This pickup truck Elon introduced this morning on TH-cam that he stated cost 8,000 dollars sounds mythological. If true it will be a major market disruptor. It sounds like a bare bones single motor promo starting at 8,000, likely going up to 25,000 or more loaded. I believe him and will be first in line to buy one, having logged 250,000 on a Ford F-150 I bought new for 16,000 in 1994, but I'm almost 80 so it's doubtful I will live long enough to take delivery.

How about, Robo-Taxi variants, a delivery car/van to specialized in delivery with Freezer, Cooler, and Hot food compartments/containers, no rear seats, no passenger seat.
An Ambulance with a Gurney replacing the passenger seat, a technician in the "driver seat", once a patient is inside they can be attended to stabilized on the trip to the ER. The gurney could have a Hoya Lift built in to allow just 1 person to accompany the patient in many cases, the passenger door will allow access to the patient at arrival to the ER for communication.
In some cases a couple of emergency technicians could follow the Robo-Ambulance in a standard Robo-Taxi to help in assisting with more difficult stabilization ie. a heavy or uncooperative or disabled patient, the diagnostic equipment would run off the batteries. Many patients would be alert and able to work with the emergency technician, the drivers seat would be more of a bench seat, alongside the Gurney that could seat more technicians from the accompanying Robo-Taxi for more critical care, OR could seat a Loved one/caregiver alongside the technician for emotional support and medical history (if appropriate).
It recently cost $5000 to drive my sister Three Blocks to the ER, although she did require stabilization before being driven to the ER.
    Cheers from San Diego

I want a 'SpiderBot', I have homes in florida.... one has very low angle attic... I often have to hire a little dude to run either Security wires or whatever. Would like an Autonomous SpiderBot to run Ethernet lines, speaker cables, video cables ect ect I would like to have a 3" mini-Person-Bot... so I could avatar link up to and make believe I am in the show 'Land of the Giants' and maybe play with Lizards that are normally 4" and would be 10ft... I can think of so many scenarios for the bot chips....

Alternative view point on the delay of the next gen $25K car... I believe that it is a valid point that they needed to get the CT ramped and gain some expertise in the manufacturing process and parts supplies ramped up but I also believe that they couldn't commit to building it until they had the breakthrough of v12. If they would have had Mexico ready to go now (original plan) and it was a level 5 car only, they couldn't use it for many months, disrupting the ramp and potentially resulting in a huge risk to the company if V12 didn't work. IMO the timing of the new vehicle release date is tied more to FSD than the unboxed model. Once they have the v12 or v13 as "approved", then the factories will be built and expanded a full speed.

    • @Maustah
      @Maustah 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Whatever "reasons" everyone makes up, in the end it is a delay. And delays are oke up untill some point. But Tesla did not offer clarity, it's guesswork for us.
Don't like hoe Herbart acts like the reasons he gives for the delay is common knowledge .

Seems inspired leadership focuses small teams on engineers and scientists to accomplish designs efficiently. Several of the huge programs and products we use today were first created by individuals or very small groups - Apple and spreadsheets are examples.

You missed the first line, Linux Kernel Engineer. So these developments could end up in the general Linux Kernel, based on its licensing. If that is the case it is out in the open and other companies and engineers could make their developments on this. Let’s see what happens.

Ten years ago or so, Musk talked about 'droids' doing construction autonomously on Mars. The mind boggles with potential applications for mobile and/or immobile intelligent machines. A few models of robotaxis isn't even the ante for this game.

I guess the next phase of inference is capturing 3D & sound. This would enhance AI discernment. Conceivably its already considering movement when discerning whether something is, say, a human. Don't want to run that over.

4nm is not "very, very cutting edge", that is current CPU tech.
1 and 2nm are very cutting edge, made by apple and others currently (on shelves 2025).

Not sure why you think Tesla wouldn't sell DOJO chips in the future? That is just found money, at little incremental cost. Nvidia does not make chips, they design them and have them manufactured, which is why they have 80% margins. Tesla has already done the hard lifting and expense- designing the chips and the base layer, level 1 & 2 layers. Selling that outside Tesla would be so low incremental cost and high margin, I am sure they have contemplated that.

The Robtaxi must be able to read signs and human pedestrians/emergency services verbal and non-verbal cues as well as paying passenger instructions.
Thus the FSD chip will need to do a lot more inside a Robotaxi. Robotaxi will be a new car unless Tesla wants to cover the cost to upgrade all existing Teslas on the road, which will be very expensive.
I think owners will want to get the economic benefit of putting their car on the Robotaxi fleet to earn an income and thus charging to upgrade say @$1-2k is do-able in my eyes if you can earn $10-20k on the fleet per yr.
Obviously if you buy a Tesla as a second or third car specifically put on the fleet 24-7 then you can earn even more. 😊

How do you think the Senior Senator from California is going to vote when his FSD Robot badly injures a road worker by going through a quiet week end construction zone where everyone is exceeding the speed limit and the robot is just keeping up with the traffic. You have got to tone this down it's a long way off (Fly by wire in 3 demensions)
