Thank you so much for this, @Danceline Ballet: a real treat, I watched it over and over! Each version had its own magic, each dancer their own magic. I loved the ambitious choreography and charming artistry of the Bolshoi, and I enjoyed the precision of the Royal Ballet, especially the way Lamb and Macrae harmonised. The NYCB version was full of excitement. On this one, I have to say my favourite was the Royal Ballet (although it would have been even more perfect had Sarah Lamb perhaps smiled more) for the iconic fish dive at the end.
Wow, the coda is so thrilling, I just love it! Morgan Fairchild reigns supreme as the Sugar Plum Fairy, and with Joaquin they are spectacular, so I’d have to go with the NYCBALLET first, but The Royal Ballet with its sets, costumes, and choreography is a close second. Thank you! 😊
I LOVE the Bolshoi (my favorite ballet company), but when it comes to the Nutcracker, it's like, if you ain't got no Sugar Plum Fairy, you disqualified!
Royal ballet coreo was beautiful. Bolshoi is absolutely beuaituful as well. I do have to say the production overall of the Toronto Ballet is my favourite.
Don’t think the footage of the Bolshoi was as clear and in frame as the other two. Prefer The Royal Ballet’s costumes and scenery etc. But I’d have to say in general I’d go with The Bolshoi. But I guess it depends who’s dancing and partnering up together than can have an influence. It’s all personal choice too….do you like the Vaganova method or the other methods out there? Either way there’s years and decades of blood, sweat and tears gone into each one….kudos to all xx
They are all magnificent and greatly talented and beautiful principal dancers, for sure 'Ovcharenko and Goryacheva' . . 'MacRae and Lamb' . . 'De Luz and Fairchild' ❤❤❤❤❤ ! Tho, I'm most fond of Megan Fairchild and Joaquin De Luz and their Nutcracker- Coda interpretation ❤❤❤. Thank you to @ DanceLine Ballet for this lovely video ❤❤😊.

I’ve noticed the tempi for the Royal Ballet is consistently slower than the other examples. 🤔

The Royal Ballet's is the closest to the notated original 1892 Ivanov choreography.
