Also any good cook knows that fat is flavor, and that is yet another reason why thighs are superior to breasts. Chicken thighs are a fattier cut of meat, which means they're going to have more intense, rich flavor than their white meat counterparts. No matter the cooking preparation.
@@kitsulu8576 yes! Also helping it from drying. Breasts just dry so much quicker than any other part of the chicken. It blows my mind that people enjoy chicken breast skinless. That’s the one flimsy layer of fat for the breast and also so full of flavor.
for real. On the one hand I feel kind of bad for the guy because it was clearly a stressful situation for him as well, but on the other hand that was clearly one of the 1% of drivers that only finish their drives alive because everyone else is looking out for them. Dude shouldn't drive around a city when he's so insecure about his driving abilities.
Connor is very thoughtful and compassionate even when talking about frustrating things ( the Uber diver, homelessness). I like that he pauses and tries to consider a more charitable explanation.
@@balabanasireti I mean you have ppl like Joey that gave a homeless man a 5 for entertaining conversation with him while not willing to give to any homeless that seemed rude. And that's not at all bashing on Joey, it's incredibly normal for people to be a little intensive to homeless people, so Connor being a bit more understanding that its not fair for us to judge who's worth giving money too, is a compassion that's nice to have and unfortunately isn't too common. People have bad uber drivers and unwelcoming experiences with homeless people and don't hesitate to pull a Karen and complain about it the whole way through.
@@balabanasireti Totally disagree. I think most people just air out their frustrations without trying to see things from the other perspective. Connor actively tries to give people the benefit of the doubt which isn't a common trait in everyone.

@@u13erfitz ya seriously wonder where Connor gets his Korean chicken if it's only skin and bones. The one I get are still meaty but they also come with a shit ton more sides (like rice, kimchi, etc.) So it makes sense if they're not as big

Honestly the way Connor speaks about homeless people is so heartwarming. My parents always taught me to just ignore homeless people and they always demonize them but homeless people are human too
I mean, that could be said to all criminals as well and the point would still stand. No matter how hideous the things those people did, at the end of the day, they're still humans. I think it's perfectly normal to treat people differently according to their socioeconomic status. Whether it's right or wrong, is another convoluted topic for another day. But for now, I think it's fair game.
The only people with more contempt towards homeless than ignorant middle-class people are ex-homeless. Either that or there's a lotta ignorant middle-class people who will lie about having been homeless to create this narrative of homeless people being actually unwell or unwilling to get better. Frankly while the most probable answer is "there's a lot more of those than you expect but fewer than it seems", I still think that you can at least afford them the human decency of leaving them alone unless they harrass you.
Conner is pretty honest and compassionate in his own ways, but can seem pretty cold at times. I appreciate all their content and have no problems with personalities, but I wish Conner and Joey weren’t so closed minded with their nationalistic views. Everyone has their flaws tho, and it’s a kinda normal one
Glad to hear you speak on the homeless issue. It hurts my heart when I see people look down on the homeless (which happens a lot, sadly). Most people are 2 steps away from being the person they're looking down on. Hopefully they never find that out the hard way.
Then fix your homeless problems instead of wasting time, money and effort on dumb things like representation, diversity, virtual signalling, interfering on other nations and promoting war
Here in Sweden we've probably come the closest to "beating" homelessness, but sadly in our last election a coalition with the most right-wing party in Sweden won the majority, and our welfare system was already being heavily restricted as is. They plan to restrict it even more, because they think it'll create less criminals. I don't get it, putting people in poverty is what leads most people to crime! It's so sad to see when the world moves backwards.
I'm sorry for getting so political btw, it's just something I'm really frustrated about. It is a complex topic but I feel like a lot of Swedes aren't thinking critically or empathetically. They're angry at the increase in violent crime from immigrants, which I get, but they want to punish them for it which isn't constructive it's actually just going to make things worse for everyone. Especially for the innocent poor people who stay away from crime but need welfare support.
The thing is that the US government has programs in place for homeless people, but the homeless are either not aware or don’t care to take advantage of it.
The way they described how Americans react when you mention something political is how they react when food is mentioned lmao, the moment Garnt said he didn't like ranch it descended into pure chaos, I love this podcast
53:27 After mistakenly calling us Wisconsin at the Minneapolis show, Connor found out first-hand how much of a mistake it is to get certain states mixed up.
Specifically Wisconsin and Minnesota😭 I've noticed as a packers fan that Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota don't like each other much sometimes😭 Edit: guess I need to learn more about state dynamics, thanks for all the friendly replies and not trying go crazy on me guys
@@not_my_real_name9500 Illinois doesn't really hate those states. Honestly, the state that Illinois hates by it is itself. And maybe Indiana. But mostly itself. At least in terms of Chicago and the south (Illinois).

