Yep, it flies heavier than the 70mm, but it has a lot more scale detail. I’m not a fan of flaperons; drooping the ailerons can lead to tip-stalling and it can also cause adverse yaw. I’m not into tailerons either. I fly like a Thunderbird solo pilot, not a 3D pilot. I use a 5000mAh-6S-70C CNHL battery, but I put it about an inch further forward. I think I’ll take it to the field the next time I go.
I maided my Thunderbird 80 day and its a pretty quick and agile jet. I also noticed it likes to carry speed when landing but reverse thrust helped at the end. I think I like this better than the Viper 90 which seems to have a tendency to want to float on landings. Its a little nerve racking since it also carries it speed (im assuming due to its weight) and want to float while I'm burning up runway. Lol
Excellent video my brother, love your content. Awesome maiden. I have had that Jet on backorder forever over a year and a half at Horizon Hobby I finally couldn’t take it anymore and I bought the Thunderbirds version well the other day I was on Facebook marketplace and found that jet the one you’re flying right now on Facebook marketplace for $450 never flown what a find I’m hoping to fly mine within the next two months I’m in the process of moving ,but excellent video. Hope to see more videos of you flying this jet. It is such a sweet jet. I also have tail art from Callie’s Graphics, I have a tiger meat type scheme and I can’t wait to put it on the extra horizontal stabilizer, that I purchased from RC Castle, but anyways excellent video man hope to see more of you flying this jet safe flights, bro 😊👍🏻✌🏻
Appreciate the praise my brother! Flight review is in queue, stay tuned. T Bird paint scheme looks great! I did maiden on friends last week. Perfect landing cause been practicing with mine 😆. I wanted to do the Viper Demo Team scheme, however i cant see myself paying 100-120 for graphics. Would look great tho!
Did you ever find any AS3X gain settings you liked with your F-16 80mm? I just went to a 10chan rx and don’t remember what the original settings were. I’d like a good starting point. I fly in a similar region of the US. Also I liked how you included those with the T-45. Great content as always keep it up and thanks!
8S could be a option power wise.Careful on CG,depending on battery weight you might not be able to push them back enough to offset.Making more nose heavy you need to have the elevator turned to a high rate to compensate for authority...
I see that your battery is well aft of where I put mine to get the CG at the recommended 95mm aft of the wing leading edge. I could not get mine to rotate. Is everyone running their CG aft of the 95mm position? Thanks.
@@kyqx 5100, Admiral Carbon? Stock CG is fair amount forward or neutral. Keeps nose down and so much elevator authority can overcompensate the extra weight forward. Lastly biggest reason is because the CG shift forward and backwards alot with the gear. You want to CG to be forward some because when the gear goes down,CG will shift aft and be neutral.

Agree, there is noticeable difference since i have flow both now. Thunderbird scheme is my favorite! Get that bird out there 🙂
Great plane BD.. Hope you get that high alpha landing worked out. She's a beautiful plane...
Thanks Will! First time i ever flew a F16 80mm was this maiden. Wait until you see the Flight review! 🙂

Keep nose up to maintain slow flight and be on throttle.Ball bearing make it roll even faster :D Im with you,as i like the F16 over the Viper...
@BDTennessee Three months later and I learned more. You were absolutely right. Nose up with throttle and she's easy to slow down on landings.
Great Job
Thanks Nick!
Great maiden she looked locked in.
Felt good for sure! Thanks for comment tug!
Now we know who taught your buddy how to land his birds. Lm😂😂😅
Nice video bud.
Tough crowd 😆

I used the stock settings.
Would you recommend an 8s 80mm fan upgrade? For just a bit more of more?

Do you have the same battery? Yes im flying AFT of stock CG.
@@BDTennessee I ran a 5100 on the maiden. The problem was I balanced it at the published CG. It appears that this is a mistake.

@@BDTennessee Thanks for the input. I'll move it back a bit but not too much. I really need to rotate before it's out of sight!
Expo expo
I have one of those, but I don’t fly it much..
I enjoyed flying mine. Grab and go jet for awhile...
@@BDTennesseeI made two flights each with my 90mm Freewing F-22 Raptor and 70mm E-flite F-16 today.
@@txkflier good deal. Both nice jets!
Can a beginner fly this
I would start with a 70mm F-16 before flying this 80mm.
@@BDTennessee would real flight help
