/ cyber Monday I think like 30% off. I know the hype train is well on the way for it but it is hands down my favorite one in my Natasha collection. So much variety in color and textures, great matte to shimmer ratio. It’s a warm tone neutral with pops of green...I mean I feel like it was meant for you. You really should reconsider! Yes the price tag is hefty BUT you get double the shades, and this is something so incredibly beautiful, wearable and versatile.

Hi Sam! I felt the same way about the Metropolis palette and then I saw a girl on IG,can't remember who; and she thought the layout of the palette was weird, and I thought me too! I find the colour layout hurts my brain; anyway she took all the pans out and reorganized them and showed us how similar the majority of the colours were - and then I didn't want it anymore :)
I think if older pallets are still around and can be purchased,PLEASE keep doing tutorials. People like me can't always get these pallets as soon as most people get them. And everyone has their own twist to doing make-up. So feel free....to help people like me who NEED this. Thanks. 😉
You better get that Metropolis palette! It's so good and you won't regret it! Especially since you've been wearing greens lately. I was able to purchase Naughty Nudes during the sale. I really love it because it's more suitable for deeper skin complexions. I did like New Nudes but, I really like the follow up better! The shade Slippery doesn't even exist to me lol!