I paused and looked for this (or a similar comment) after hearing that hoping i wasnt the only one. My god, im guessing he wanted to say continent. And the TT boys sure love mixing country and continent up
I still think my favorite part of the show in Boston was when Connor and Garnt stepped offstage for a moment and Joey was just there alone, and the audience just started chanting "JOEY, JOEY, JOEY"
Joey realising that the huge group of people that just came into the Japanese pub, were actually a deaf collective here for a meet up is hilarious. it's like that moment in the IT Crowd where Roy uses a disabled toilets thinking nobody will notice, then hilarious shenanigans ensue if you know you know.
Connor's flood story reminded me of the one time my dad decided to build a fence in our backyard between our garden and the neighbour's garden. Now, my dad's done that before so he got the supplies and started digging holes for the support pillars, went really deep to make sure it would be fastened properly, and finished building the fence the same day. It wasn't a big project and so the same day we drove to Germany (from Denmark). As we're on the German highway, my mum gets a call. "Do you live on [our house's address]?" My mum confused as to why someone randomly calls us asking this: "Yes, who is this?" Apparently my dad, in building the fence, had destroyed an internet cable and had caused not only our house, not our neighbours, nay not even our entire neighbourhood, this man had singlehandedly caused FOUR neighbourhoods to be without internet 💀 We were getting called from the official municipal internet suppliers asking permission to go into our backyard and tear the fence down 😂
The way u say "Connor's flood story" make it sounds like another version of the flood story from Genesis and other ancient myth lol. Connor flooded the hotel so much the water flowed back in time and flooded the entire world
As a Minnesotan I was so happy you guys came since a lot of the time it’s a coin flip as to whether people come here. It’s not a big deal to drive a couple hours to Wisconsin shows but it feels nice to have people do a show way up here. I know you guys couldn’t hit everywhere but I’m proud you boys made it to where you could for your first tour 😊
most people do not understand homelessness and are frankly shit at dealing with them or talking about about the issues around it they basically just see them as criminals or freaks
@@SKULLKR3W maybe people don't want to deal with them. I just want to go, have a drink, shop, then go home. Why are you coming to me asking for money hoping it will be a nice experience? Leave me alone.
Too much money has been spent in the homeless-industrial complex. We need to just start moving them away from the beautiful coast areas into Nevada or seeing them into jail.
Connors crazy taxi ride, Garnts exp with Detroit, Connor creating a Noah’s ark flood in a hotel and the chicken debate having a sequel is the best highlights on this ep
I went to the Canada Trash Taste event and wanted the merch. But it was immediately sold out. I'm glad that the boys explained the reason behind the shortage. Canada has too many useless rules and regulations.
As someone from Cleveland, Ohio, I absolutely adored being in the audience and seeing our reaction to voting Ohio as the worst state to get isekai’d to.
ohio goes hard, but i can see from a japan-domicile perspective how it seems shitty. CLE is a ghost town compared to other cities due to the suburbanization, but it was also rainy as hell that day so... understandable
Lmao, me and my friends at the MI show were in tears at how they kept talking about how scared they were of “Detroit”, while we’re in Royal Oak, one of the most hipster cities you can go to. Still really enjoyed the show, and hope they come back one day!
At the Salt Lake show, I met a guy who flew in from Finland just for the show, which is freaking insane! Shout out to that guy. He was very chill, and a cool dude.
I was just super lucky, because the one day I spent in Chicago before flying back to Munich (I was in the US on unrelated business) was the day of the show. So I'm pretty sure for a few days after that I was the only person (or one of *very* few others) to own a Trash Taste Tour shirt within like thousands of kilometers. If it came to Europe, I'd definitely go again tho. It really was a blast!
As a born and raised American, I fully agree with Garnt's opinion of the culture between the West And East Coast. Historically speaking, Americans moved out west with the intention of finding Gold, wearas The people in the east have had generations of the same old same old. So it makes perfect sense, from not only a historical perpective, but a literal cultural perspective as well. Hats off to Garnt for literally nailing it.
@@HouseMDaddict I thought the point from giascle was that the states that legalized weed have a correlation with being good states. They aren't saying that because of the legalization of weed, the states are fun. Correlation doesn't equal causation as they say in stats
When dealing with homeless people, the main thing I remember being taught as a kid was “don’t stare”. So avoid their attention if you can, if they come up to you, I will need to politely say that I can’t help them. I wish I could do more, but I’m not too well off either. You can’t save everyone sadly.
An episode idea based on an American tradition: The Trash Taste Potluck Mini-Special. Where each of the boys cooks and brings their favorite appetizer, main course, and dessert to share. Then we can finally see Garnt’s lasagna-making chops.
Connors taxi story, that's actually a thing these drivers on apps do now, it's a tactic to get money without having to drive, they will try and park a few roads away so that your timer runs out on purpose so they can say that they were there but you didn't show up and they can collect the free money. You should give them a hard time if they do that to you because they are trying to literally scam you. I've heard about it many times it's a common tactic nowadays
My driver horror story was a 60 yrold grandpa with a coughing fit not knowing how to use his uber app and taking me on a wild ride in the snow filled roads 😭 i felt so bad for connor

