I changed my mind 😢. I been messing with it all day and I can't add video sources like before. The only video sources I can use is whatever is set up on the prism lense. The UI was better prior to the new update😮💨

Kudos to Prism for really focusing on making it work right. If they eventually add OBS plugin support, the sky would be the limit. There are some really great, intuitive, features built right in that give it a real edge.
Oh so does this mean that they havent accepted OBS plugins yet?

Thanks for presenting this OBS alternative. I had wasted a couple of days trying to find a way to draw/annotate on my screens in OBS but Prism has this feature by default and it works! I don't live-stream so I wish more tutorials would cater for those of us who just want to record and edit in another application like DaVinci Resolve. Not all of us are gamers. By the way - the background removal/replacement looks awful for my setup - just horrible around the edges of my talking head.
Very nice! Tried Prism, and it had the BEST tools... But was a bit heavy on my old lap. Now it will work better!

2) Are OBS Collections and Scenes compatible?
3) Is there a "Scene Transitions" feature like OBS?

2 Yes except for plugins but they are working on getting OBS plugins to work in Prism
3 Yes there is a Scene collection feature.

Always great videos, Michael! When I click virtual camera it just says virtual camera is in use, but doesn't show anything. What has happened to that function? It it now part of Lens? Thanks.
Not using it yet, but looking at your video gives me reasons to strongly consider to switch from OBS to Prism. I would love to see more in-depth material.

Looking at your past videos, I remember seeing how you used a green screen in OBS but you had a lot of difficulty with your hands and during movement. This Prism looked way better when you put your hands up. Does Prism allow you to loop your own background video or do you have to use there templates I wonder? Also I see some comments on the live stream, but nobody really stated what was going wrong in Prism live?
You can use video in the exact same way you would in OBS
What I'd love to see more then the customisation is how you work with audio settings, Global audio settings, so that we can have music on stream and not have it appear on the VoDs! Do you have a video on that? :) Downloaded the software last night to give it a try, and it seems super simple and im excited to give it a try!

Need more updated videos. Most of these methods have updated versions making these hard to follow. Definitely one of my favorite pages I’ve found for information though.
returning user I been using it for 2weeks now and love it even my multiple outputs feature plugin work with it that was a plug-in that was on my OBS dock-able windows custom windows performance is way better this was a much needed update 🎉

Love your videos. I do have a question. I dl prisim and for some reason all the stuff is in Korean or something. No where on it does it show how to change to english. I am a beginner and still learning obs which is a pain in the arse. I mean I should not have to watch 50 videos just to stream, see chat and alerts etc. I know its me to old maybe. lol Anyways if you can explain why prisim is not in english?
When you install it the first thing is the language dropdown to select english. You can also change it in settings I believe.

Question - can you set up scenes in laptop app with custom artwork and then access them in mobile app for live streaming remotely?
I am curious have they removed the watermark features now? I looked up ways to remove it before even using Prism because i heard it was there but i can no longer find the options to remove it.

I sent an email addressing this issue. A watermark that appears maybe once an hour during a live stream for a free product is reasonable. However thats not the way its set up, and it appers there isnt a way to remove it ATM. I really hope they address this issue quickly.

Yes you can restream it on 2 platform at the same time.

I installed Prism Studio for my game streaming yesterday. But in this case, I am using serious issues what I never faced with Nvidia Geforce Experience Broadcasting feature. My Internet Speed is good (around 40 Mbps Upload Speed), so I always use 10 Mbps, 1080p 60 FPS for my streaming with Nvidia Geforce App and it runs buttery smooth. Obviously, Nvidia Geforce has some limitations which pushed me to look around for some other softwares.
I liked this tutorial so much that I tried Prism Studio with the same game & same setting (even I tried lowering Bitrate to 6-8 Mbps) and CBR & Nvidia NVENC H264 selected in the encoder (NVENC H265 is not working at all and it keeps dsconnecting in every 5-10 sec). The quality of my stream was pretty good, but streaming was too laggy. I don't know why is it not working? What am I doing wrong with this software?
I like the features on this. However, I rarely do live recordings so I like to do recording only and there's no pause button like there is on OBS. I saw the pause recording in the hot keys but when I used it, there wasn't any pause at all.

As twitch streamer I'm always looking for a better software. Especially since obs is messing up for me recently. I will set up prism and try it next week. The camera is a plus. Since I currently use zoom for the green screen.

Great video!! I’m having a problem with recorded videos, I have the output set for .mp4 but then there’s no sound on the video. There is sound if recorded as a .mkv I have done nothing to the settings and it worked fine last month. What could be going wrong or what setting am I missing? Thank you.

When I installed prism the on the last update. I noticed that is recognized my install of streamfx. I wonder if other OBS plugins can be installed as well. Move filter would be a nice one to have.

