Berkhampsted Castle looks great. I’m amazed it has lasted this long. I love the moats have survived. Fantastic history Alessa. The Black Prince certainly got around in those days. Shame it was abandoned, thank god the railway was rerouted, shame about the gatehouse though. I can just imagine it all the way you tell us all the history Alessa. Two wells? 1216 wow Fantastic filming & narration as usual Alessa & Brett. Thank you so much for sharing x💕stay awesome, look forward to the next one
As always a wonderful Castle tour, Alessa and Brett. Great narration and history, Alessa. Beautiful views from above, Brett. Thanks for bringing us along.
Thank you for this new video! It's the second one for me, and always the same pleasure to hear your voice. Thank you also for the written sentences that help me to understand better all that you say. Stéphane from France
Just another amazing castle tour. No way to keep up with the chat😅. I still had to go back and pause a few times. There are some amazing sketches of this place. They line up with the drone footage. I was imagining a transition from the drawings to what's still standing. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend🙋♂👍😎💞🐲🌹
Loverly history lesson, wasn’t aware of the aftermath of Williams tour after Hastings but makes sense. Ice the castle was protected from railway. Looks aoveryly place to wander. Thanks 4 sharing M&T
Cool historic place. Amazing that parts of the moat still exists. Great narration of its history and background. The view from above gave it a super perspective 😊
Hello, guys! What a so scenic and impressive place! Nice to have the chance to visit and enjoy it! As always a fantastic narration, dear Alessa! So interesting and well presented content, my friends. A huge like and my biggest embrace. Happy weekend! Renata
So important for five centuries. It's amazing it managed to survive until today. Wonderful tour video. Thank you for all the hard work you and Brett put into these videos.
Hi Alessa, loved the walk around the ruins of the castle and all the history you tell us. Loved the drone footage, beautiful scenery , thank you for sharing x
Thank you for the very detailed narration to show this wonderful castle from early Norman times. It must have been impressive on its best days surrounded by a water canal. Have a nice weekend dear friend. 👍L55
Lovely place and so much history to get to know! This small village (or just a mansion ? Hard to see) looks so awesome, I’m so glad they preserved these places and you can still walk in and check it out! And then the castle as the cherry on the top!
Absolutely fascinating this one. This isn’t really that far from us but we’ve never visited. I didn’t even know that Berkhampstead had a castle!! Unbelievable history - especially around the Norman invasion. Can just imagine William gathering more troops here before he advanced on London. Top stuff guys. Superb narration Allessa and some great drone footage Brett. Loved this one 👍👍👍
Sorrow...to see what's left on this property. Thick walls and ragged ...rocks sticking out from walls...what do they tell us? History...Alessa, thank you for telling us its history.
Interesting the history of the fortress that defends the northern part of London. Even though there are only ruins now, certainly 1000 years ago, in its glory period, it looks extraordinary!
Ay up. We're so lucky to live on an island that's so rich in history and it's great that places such as this are being preserved. Ay a great weekend me duck 👣👍🙂
Sorry I did not made it on your premier just came home late🙏🏻. Another beautiful views from the start ❤️. Beautiful castle as per the design. After 3 century but still the memories of the walls are still available 👍. 13:12 this is really my most favorite ❤️❤️❤️. Amazing Job Alessa ❤️. Thank you for sharing. Have a nice weekend. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪.
glad you liked the castle guys , i have got to walk up the side of it for mondays vlog, i am heading to a place called Devils bridge and spooky lane to bring that to life , i have to pass the ww1 training trenches 0.5 miles from the castle they are incredible , the ashridge estate just over to the left has an abandoned log cabin from a horror movie , a monument and a couple of ice houses in the woods , and its all in sight on google maps just looking a mile north of this video shoot, you smashed it again guys as always the drone work is off the scale , have a great weekend .
Beautiful sharing as usual my friend! Lots of love and respect from a solo mountain hiker friend from the Hindu Kush Mountains Lower Chitral District of Pakistan!
Some of Berkhamsted Castle's extensive earthworks and natural defences are forgotten, like the road between the railway and the castle was part of the moat, with the gate house on an outer raised embankment where the railway is. Having more that one moat makes Berhamsted unique, but more (before the 18th century canal channelled the water) between the gatehouse and the town of Berkhamsted the was a marsh. Though Berko's inner moats are not that wide.
Sorry we missed it. It's right in the middle of our work day here in the USA on the East Coast. We've been pretty bad at catching up on stuff. We're so far behind with our own projects which can only happen after the work day... You probably know what we're talking about.
Lk49 now from my personal account and I am watching it fully again now because yesterday I was concentrating on the chat more. He he he. But finally learned some names like Sue - The Budd flies and Dara - Magenta Travels.
