Even though he choked exceptionally hard, I respect this guy. I would have stopped, and tried to start over again, but he stuck with it. He knew he was pissing the whole thing down his leg, and you could see it was fucking with him, but he kept at it.
To keep going, do your time and finish the song, when you did so objectively bad a job at it, shows character, and I respect that. I don't know that I would have had the balls to stand there with that "i'm dying" look on my face and finish it.
Also, would any of us have ever seen this or given one fuck if he was actually a competent performer and did this the right way? Hell no we wouldn't. That he sucked so bad and choked so hard, and obviously cared that he was doing bad, but didn't actually crack, makes this guy a total Boss.

here's what happened: Reva's about to retire and she wants to clown some of these no talent biscuitheads that she's been "teaching" for several years, so she sets them up on this show with tunes they can't sing - then hits them with the Flo Jo speed on the keys just to leave them in the dust. Oh - and you know she's actually from the Baptist Church down the road... trying to fry up these Methodists and their no talent choir. Rev. Jones was fired the next day.

I have enjoyed this clip over and over. YES it is funny,John forgetting the words and some of the expressions, that makes it great ! Yes he has a very nice voice. Reva gets a bit carried away explaining things which adds to the comedy also. She is also wonderful on the piano and dedicated ,proud of her show. Very nice. But if it were perfect , John and Reva would not be the Stars they are today .! It is a treasure!!!
