I spent 45 frustrating minutes trying to figure out a different way to thread the gun with no success. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've had an ATG gun for years - used to use it to mount photographs. Recently realised I could use it for crafting, rather than it sit in a box. When I tried to re-load tape it was a nightmare - discovered your video and hurrah! one happy crafter!

I actually returned an ATG to Amazon when they had them for less than craft stores and turned right around and ordered another. I should have kept the first one but I had not seen any videos on fixing defective tape. The second one I ordered was probably a return, you could see some wear on it but when I went to see if they had any more left (because inventory was very low) AND I surely didn't want to pay an arm and a leg, I kept it BUT it was happening again!!! The tape was doing it again but I thought my ATG was defective! I knew I had to make it work and searched till I found you!!! You are So kind and thoughtful for making this video! I just subscribed to your channel. Hope to see what other amazing things you have on here. I know so many people have given up on their ATG's and I bet it is for the same reason. 😞

Oh my goodness. I CANNOT tell you how much frustration you saved me. I was about to lose my mind! Like I legit was almost in tears. The roll is a Scotch roll and it just was not working...I wasted so much tape and was baffled! I had to put it away last night and try again today. After countless videos I found this one!! This is my 1st time using this type of ATG & I unloaded & reloaded the tape roll so many times I lost count. lol So I contacted Jen & here I am. Your Video Helpes me tremendously!! Shared this video with an Amazon customer who was having the problem you solved at the end. I had just bought my ATG gun which included 2 rolls of tape. After dealing with the issue of tape "wandering" off the rolls/guides I was hesitant to fully commit to ATG after reading reviews about the "defective" rolls of tape. Now that I have solutions to both, I'm pulling the trigger and fully committed to ATG! LOL

Thank you so much! I bought this tape glider several years ago and it always messes up while I'm doing a project. I had the exact problem you talked about. It seemed like the tape roll was upside down and would not dispense tale correctly. I ended up with a tangled mess of tape and paper backing coming out on the underside of the glider. I was about to sell it or break it! I was so frustrated! Your directions and explanations were so clear. I got correctly loaded on the first try! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I bought 36 rolls of scotch tapes and 16 of them had glue on the inside of the roll. Thankfully I did keep them and thanks to you, I can actually use them as intended! This tip alone made my year; coupled with the shim, girl you made my decade!! I sell cards, and scrapbook and use my tag gun almost daily when I'm at home. So these two tips are mind-blowing! Again many thanks.
I am so happy I found your video even though it was 4 years old! I was seriously ready to ditch my ATG because of this problem, knowing I was putting it on correctly and having the sticky on the wrong side. Have wasted lots of tape too because of this issue with the rolls. It doesn't help that the rolls last so long that I can't remember if I am installing it correctly the next time lol.
Thanks so much for the second part of the video referring to “defective tape”. I had been using my gun with ease for about 2 months until I bought new tape. I thought the tape roll was defective, as you said. It has been tearing my paper every time. Now with this new info, I can try using my gun again! Thanks again for sharing!
thanks so much for the video...I come back to it almost every time I load a roll, and todays roll is backwards like yours and I got it fixed, more and more rolls come like that!!! I have the atg 700 scotch and I buy my tape on ebay so thats probably my problem, but local stores dont carry mine and if they do at an office supply it is outrageously priced!!! thanks again!!!!
This happened to me in the middle of a roll. I was going along happily doing my crafting and all of a sudden the stickiness was not on the bottom, this was so helpful to me. I thought I was going nuts trying to figure out why this was not working. It must be humidity or tempertature that sometimes causes this, but i have been using this ATG gun for over 5 years and this has not happened before!!
Thank goodness for your explanation. After an hour of cursing I could not make my gun work. I had that problem with the adhesive sticking to the wrong side of the paper!!!! This is the best Scotch could do for a design?? Without your tutorial this gun would be in bits. Thank you!!!!

