- Bernie Traurig teaches one of his favorite exercises, the 'Winkler Gymnastic' developed by German Show Jumping 7 time Olympic Medalist, Hans Gunter Winkler. This gymnastic line is designed to improve a horse's agility, form, rhythm and balance and a rider's position and balance. This video is for any equestrian rider training horses for show jumping.

Excellent exercise. I will use this on some of the youngsters I am currently training in CA.(central America) Thanks B...Still delighted to go back to my equitation upbringing in US. I think it has always given me insight into detail. I remember you from the 1970/80 as a show jumping expert. You made an impact,
. . .

Love it. Very good for improving horse technique and also rider's.
Great seat and soft hands, thanks for the video 😍
Great grid, thanks. Just thinking about adapting this for different levels, I guess it could start with canter poles instead of bounces and the middle fence set as a cross-rail, and build from there to the point shown above for more advanced riders.
So trying this! I did the bounce and jump already but hope to add another bounce after the jump :)
Awesome combo - I love those more than anything. Perfect for turning a sissy horse into a brave horse too. Start small and build up. Great post, thanks again guys.
It's just a basic bounce-oxer-bounce line??
what are the distances?
pls give the grid distances ......
He was my father's cousin, I only met him once at my grandfathers funeral.. I wonder if Sheryl Sick knows about H. G. Winkler or Debby Malloy Winkler, Sheryl used to be a former neighbor and friend her father served in the 11th acr as a major.. She's some type of polo champion, snowboarding,.. If you know her, tell her I said hi,it would be nice if she could send me a friendship - request on Facebook, I already did, but she probably mistaked me for some weird stalker or something like that,.. I bet all you riders know each other, so just let her know I said hi, ask her if she can contact me somehow, because Germany isn't really my thing, I want to grow pot and have horses around me in Oregon,.. Lolz,..no seriously, I'd like to leave Germany for good,..
