Basic info: The show is a pretty popular talkshow here in Germany. With different guests each show (of course some guests appear more often than others). Chin Meyer is not a regular guest , and to be honest, he is not that well known in Germany. But his analysis / explanation of a financial bubble is spot on here.

AS a German, it only needs a Scott to learn about, what i never new and get to know, Chin Meyer never heard of, but brilliant

Dirk Müller, who sits opposite and is asked about the satire, is a real financial expert.

The Markus Lanz Show is a quite popular talkshow about politics and society topics, no satire involved on a regular basis.
Dirk Müller (the other talking guest) is a financial advisor and like all of them considered an expert by many, a moron by others.
Chin Meyer is a mostly unknown comedian with good humouristic qualities as seen here.

This isn't even a comedy show. It's a popular talk show with celebrities, often from politics and business.

Yes.The man he called "Markus" is the moderator (For example you see him at 1:04). His name is Markus Lanz and the talkshow is named after him. The show is within the week almost dailey (with a summer and a winters break) and tries to always point the most current thematics of german republic and society. (So what does have the most headlines at the time basically).

The man "reacting" at 6:30 is Dirk Müller (Formaly known as "Mister DAX"). He was an expert at the german stock exchange that time. In the meanwhile he wrote a few books, manages a private fonds and does financial and socially reactions and analyses on youtube and a private website called "cashkurs"

he basically described, what wall street did with home-owners after the Bush administration promised every american should own a house and Uncle Sam would give them a good start with an insurance of the credit they needed. That led to credits dealt out to people who would come into financial trouble very soon be it by one of them losing a job, a baby coming, a small economic crisis etc.
The concept was to strip the risk from the mortgage, bundle it and sell it to the investors as an 'intelligent' new product.
A central bank director once explained me why it's not possible to outperform the markets and that whenever someone creates a new product, possibly one which is so complex that nobody really understands how it works, someone else is flying to the carribean to an offshore bank with at least 50 million in a briefcase.
Well, with the concept above the two 'inventors' from Goldmann-Sachs earned them two Wall Street 'Oscars' for the best innovative financial product - and then the pile of unserved mortgages would tsunami the global markets.
He's making rightfully fun of certain 'banksters' who didn't realize what they were doing just to show off a good record ...
I asked my clients not to buy those products ... ;-) thanks to that talk with that central bank director

I hate this show. It's mostly about the host of the show promoting himself. But sometimes the guests are stealing the show. Like this one. (btw, I never heard for Chin Meyer before or ever after again).

In the end, isn't that how satire always works ? You take the truth and then you just exaggerate it so that it sounds funny but you know the truth lies beneath it. And then often after a while you find out that the real truth is even worse and you can't really exaggerate it even more.

Chin Meyer isn‘t too known in the public. This Lanz Show appearance is legendary though… it s that brilliant and went viral, of course.
The other guests include 2 very popular finance experts on german tv. The Müller guy speaking at end is the stock market / economy guy on german „bbc“ and the other is doing a reality soap format on the german „itv“ were he helps everyday people in serious financial trouble.
If they nod their heads and this Müller is a serious analyst, you know this shit is real talk

Your outro here says it all. I feel for you, truly. Your initiative was fantastic, but, as you know, your passion has waned. You need a break; you look worn out. They love you. I love you. But: Take a break. German humor (like yours) can't be celebrated every day. You know this, we know this. Don't push yourself. Don’t be a clown for the German audience. Think about the next right step for you.

I was SOOOOO hoping for this one!!
I did acctually visite a small show of chin meyer live and got the chance to talk to him afterwards (It is maybe one and a half years ago). It was at the same time i started following you, Mert.
I told him that there is now a trend of international reactions on german content on youtube and he should maybe think of subtitle his content in english. I hope he and other artists did recognize it now and other artists will do as well. Especially german Kabarett is a great way to present german intellectual way of live to the world.
I hope this trend will continue so people from other countrys can consume different artists and get a more direct view on other cultures.

Chin Meyer is sadly not the most famous artist in germany like Volker Pispers, Urban Priol or nowadays Bodo Wartke is. (You may have recognized in some other comments here).
Nethertheless he was a guest in the show "The Anstalt" a few times. One very good episode which i recommend as soon as it got subtitles is the episode from october 2014 about taxes (mostly about neoliberal tax myths so not only interesting for german system). In this episode Chin Meyer fullfilled the role of the Tax auditor "Siegmund von Treiber".

Always wondering a bit, why you pick up such (very) old (here ~11 years) old satire snipplets.
    M. Lanz is one of the "popular" talk shows. C. Meyer is a very "special" (absolutely no negative connotation) cabaretists with financial focus.
Interesting (but "fitting") that Dirk (of DAX) Müller is also part of this "show". He D.M. is said to be one of the most popular crash prophets regarding financial subjects.

This particular show is pretty old, idk exactly but somewhere between 2008 and 2011.
The other guest who opined on it, Dirk Müller, used to be a financial expert at the time and quite insightful. Then a bit later (2013-ish) he lost his marbles and turned into a professional conspiracy theorist living in Mumbo-Jumbo-Land. Shame, really.

It's a great and very popular video - but please watch never again something from this show 😹🙈 It's a totally pointless talk show with an incompetent host and guests who think they're important and are desperate to get their opinion off their chest on some topic or other - often extremists and fuddy-duddies or untrustworthy politicians who just want to get their politics across. - It's a talk show for our older community. - But yes, this one excerpt is great.

@@KTanit So Mert constantly asks his viewers to write in the comments whether we like something or not and what we would like him to watch. And as a viewer, I tell him what I would like to see. I also try to prevent him from watching unnecessary things that he won't like because, logically, he doesn't know his way around the German media landscape. - I've also never heard of any censorship involving the word "please". - And do you think your provocative question has made the world a better place? It just costs me energy and nerves.

Markus Lanz is a well known talk show host and a man without manners. He is famous for interupting his guests if they dont say what he likes to hear - and that is the government approved narrative of things.
I never heard of Chin Meyer yet, but what he says there is pretty cool. And even the financial expert agrees with him.
