In my many years as a culchie living in Dublin as a wage slave, with absolutely nothing to show for it in the end, I saw more of me in inner-city people than any others - Making-do with whatever is in the press, drinking a pint to get over it, or maybe seven sometimes, keeping an eye on your young one so she didn't get manipulated by the wrong sort, making sure your young lad didn't too out of control, and all done on a very sharp budget. Irish people getting by, constantly nurturing hope for a better time in the future for their people. The hope is gone now.
We have to keep rising up.
I too am a culchie who lived in and loved the North Side City for many years. When I walk through areas of it now Im almost reduced to tears at times, but my inner strength prevails because the hope is not gone, not yet. It may feel like it at times, but we can still win this. Granted, there's a only a small window of opportunity left, but it can be done. The outcome of the 7th of June will be a telling sign.

As a true north side dub from ballymun, working on building sites with our culchie brothers the craic and slagging would be great, all in good faith knowing we were all irish and this is our ancestorial home, we have always been fighting for our freedoms through the generations and today is no different however this is a fight for our irishness on our historical lands, we have to over come this and we will prevail ❤️
