DULAN! Exploring Southern Taiwan's Hidden Gem Surfer Town | Taiwan Travel Vlog

Located in southeastern Taiwan near the city of Taitung is Taiwan's small hippie/surfer town of Dulan. Just a short bus ride from the train station, this small town has a close-knit community of expats. I was also told while there it is the "whitest" place in Taiwan per capita because of the amount of foreign surfers, expats, and hippies who have been slowly developing the small town into a popular tourist destination for both Taiwanese and backpackers alike.
In this video, I take off on a walk around the town and offer money-saving tips, show the sights, and crack a few jokes along the way while trying to avoid getting a sun burn on my newly shaved head. This nearly concludes my series on backpacking around Taiwan, as I had to leave back to the states a few weeks later. Do the local taiwanese shops near the hostels speak English or have English menus

Most at least have an English menu, you'll just have to ask. As for the shops selling beach towels or tourist items the English levels are much lower.

@@aos1762 Yes, simple. The bus stops in parking spot 6 I believe and you can use your easycard on it.
