my mother was adopted from south korea. i always promised i would take her there, but she passed away in 2019. i’m learning korean so i can travel there to spread her ashes and keep my promise.
So sorry to here that I really know what it feels like I hope she rest in peace (let me mention I am just 12 and I dont have my father so I know how it feels like ) :(
Reasons 1 and 3 for me, except it's BTS as well as NCT... Also add on love for Korean culture, K dramas, and the fact that I will be moving to Korea in a year or two...
This is way better than duolingo I’ve done 3 weeks and all I’m learning every lesson is. The foxs apartment. Pennsylvania newspaper. The foxs key. 😂😂😂 as if I’m ever gonna use those.
I am learning Korean because my friend said I can't learn Korean faster then her. So I made a deal with her saying that if I beat her in learning Korean she has to do what ever I say for 6 weeks. But if she learns faster then me, she gets to say mean words to me for 1 week. So thank you for your video's. I might win this challenge. Also why I'm hearing is because I want to understand what the BTS members are saying. Keep up the good work Amy❤️❤️❤️.
I’m not sure why I got this in my recommendations even though I already know Korean since I am Korean but anyone who is trying to learn, don’t give up and you’re doing amazing so far :)
I'm the only one who wants to learn Korean because i want to learn a new language? Those people saying "I want a Korean husband" And i just think... i wanna be a polyglot
Mariavictoria Ortiz , i am here because i like to learn new alfabets and their sounds , generally i stop when i know them because then comes the boring part but korean seems fun so im gonna stick i little bit more, btw these korean teacher is pretty
Yes exactly! I wanted to learn Korean Alphabet, and I did it. But I didn't want to lose my low level of Korean, because I learned this alphabet hardly and I was be able to read, but I didn't know how to speak. And however, i just want to keep with my poor level, it's better than forgetting everything. I'm learning some languages principally Chinese, and I'm in love with Chinese. But i don't feel the same with Korea, it's hard for me to learn Korean, stressful, because i don't have a reason to learn; i don't like K-pop and those things, i like dramas but anyway i prefer Japanese or Chinese Dramas. So! I need a reason to learn Korean, because it's so boring for me, and it's why, i don't have a reason to learn EDIT: I love so much these singers: Song sohee and So hyang (hope I could spell their names properly) I like Korea a lot now, I still feel better learning chinese but korean is also a beautiful language I would like to work on it later
Thanks for the reply maria, i tried to learn Japanese and i liked but Chinese i never tried because i think it's a hard language, heard they have more than 5000 kanji characters so for you to be learning this language you must be a pro hehe, btw i never read japanese dramas but i like their culture and some of the songs that i listen are japanese.
Same here. I saw a random video mentioning how simple the alphabet is to learn and the history behind it and it made me excited to go for it! Yes I do want to be able to sing along in songs and stuff but it's more like a perk than reason. I'm already bilingual and I am so fluent in both that it's super boring and I want to exercise my brain by adding another language to the mix. :) My poor friend is right now going through my nag of "whoa this word is this in Korean and this in Swedish" followed by an excited rant why it fascinates me xD I love learning but I haven't felt this excited and alive about learning something in a really long time! I love the Korean language more and more every day which kind of surprises me. :)

During the lock down I watched the first Korean movie " The King Eternal " and I got hooked 😊 I have been watching every since. I love the culture, people and language ❤❤❤😊😊
Reason i want to learn korean.. It’s my dream place to visit💓 likee i literally wanna travel when I turn 18 The people seem so nice and beautiful I want to be able to watch the movies without subtitles the food looks great
I remember Korean things pretty easily and I’m here to tell you the trick. I recommend keeping a notebook and right down everything you learned in a certain day. Take 3-5 days to study everything you learned that day. In those 3-5 days practice typing on your phone in notes and writing in a notebook. Take notes too! Study about 15-30 minutes a day. Over the course you will find yourself remembering the words. Soon you will find yourself remembering the words pretty easily. All I can say without practice you won’t get better, so keep trying! :)
