    You did a great job with this tag, Priscilla. For the record, I consider your Elizabeth Gilbert video to be among your best.
    Controversial topics have a way of attracting bombastic opinions, so it’s refreshing when courteous people like you wade into those murky waters.

      Thank you! I was glad the Gilbert video generated some good discussion, which was what I hoped for. 😊

    Of course this was fun!!! You are fun!! I like the tag video's. Great way to get to know ya. Kelly is also a pleasure to follow. Both of you very kindly respond to (ahem) my chatty comments.
    Slow reading month 😔 I hope to get in some reading time this weekend as of course my weekends bring on the rainy weather here in New England! Anyway, I like the books you talk about and enjoy your personality and sweet laugh. Glad you have joined the booktube world for our viewing pleasure. Take care.

      Thank you so much, Marcia! And I love your chatty comments and hearing about what you are reading. It's one of the best things about being here!

    You are doing amazing if you’ve only been here for 6 months! Review videos is such a smart idea. So glad you got around to do this tag! 💛

    I appreciate that you take the time to reply to your comments. I would feel acknowledged even if you just left a heart but you go the extra mile with a response.
    I watch your videos not just for the books but also for your personality. You mentioned that your Barbie video wasn’t the highlight of all the videos you’ve created. I have zero interest in anything Barbie-related and yet I watched your Barbie video, knowing that your personality would make it worth watching, and I was rewarded. You being you is what makes this channel. Keep on keeping on.

    Your success isn’t luck. It’s your being funny and smart and engaging. I will
    do the tag. Thank you. 🌸

      Thank you, Sonya. 😊 Definitely one of the coolest things has been the evolution of our connection from Twitter through all these platforms. I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

    Has it really only been 6 months??! I enjoy your channel -- appreciate your thoughts on books (even those I'd be unlikely to read) and I appreciate your fun and quirky personality! It's refreshing! I haven't been watching youtube as much lately-- no reflection on your content, I've just been busy and burned out lately (not that my lil 'ol views count for much lol!). I agree that your Elizabeth Gilbert video was one of your best. Looking forward to your fall/winter content -- and I would love a debut author video! I always love "discovering" a great new author!

      I'm so glad to see you, Liz! Thanks for your kind words. Everyone needs a break now and again, but I have wondered where you were! I will definitely pull together that debut author video. I think it will be fun!

    I've just discovered your channel and really enjoying it, we seem to have similar taste and I've already added a few books to my hefty TBR. It's nice to have that conversational tone to vids too ☺️

      Welcome, and thank you so much! Yes, the over burdened TBR is a danger of TH-cam!

    I always wonder about people who are frequent commenters for a while but then they disappear. But there are so many reasons; there's just no way to tell. I think the common thread with everyone who has done this tag is the value of comments and responses. We are crushing the gray hair algorithm; we're about to really blow up any second now. 😂 I enjoy all of your content and thank goodness it's not all about the newest thing. I need to know about the backlist and the lesser known finds, too. That time some people left it probably wasn't about Trump at all, it was our extended conversation about the Butthole Surfers that drove them away. Sorry, not sorry.

    • @EveningReader
      @EveningReader  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      New idea for channel: us randomly talking about the Surfers. It'll be huge. Two gray-haired power players taking over the Tubes. 😂 You know I would have tagged you if you hadn't already done this one. I'm glad you're here and that I found your channel!

    You can signal to TH-cam that you're not interested in the kind of content the algorithm is displaying.
    Point your mouse to the white space to the right of the video title.
    Click on the three dots that appear and a menu appears.
    "Not Interested" is one of the choices near the bottom of the menu.
    I discovered the three dots by accident and now I use them all the time.

      The TH-cam Home Page been acting strangely recently I do the same thing to tweak recommendations, but I’m beginning to suspect it has about the same effect as “close elevator door” buttons.

    I don't think your Elizabeth Gilbert video was a mistake--it spawned a lot of great discussion. My worst mistake was using the wrong name for an author...repeatedly.

    • @EveningReader
      @EveningReader  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ha, I had to do that Demon Copperhead video a few times because I kept saying "David Copperhead" or "Demon Copperfield." Sometimes we can't help it!

    Enjoyed your responses to the Tag. I would certainly miss you if you left Booktube. However, if it stops being fun or it becomes too demanding, you should definitely stop.
    Regards,
    Kay

      Thanks, Kay. I've got no plans to stop in the near future, but I agree...if it's not fun, it's not worth doing anymore.
