Flame throwers are not considered a "firearm" under American law which I find hilarious and ironic and I love it
I think it has something to do with allowing people to use weed burners in more agricultural-focused areas. Like how in some areas, you can use a special permit that allows you to drive short-term on the roads with farming equipment if you aren't legally allowed to drive a residential vehicle.
It is a "destructive device" so you need all kinds of permissions from the government to own it

@@XYZdude00 Except the part where Gavin stated in the Off Topic Podcast that its a modified weed killer, and you can see in the video that its featured in that its just a propane tank with a modified nozzle to release more propane gas than intended. So there is no napalm in the stolen item.
The thing is we don’t know if Gavin ever called the police. He was treating it like it’d be a hassle. Whenever Gavin says he’s going to do something in that tone of voice and starts asking “can you even” he also ends up not doing it. A few months are going to go by and

People going on about the legality of flamethrowers are forgetting one major thing. This is Gavin we’re talking about. He can’t word anything properly. In all likelihood, what he had was a weed blowtorch. About the shape and size of a cane wit a small propane tank on the curved end and produces a small flame on the other. Meant for burning the roots of weeds.
Well, I think he's refering to the one he used in the SloMo Guys video, which was a little more that a small flame.
Flamethrowers are legal. Not enough people have them to cause enough of a fuss to get them banned.

Fun fact: there are no Federal laws regulating flamethrower ownership in the United States. The only States in which they are restricted are California and Maryland.

Owning - let alone making a makeshift - Flamethrower is not legal in the UK, if he told the police I'm more than sure they would not pay attention to the robbery but to him making the thing. (But also, it's Gavin, I'm sure he didn't tell them because he's stupid, not because fear of punishment)

Collin Skone They didn't really use flamethrowers in Vietnam, they used napalm. Those are very different in effectiveness. And it wasn't very effective in 99% of the time and was used only as a last resort, which isn't portrayed correctly in media about ww2.
