hi sorry for the delay in response ,to answer your question yes i did this job myself at home with no specialist tools apart from the spanner i made. It took about 8 hours to do and was straightforward . You just have to remove a lot of other bits to get to the gearbox bolts checkout FQ101 website for information.
hi, behind the bell housing at the back of the engine is a small rubber gromet remove this and you will have access to the 3 bolts that hold the clutch assembly to the starter ring gear hope this helps
Hope someone can help had to change the clutch release bearing and now starter motor doesn't do anything. I get all the start up sounds and can go through gears 1st and Rev with ignition on but starter does nothing been over the cables loads of times is there something I've missed. Starter did work before
Hi, the clutch basket as you can see does'nt have traditional bolts around the outer edge , apparently it is a press fit into the outer clutch housing this also acting as the pick up for the ignition timing, also the inner clutch has a self adjusting cam mechanism set at the factory so disturbing this is not recommended easier to just put a new complete clutch kit in hope this helps, cheers , Mark.
ema modders It's a bit pointless taking the clutch assembly apart as you can't buy a new friction plate by itself. The clutch comes as a complete assembly including a new flywheel. It is possible to take it apart (I used a pneumatic chisel to remove the cover) but reassembling it with the self adjusting mechanism set correctly is tricky.

I'm not a technician but I have many experiences to maintain my previous cars.
My actuator wore right through the arm. I'm in the process of changing this whole assembly now.