As someone who went to the Denver show, it really did seem like Joey enjoyed his time there. It was also cool we got to hear Connor tell his League Hotel Flooding story live and soon after it happened. Loved the show, and can't wait to see you boys again someday.
Garnt is absolutely right about East and West coast types. When I lived on the west coast, I could not believe how long people take to do EVERYTHING. hahah
SOOOO glad that Garnt loved Toronto and can't wait to have him and Sydney back here!! The Toronto show was amazing!! I had a great time and appreciate the hardwork they put in for all the goods and everything!! So so glad I bought the hoodie and tshirt in Toronto too!!
I feel honored that the boys shouted out Biloxi Mississippi. My cousin and I live like an hour from there and go to Biloxi quite frequently. The thought that they were that close is surreal.
I actually ran into Joey at anime usa one time and he’s really sweet. Although he popped up right behind me and i get really bad anxiety so i was really nervous which I think he could tell lmao but i took a picture with him and my friends:)
As a Washingtonian I'm very happy that the boys enjoyed Seattle so much (Of course Joey enjoyed it if you know you know) Even if we were a massive disappointment with our degenerate answers during the live show
I was not expecting to be chanting “ RATS RATS RATS” all night when I went to see your show, but it was definitely the highlight. Great show guys, I hope your future shows are a success as well
As a Seattle/Washington guy, it makes me happy that you enjoyed the city so much. I lowkey worried that you wouldn't be able to get the best experience of the city in such a short time, but if you viewed it so highly from just a brief visit, it's definitely even better with more prolonged stays. Easily some of the best parts are the nature around the city and in the state. And agreed with the food, the more a travel, the more I realize that I miss the diversity in the cuisine. In the West Coast especially, it seems like there is a desire for authentic tastes from different cultures, so while it might not be as good as getting something in the country itself, it's gonna be hard to beat it in America.
I am so happy to hear that you guys liked Nashville so much!! I was born and raised here, and I’m glad you enjoyed some of the great things about it! I was at the show, I got to ask a question at the Q&A and I gave you guys some fanmail! I hope you received it!
Hey! Thanks for remembering me! that flight from Hawaii wasn't Cheap! Loved the show! and shout out to your Merch team for helping me when a drunk guy poured beer on me and ruined my signed poster!
19:38 I live in Greece and have ridden A LOT of taxi rides with my mother and grandmother and we get those kind of questions a lot too and they're both SO KNOWLEDGEABLE about the streets and the paths to the locations and they always answer them perfectly. They're even like "don't go this way because there's a street market today on this spot and I'm always flabbergasted.
I find it nearly unbelievable that the 3 of them saw America as "direct" and "tell you what they think". The hardest part about socializing for me is getting anyone to talk about anything they actually know or care about, and not just the same 3 topics. Maybe it is just worse elsewhere, or maybe what Americans talk about feels more direct to foreigners.
Compared to basically nothing but pleasantries in Japan (until you get to know them better for quite some time/knew someone since childhood), even those same 3 topics are going to feel direct.
Thank you all for coming out I had to travel over an hour and stayed in Chicago for a few days so I could see you and im really happy i did. Come back soon im glad Connor enjoyed portillos
I know this is podcast is more in the entertainment side and jokes are fun and all but I appreciate Connor's seriousness talking about homeless people and the misconceptions on who really are the ones at fault in a systemic problem. In my country people also just ignore them :/ and not many things are done to fix the issue.
The true power of American food is actually the diversity. Sure, we have lots of comfort food places that are good, but I cannot recommend ethnic places enough. Good Mexican, Chinese, etc. Places are amazing. Also, if you're on the east coast, seafood is the way to go. Find a local place that doesn't accept card, almost guaranteed to have amazing fish for a good price. (Exceptions, of course, apply)
Okay just got past the Ohio bit and yeah.. that's about right. Honestly, describing Ohio as a CoD Zombies map is pretty much on point. Columbus is cool though. (I left Ohio as soon as I turned 18).
I live in the Detroit area and went to the Detroit show. They weren't in Detroit, they were in Royal Oak just north of Detroit which is why it seemed bougie. That being said, I'm sorry for the interaction Garnt had in our state. I'm Asian and have had those kinds of experiences but I also think I can say most people in this area are nice especially compared to the rural areas of Michigan. Thanks for at least making a stop in our area because the show was a lot of fun ❤️
Before I saw Trash Taste in the TX show I told my bf that one of them was going to show up in a cowboy hat and boots and that Connor would try to do a southern accent. Turns out all three were in a hat and boots and Connor was still the one trying to do that accent