I began using prism live for mobile on your suggestion a couple of years ago and now I moved over to the desktop version as well, and this is great news. I get a message that my video processor cannot handle the program sometimes but I'm able to stream with zero issues and its on a 2018/19 Dell G3 Gaming laptop that is pretty nice. Not sure if I have something set incorrectly. I went thru your setup video for streaming and I can't figure it out. It's not causing any issues I just see the message when I open the program.
Question: does Pause/Unpause even work? I've set the hotkeys as I would in OBS, but it never works, and I don't see a pause button either. I prefer recording over streaming (usually with art), and pausing is helpful when I don't want to stop recording, but may get interrupted (by cat). While I can work around that, I hate having several clips vs one whole video.
IS there a way to nest scenes in Prism? I use nested scenes to switch cameras in OBC.
Hey Michael, I am having a weird issue with Prism, when I have the Prism window out of focus, the recorded footage and the scene preview becomes a slide show, any Idea on what would cause this? Ive been tinkering all night and have not been able to figure it out.
Hi, is there any way I can make the entire window smaller? It does not give an option like with any other window to make it smaller. Even if I click the little square top right. I think I am locked in somehow.
I've been going through your prism vids, is there any way to add different platforms to the phone app? I wanted to hit rumble, and kick, prism only offers band, TH-cam, Facebook, twitch and a couple other places I've never heard of. Been going over and over your vids to set prism up for streaming, they are soooo helpful.. I'm just stuck on the limited streaming avenues.
I have an issue with prism live chat on YT. To be clear, before the update, I had no issues.
What happens is at some point during our lives, the Prism live chat gets out of sync with the actual YT Live chat. It gets "stuck". I have re-installed Prism, and still have the same problem. Just happened about an hour ago.
I can remove the live chat during the live, then re-add the source and it starts working again. Any suggestions on how to fix this so it stops happening?
I like it. In fact, I find the "Source Record" plugin seems to work better in Prism than OBS. In OBS, if you have an active Source Record "Replay Buffer" turned on, you cannot close OBS. The only issue I'm having with Prism right now... and I'm on the very latest release as I type this... is that it locks up if you change scene collections.
I am currently playing around with Prism Live Studio and i noticed or shall i say. I havent found a Feature like Activity Feed. So Prism doesnt have a Activity Feed for when someone Follows/Subs and so forth for Twitch/YT?
I loved using Prism the first issue.. However I could never figure out how to bring Stream Elements into Prism.. Is that Possible now?
Yes. It’s the same as in obs. Browser source.

@@MichaelFeyrerJr For Information: In my case (Germany located) I can only have the newest version when downloading it from the website and installing it (re-installing over the old version). Its not possible (yet) to update the newest version over the Windows App himself. I dont know if this would be fixed but at the moment you have to download the newest version from the website and install it over the old version. Now I have the newest one and it looks fantastic!

I actually got convinced to switch to Prism and leave OBS behind. I did discover something with the current version and I am not sure if it is a bug or if I've done something wrong. Basically, I've set hotkeys for start/stop recording which work perfectly fine but the ones for pause/resume recording won't work. I don't know if I've done something wrong or is bugged. But I love prism so far 😁

I already switched last year. However, I am not a streamer either, I use the tools for customer workshops and training recordings. I think it's great because it's so simple and easy to set up. You don't have to download 1000 plug-ins like you do with OBS. Ideal for my purposes.

That isn’t a built in feature. However there are ways to easily do it.

Im running a Mac mini M2 and an iPhone 15 Pro Max for a web cam. For some reason I can't get Prism Lens to load my preset, tried doing the app over wifi method and same thing, can't get the two to link up.

Yes. prism has a virtual green screen built right in with prism camera.

It still lags, sometimes randomly turns my stream off but the button says its still streaming. Buggy mess. Switched back to OBS

OBS studio is still the best streaming software by far. I have been testing prism and Streamlabs both recently for kick. Prism Audio Mixer seems broken, how do you delete the default audio sources. I don't want them. The thing about OBS studio that makes it far superior is the live streaming information about your bitrate, the light that changes color when it drops. The way you can change settings to fix lag and drop outs so you don't actually disconnect. Streamlabs just disconnects i noticed. Prism doesn't always disconnect but it gives me that annoying exclamation point every time there is drops, they need to implement something similar to obs studio. I do like everything else about Prism, just that , and the audio mixer need to be fixed a bit.
Default audio removes the exact same way as it does in OBS.
I use obs studio for pc but prism for mobile is awesome. I can use multi stream and don’t have to pay for anything it’s a great app for mobile.
I like it but I have noticed the updated Prism Live does not accept NDI Plugin. Please help!

For Facebook use, please allow permission for Prism app under device settings>
Privacy settings>tracking
Off the Prism Live app is not in the track list, turn on “allowed apps to request to track. Then restart app!
