Very few of these fighters used sound analysis in their picks; it's largely, "I like X better," or "I know X better," or "I am older like X, so we veterans have to stick together," or "X if my friend, so I have to pick him to win," etc. Largely just silly opinions, with little to no neutral thoughts or analysis go into WHY they pick X or Y to win in a highly competitive fight between two elites...

Something tells me this fight will play similar to Dariush vs Gamrot. Very technical on the scrambles and the grappling, where Dariush prove to be superior.

2-4 years ago, Armand had little chance.
Today, Benny's is a bit too old. Exceptional as he is in the scrambling and in BJJ, so is Arman.
Arman is actually a truly elite all arounder. He doesn't have the elite wrestling of Gamrot or Islam, the elite BJJ of Charles or the elite striking or boxing like Gaethje, Dustin or Fiziev. But Arman is good to VERY GOOD everywhere and he also is about 7 - 8 years younger than Benny.
The most glaring negative both Fiziev and Arman have are their lack of height: around RDA's height was okay 8 to 10 years ago; but today elites are usually around 5'11", even at 155... so Arman and Fiziev compensate for their shorter stature by adding bulging muscles to their frames; but that does nothing for their inability to do comfortable/efficient high kicks.
And Fiziev is a very elite kicker/Muay Thai guy. But, again, being only 5'8", he just can't do those natural leg throws that guys from 5'11" to 6'2" like Islam or Leon could do, with their longer legs.... at 155 and at 170...
Love Dariush but Tsarukyan will win...

I’m rooting for Armen. I wanna see some new top contenders fight for the belt. They need all the push since Gaejthe, Poirier and Charles aren’t fighting down anymore.
Charles hasn't fought up the rankings since he beat Tony Ferguson, and Gaethje did at least take on Fiziev. I definitely wouldn't complain if we got more activity out of those three, though.

He has a good prospect, but unless both Charles and Islam quite 155 or die, there is zero chance Arman is becoming champ at the end of 2024. He's only what?, 27, so he has 3 years left to get to the very prime of the 155 division... so he shouldn't rush like he's marching into his twilight like Been, Dustin, Justin, Chandler, Usman, Colby, Belal, Burns, WB et al in 155 and 170.
Promising guys like Arman, Fiziev and Shavkat & JDM, at 170... they're only between 26 - 29. They all have at least a year or two to reach their prime, 30 - 32 or so. They shouldn't rush against the leaders of their divisions now, leaders who also have just entered into their very prime, 30 to 32 or so (like Leon, Islam, Charles et al).
Luckily, for both up and comer elites at 155 & 170, almost the entire To 5's, except the two respective divisions champs, are guys around 35 or older... some entering their MMA twilight (Belal, Benny) and others exiting it (Burns, Usman, Colby, Wonderboy)... so within 1-2 years, ~90% of them are gone from both 155 & 170.

He will never become champion with Islam and Olives still there. And even when they’re gone, Usman is ready to take over from Bellator.