i'm tryna learn for 3 reasons, i want to be able to understand my faves when they do lives ( or have videos without subs ) since there aint no subtitles ill have to wait and i really wanna comment but i know they wont understand- i wanna watch kdramas like some of the english sub aint even that accurate and i want to understand what they're saying properly even without the subs i sometimes have to wait for SOOO long before the kdrama gets subtitle. i'll be going to korea soon with my parents and i don't wanna be lost and not knowing what the heck i should say, rn i only know basic words but i dont think that'll help me that much at all-
I'm taking notes Who else is? I legit bought a note book from a store that's a mile away from me Worth it anyway Cause I can impress my friends and I can figure out what my beloved bts group is saying Oh and edit, not just bts but anyone group I Stan which is like every group
Reasons why I want to learn Korean : 1: it's a beautiful language I love the culture the people and the country itself 2: I want to study in Korea 3: So that I can watch kdramas without subtitles •~if you're reading this I want to tell you you can do it, no matter what you're going through everything will be okay. Trust the process
I want to visit Korea one day :) there's quite a lot of places I want to visit Korea is on my list. I try to learn a little bit to wherever I plan to travel since it's easier 😅
lmao 4 now im learning japanese and french, but im also learning spanish (cuz of sch and my parents r making me), sign language and igbo(cuz my family is Nigerian and thats what they mostly speak besides english)
i wanna learn korean because the culture language writing and place is beautiful im trying my best to move there when i am older! im currently 12 years old and hoping for more easy lessons that will sooner become hard the more i learn
I can read and write Korean, im pretty good at the understanding part so here's a tip! Never and I mean NEVER use the romanization for anything! For ex. : don't type 'annyeonghaseyo' . it will stunt whatever growth you've made and wont be understandable for Native Korean speakers. instead, try to learn hangeul [ Korean alphabet ] and it will make understanding, pronunciation, and reading 100% easier! Listen or don't listen to me but it really helped me.
it's also pretty easy to learn as well. being the "most pure" phonetic language there is, what you see is what you get. sure, there are a few rules to pronunciation, but it is genuinely the EASIEST alphabet I know.
I still use the romanization of Korean on flashcards/notes, as I am not planning on learning how to read or write korean, Rather just speak it with others. Although if I do get invested in learning Korean, I'll try learning the Alphabet then.
Aww I'm doing it for Jin and BTS too lol I wanna understand what they're saying and be able to speak with them at concerts without them feeling uncomfortable. I want my baby angels to feel comfortable forever.
It is very impressive as a native to see other people try to learn Korean I am living in US right now and wishing I have a friend who can actually speak Korean or at least try to learn. Thank you for everyone who gives much love towards our culture. Good Luck!
I am learning Korean because 1. for blackpink and bts 40% 2. To show off 20% 3. Korean is a beautiful language 20% 4. To confuse people when I am angry 10% 5. I want to learn korean basic reasons - I want to go to Korea - I want to talk with BTS - I want to know what BTS talking on v live - bighit stopped putting English subtitles
The spanish is the second languaje most talked in all the world, you will have more chances to work or meet people if you speak spanish, i'm a natural speaker of spanish =3 Also, you can learn korean faster if you already speak spanish, you can learn both at the same time
Thank you for this video! My whole family fluently speaks and/or understands Korean, and while the language is familiar to me, I really only understand some basic phrases. I’d like to better understand the breakdown of the phrases I know and some structure so that I can speak back a little
Wow, first time I've seen you here in TH-cam and I'm hooked! I thought learning Korean would be so hard, but just a few minutes listening and imitating you, Amy, and I learned a lot.I'm an English teacher but I'm interested to learn your language.I love watching your Kdramas, I've become addicted to it and I just love hearing you speak your language, so I'm really going to start learning with you. You're a very effective teacher. Keep up the good work.Looking forward to more lessons!I'm signing up that's for sure!
