    I’ve never heard of Hank the cow dog. My husband was just telling me he has the whole collection because he loved those books when he was little. Too funny that you mentioned it.

    This is the first year I’ve really planned my own path for school (we’ve used AO for years). Thank you for your encouragement over the many last few videos! They’ve been really helpful. My planning looked much the same, except spread all over the living room and way less organized 🤣 I finally got it under control, but I haven’t actually written it all down yet. It’s hard to get to when there are five kids all over the place.

      ha ha! It's so hard! This was way more organized than I usually am, since I had to film it!! It was hard to film because I really felt all over the place, but I wanted to make it understandable for others to watch, lol! Glad you can relate!

    I'm convinced that most of us homeschool moms are named Ashley 😂😂 there are so many here on TH-cam

    Ashley, I definitely appreciate this video! I love ALL things planning and organizing. Side note, we have the Not Consumed planners and I didn't realize it had that part in the book 🙃. I will be filling it out this weekend!! Happy early Birthday🎊!!

    Happy birthday! My husband's birthday was yesterday too! (And our boys' birthdays were last week too haha. We are just full of birthday celebrations over here lol.) I am also super overwhelmed with planning this year but hearing that you are too makes me feel a little better! We have to officially register our homeschool this year and I can't come up with a name. I've read lots of tips but I just can't settle on anything. Our state doesn't allow name changes so it's gotta be a good one!

    • @JoyfulNoiseLearning
      @JoyfulNoiseLearning  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oooo! Yeah, that’s tough to come up with a name. 😬 What ideas do you have so far?? Do you want something that honors God in the name? Or your family?? Ours is Dream Weaver Academy- I did it just for fun and to match our family name 😄

    • @TheThomasTribe13
      @TheThomasTribe13 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoyfulNoiseLearning There’s one name I love but there’s a homeschool academy type thing locally with the same name and it’s suggested to not use a local schools name so as not to be confusing. A friend suggested AIM Academy (Arrows in the Making) but now I’m not sure about using an acronym….(also AIM makes me think of AOL instant messenger 😆). The word “legacy” keeps popping up so now we are considering Legacy Academy but not sure if that sounds too generic? 🙈😂 Or we could do Legacy Christian Academy. The only thing I’m really somewhat settled on is the word academy haha. I just like the sound of it and it’s the name of the first street I ever lived on so it has some meaning. I just want the name to feel special and sound legit. It was easier coming up with our kids names!! 🤣 I keep going back to Deuteronomy 6:5-9 so I’d love something to do with that but having a hard time with that too.

    That's funny- we are also starting Wednesday the 9th! There are things going on both Monday and Tuesday of that week. Hence starting on Wednesday.

    Hi Ashley! Are both versions of your planner editable/customizable? Can we enter in what we want or do we have to print and write-in?

    • @JoyfulNoiseLearning
      @JoyfulNoiseLearning  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great question, at this point you'd have to print and write in, but I know there are apps that you can use, even just the notes or pdf app on a iMac or iPhone, that will let you edit documents like that.

    I was so excited to try hank the cow dog. It looks so cute. But sadly we did not like it. It was a lot of rude humor and name calling. Which, for our family, we do not allow. My son didn’t like it either, and he’s an avid reader who has his own “library” and collects books.

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Hank the Cow dog. It's such a bummer they have that rude humor. We try to steer clear of that as well.

    Do you have them do narrations are write out about the book

    • @JoyfulNoiseLearning
      @JoyfulNoiseLearning  ปีที่แล้ว

      I mostly do oral narrations about the books that they read and I read to them. I do written narrations about once a week.

    How many history streams are you covering?

    • @JoyfulNoiseLearning
      @JoyfulNoiseLearning  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, we are starting the year with my oldest two listening to parts of Story of the World Volume 4, then we'll move into Ancient History (based of of Beautiful Feet Books Ancient History intermediate and Augustus Ceasar's World) and that's it :) Our Morning time Loop has mostly Modern History based composers and artists, which doesn't line up with Ancient History, but I'm okay with that.

    • @jcav7
      @jcav7 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoyfulNoiseLearning yeah, I’m starting to realize it’s ok not to align everything perfectly. They’ll do the sorting in their heads. We’re kind of doing the same thing as far as streams go.

    You don't do all the levels of all about reading?

    • @JoyfulNoiseLearning
      @JoyfulNoiseLearning  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Isn't there only 4 levels? I didn't use All About Reading Level 4 teacher's guide because I had trouble finding time to do it. I was able to fit in using the readers. It's mostly on me. I had too many things on my plate the past couple years, and some things I had to let go. Looking back, I shouldn't have let AAR slip, but that's what happened. It's all on me that we didn't finish it. But the boys have been using the readers!