OMG...I can't believe after doing it along with you, that my tape roll is working right now! I know that after this happening to me several times before, and returning the tape to the store because I thought it was defective, that I hadn't tried this?! But for whatever reason, probably my temper, that I have never had any success with getting it to work until today! It is not rocket surgery! WTF! HelloNicole!! I am so HAPPY I saw this video!! OMGoodness... I do not know how many rolls of that tape I have trashed and I was ready t trash my tape gun! I absolutely LOVE my atg and I was just lying here checking out videos on atgs and thought I will try troubleshooting, I thought..what was I out of, right? I saw all kinds of fixes and I just thought I would show them to my husband, then tell him what is wrong with it, then see what he comes up with. I can tell u exactly what he would do..throw it in the trash and tell me to go buy another one, then we would be right back in the same situation!! So, I went right to my tape gun, opened it up..turned my tape around, and transferred it up and over, like you said...and there it was....FIXED!!! YEAH!!! I ran it over and over and it was no longer falling off on the right side!! I was threading it correctly but could not figure out what the heck was wrong with the sticky and I knew it was suppose to be on the bottom, but I could not get it to stay..but it is called PERSISTENCE!!!! Shared this video with an Amazon customer who was having the problem you solved at the end. I had just bought my ATG gun which included 2 rolls of tape. After dealing with the issue of tape "wandering" off the rolls/guides I was hesitant to fully commit to ATG after reading reviews about the "defective" rolls of tape. Now that I have solutions to both, I'm pulling the trigger and fully committed to ATG! LOL

Thank you so much! I bought this tape glider several years ago and it always messes up while I'm doing a project. I had the exact problem you talked about. It seemed like the tape roll was upside down and would not dispense tale correctly. I ended up with a tangled mess of tape and paper backing coming out on the underside of the glider. I was about to sell it or break it! I was so frustrated! Your directions and explanations were so clear. I got correctly loaded on the first try! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I bought 36 rolls of scotch tapes and 16 of them had glue on the inside of the roll. Thankfully I did keep them and thanks to you, I can actually use them as intended! This tip alone made my year; coupled with the shim, girl you made my decade!! I sell cards, and scrapbook and use my tag gun almost daily when I'm at home. So these two tips are mind-blowing! Again many thanks.
I am so happy I found your video even though it was 4 years old! I was seriously ready to ditch my ATG because of this problem, knowing I was putting it on correctly and having the sticky on the wrong side. Have wasted lots of tape too because of this issue with the rolls. It doesn't help that the rolls last so long that I can't remember if I am installing it correctly the next time lol.

Thanks so much for the second part of the video referring to “defective tape”. I had been using my gun with ease for about 2 months until I bought new tape. I thought the tape roll was defective, as you said. It has been tearing my paper every time. Now with this new info, I can try using my gun again! Thanks again for sharing!

thanks so much for the video...I come back to it almost every time I load a roll, and todays roll is backwards like yours and I got it fixed, more and more rolls come like that!!! I have the atg 700 scotch and I buy my tape on ebay so thats probably my problem, but local stores dont carry mine and if they do at an office supply it is outrageously priced!!! thanks again!!!!
This happened to me in the middle of a roll. I was going along happily doing my crafting and all of a sudden the stickiness was not on the bottom, this was so helpful to me. I thought I was going nuts trying to figure out why this was not working. It must be humidity or tempertature that sometimes causes this, but i have been using this ATG gun for over 5 years and this has not happened before!!
Thank goodness for your explanation. After an hour of cursing I could not make my gun work. I had that problem with the adhesive sticking to the wrong side of the paper!!!! This is the best Scotch could do for a design?? Without your tutorial this gun would be in bits. Thank you!!!!

OMG...I can't believe after doing it along with you, that my tape roll is working right now! I know that after this happening to me several times before, and returning the tape to the store because I thought it was defective, that I hadn't tried this?! But for whatever reason, probably my temper, that I have never had any success with getting it to work until today! It is not rocket surgery! WTF! So, thank you so much for your clear, simple explanation and tutorial. Hopefully, I will never have to return a stubborn roll of tape again! xo

HelloNicole!! I am so HAPPY I saw this video!! OMGoodness... I do not know how many rolls of that tape I have trashed and I was ready t trash my tape gun! I absolutely LOVE my atg and I was just lying here checking out videos on atgs and thought I will try troubleshooting, I thought..what was I out of, right? I saw all kinds of fixes and I just thought I would show them to my husband, then tell him what is wrong with it, then see what he comes up with. I can tell u exactly what he would do..throw it in the trash and tell me to go buy another one, then we would be right back in the same situation!! So, I went right to my tape gun, opened it up..turned my tape around, and transferred it up and over, like you said...and there it was....FIXED!!! YEAH!!! I ran it over and over and it was no longer falling off on the right side!! I was threading it correctly but could not figure out what the heck was wrong with the sticky and I knew it was suppose to be on the bottom, but I could not get it to stay..but it is called PERSISTENCE!!!! Thank you so much for giving me back my beautiful PINK ATG!!!! I'm forever grateful Nicole!!