Bro I'm from Montreal, do I wish the boys came here as well? Hell yeah, but the fact that they chose AT LEAST one Canadian city as part of the tour is good enough for me ♥
I'm from Detroit and went to the show, I really just want to apologize on behalf of Detroit ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Garnt, you are more then welcome here. It really is a beautiful place.
They probably thought he was a Muslim. A lot of people around Detroit lost jobs and then they see a huge influx of Muslims that take them cheaper. That being said A they’re idiots, b it’s the politicians not a random dude walking the street in Detroit.

@Jon Paul Cuellar Yeah it's pretty easy. Give them homes and compulsory psychological support. It's a pretty easy fix. It's just that mfs at the top don't want the housing market to stop becoming more and more inaccessible to the normal person.
The shock of someone on the Trash Taste Team learning about what a Chicken and Waffle meal is for some reason is the funniest thing to me right now! The absolute shock and horror! LOL, I love chicken and waffles, but you gotta find a place that makes SPICY chicken to have with your waffles. The spicy and sweet is such a beautiful experience for your taste-buds. :D

Everyone has their flaws tho, and it’s a kinda normal one
What he said is just obvious lol
Glad to hear you speak on the homeless issue. It hurts my heart when I see people look down on the homeless (which happens a lot, sadly). Most people are 2 steps away from being the person they're looking down on. Hopefully they never find that out the hard way.
Then fix your homeless problems instead of wasting time, money and effort on dumb things like representation, diversity, virtual signalling, interfering on other nations and promoting war
@@DenLim123 I'll get right on that, because I as an American citizen have a say as to where the money goes 🙄 edit: I do agree with you kinda

Connors taxi story, that's actually a thing these drivers on apps do now, it's a tactic to get money without having to drive, they will try and park a few roads away so that your timer runs out on purpose so they can say that they were there but you didn't show up and they can collect the free money. The hardest part about socializing for me is getting anyone to talk about anything they actually know or care about, and not just the same 3 topics.