Omg same, I'm making notes on word so i have to get up the Korean keyboard, then i have to go back to the video because I don't remember what to type lolll
I want to learn Korean to watch kdramas without subtitles i think Korean is a beautiful language and words are expressed in beautiful way especially in songs ❤️
This is Patrick here’s a little of advice I’m know about 5/4 phrases in Korean such as yes,no,thank you in 3 ways, hi, my name in Korean and how are you in Korean for some these words I learned on this video but the rest these words I use the Korean app. You have to pay for more phrases but the words that they give you automatically are good for me I like the repeat the words and get used to them if you keep on thinking about the words the more you forget them. I learned hi about at month ago I still know it know I like to keep on saying my words to get my mind used to it and I’m kinda used to thank you in Korean by this video. It’s takes time to learn but what also trains your mind for this language is keep on replaying the phrases. If you have a similar words you wanna sound the words out to get them right. I know this might not sound helpful especially coming from a roblox player who dreams of going to Korea when they get older but I hope you can learn from my advice
Trying to learn Korean I’ll update y’all later Edit: I CAN READ IT! but I don’t know what it means.. Edit 2: I can read it wayyy faster now and im can understand some of the words in a sentence! Edit 3: I just remembered about this haha I have 100% memorized the alphabet and can read it with no struggle at all and pronounce every word I read almost perfectly, I’ve also been doing great on grammar and can keep a simple conversation. So yea guys it’s not impossible just don’t give up or nothing will happen
@@starrynight1601 from what i heard the students there are really competitive, and the school hours are long too.. you might wanna consider carefully :)
The reason we armies are learning Korean so that when our 7 come live we can able to understand what are they saying , so that we don't have to say like Jin “I don't know what he said but let's laugh" lol😂 Sorry if I have done some mistakes 🙂
Lets all be honest.. We have paid more attention while learning korean for our idols than we ever paid attention in school XD Edit: HOLY THIS IS MOST LIKES I EVER GOT YALLL
I’m doing this because: • I want to be able to speak more than one language • travel to Korea • learn more about other languages as I only speak English and it’s such a beautiful language

im learning bc there’s a korean kid in my class and no one sits with him I wanna be his friend but he doesn’t know much English:// he seems very nice too!! I guess it helps that I’m a kpopstan bc I already know a few words
I was like that kid but in Russia, I did not know so much russian so no one wanted to be my friend and it was actually hard to sit alone and to see all these friends laughing and having fun together, so please try to be that kids friend!!!
Me: Eight imma learn Korean so I don’t need those annoying subtitles Me: *forgets everything 5 minutes in the video and still only knows how to say hi by saying oniononsale* ok I think I’m the master at Korean now
i'm korean, actually we don't use 'daedanhee' normally lol. u guys can use '너무' (neomoo) or '진짜' (jinzza) or '정말'(jeongmal) instead of daedanhee! it's much more natural~ i hope u guys enjoy learning korean :3
quick question for you... should i learn the alphabet and learn the words like that? i feel like learning the romanized words is easier for speaking but it won't help when actually reading korean
i think it's much better to try to use and read korean instead of romanized words! if it's hard to pronounce at first, then watch youtube videos about korean pronunciation! :) (sorry, my English is bad)
I don't know how I fell in love with Korea after being too much obsessed with BTS. Oh my heartu And now I have finally made a decision that I will learn Hangul no matter what. Books are not as easy as videos hehe. ☮️ Peace
Reasons why I’m learning Korean 1. My grandma is Korean and she learned English so I want to learn Korean for her 2. I tried a while back but wimped out 3. All I know on the language is a few words my family uses that my grandma didn’t learn in English and that I can define the language from others that sound similar

1~ My Future In Korea
2~ It’s A Beautiful Language
3~ For K-pop...😂
4~ I want to learn another language 😭
my reasons are also same lol
i'm tryna learn for 3 reasons,
i want to be able to understand my faves when they do lives ( or have videos without subs ) since there aint no subtitles ill have to wait and i really wanna comment but i know they wont understand-
i wanna watch kdramas like some of the english sub aint even that accurate and i want to understand what they're saying properly even without the subs i sometimes have to wait for SOOO long before the kdrama gets subtitle.
i'll be going to korea soon with my parents and i don't wanna be lost and not knowing what the heck i should say, rn i only know basic words but i dont think that'll help me that much at all-
Me too for K-Pop
Me for BTS😂

I can read and write Korean, im pretty good at the understanding part so here's a tip! Never and I mean NEVER use the romanization for anything! For ex. : don't type 'annyeonghaseyo' . it will stunt whatever growth you've made and wont be understandable for Native Korean speakers. instead, try to learn hangeul [ Korean alphabet ] and it will make understanding, pronunciation, and reading 100% easier! Listen or don't listen to me but it really helped me.
True!!!
it's also pretty easy to learn as well. being the "most pure" phonetic language there is, what you see is what you get. sure, there are a few rules to pronunciation, but it is genuinely the EASIEST alphabet I know.
@@skrtskrt22 ikr!!!
I still use the romanization of Korean on flashcards/notes, as I am not planning on learning how to read or write korean, Rather just speak it with others. Although if I do get invested in learning Korean, I'll try learning the Alphabet then.
I have learned it, and it’s pretty easy once you get the notes down. I write notes cause they’re useful 🥰
