Your videos are great; you should do what seems best for you. Personally, I like it when you talk while you work. It seems more like we’re there with you. Thanks!
I'm always entertained by you. And if you're concentrating, then so am I. I think your videos are perfect the way they are. No need to add an extra step. And I lost my big pruners (secutars) in the woods this fall, i think. Lol. I'm also annoyed I have to buy another. But... I guarantee that as soon as we replace the lost items... we will almost immediately find what was lost. 😂
I dig how you talk through live, and throw some voiceovers in when you’re clarifying a point. Your flow is great, Jelle. Great job with the winter prunes.
great video, I enjoy both formats of dialogue. When you talk and work often you reveal your thought processes, which shift as you consider each problem. I enjoy understanding the depth of each decision. Edit: also the black screen really helped to show the striking beauty of this tree. Thanks for the extra effort to display the tree in a cinematic way.
Your videos are great mate 👌 I enjoy listening to your commentary on the work you do, keep doing what your doing it’s real and it’s interesting. Thankyou for sharing your knowledge and time with us 🙏
Enjoyed this video, I am always nervous with maples as they are prone to dieback. I prefer a running commentary because you talk about the problems as you come across them & explain what to do next 😊
"Except for trees. I love buying trees." - felt that one :D Amazing piece of material that maple, but more importantly: your Dogwood bonsai is absolutely rockin it! Both shape and color bring a burning flame to mind, stunningly contrasting with that deeper-blue, nicely toned pot.
I've only ever heard you calm and speaking slowly. What do you sound like when you're excited? I assume it's something like my brother's father in-law who cusses in two languages while working on his car. I love these because it's so relaxing, and then you show the detail of what you're doing a couple of times over, which is very helpful for those of us who are knowledge challenged.
Wow, that's one handsome maple! You said it was growing in a field. Your field? Where you broke the spade? I'd like to see the developement of this tree!
what type of tree was the tree that you defoliated? love those vibrant branches! I really want to see your thoughts on the larger field-grown tree. Where do you even start with selecting branches on that tree?
That was a dogwood. Cornus. I will do some basic styling in Spring, after it rebounces in fall I will put the video out from finding it in the field in fall, all the way to the first fall in a pot.
Cutting back hard is for when you absolutely do not like your existing branch ramification. The thicker the branches you cut the worse the scars will be, so you better have a good reason to do this!
"I hate buying stuff. Except for trees. I love buying trees." I couldn't agree with you more!
Me too!
I like you to talk as you go. It makes the viewer feel like they are there with you while you teach us.
OK, thx!

Yeah, best way to find them. Buy new ones, toss the receipt and there they are!

I appreciate that! Thanks!

:) Glad to hear it is helpfull
I love hearing it raw, gets your raw thoughts about it as it happens
:) OK then. In some cases it is take 4 that is kept though :).

Glad you enjoyed!
Another informative design/seasonal video. Again I caught a few ideas I had not thought of before. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!

Yeah, it is one of my favorites, especially considering the humble beginnings!
Your commentary is great. I also slow my speech down when I concentrate more.
:) Brain distraction :)
I'm getting my tea ready! Another great video! This will help me prepare for winter, which is happening in like 5 months
Plenty of sun ahead then still!

Hi, you haven't said what species it is and I don't recognize the leaves, it looks a beautiful red.
Thank you for all videos 😊
It is a cornus, dogwood.

Nah, in a growersfield th-cam.com/video/9KZaFHDCDLs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=V9jcxotedDVqlIl6&t=5
@GrowingBonsai Ah, well an awesome looking tree none the less!
Jelle, have you ever thought of designing merch? I would 100% buy a hoodie from you
I have considered it. But for the time being, I am not selling merch. I was actually thinking coffee mugs and scissors!
@GrowingBonsai 100% I'll buy your coffee mug and scissors! But I'll drink tea instead

Is that a Red Osier Dogwood? I have one that I’m developing too. Have you noticed anything interesting or difficult about them?
Well.. It is a dogwood. Which exactly, not sure. Seedling in the garden.
👍👌🙂
:D
Is the tree in the blue pot a dogwood?
@@ScottTheExperimentalist yes!
I thought that fall was the best time to cut big branches on maples, no? If not, oops.
Sounds like an interesting topic to cover!
Why not cut back hard?
Why would I do that?
@ I thought it would allow new branch structure?
@@mooneagle4772 Not sure what you are suggestion tbh?

:D
So you like to talk? OK. I am a listener.
ok then :)
Crack on working and talking 😊
Boom!
Way to go, thanks
Thanks for watching!
