Rebecca will always be my favorite So Weird episode. The song still makes me cry. I remember singing this for a talent show when I was 11 or 12 and no one knew what it was from.
Listening to this at 29, is a whole new experience than at 11. I thought I understood it way back then, now I relate to every word. Everyone has their own Rebecca. Thank you for sharing these and Keeping So Weird alive.
Man I've remembered this song for the last 25 years but hearing the song again as an adult is just so moving and so sad. A devastating trauma. Your best friend in the world is gone one day? The house is empty, the family's gone, and you never know why? The child would have thought it was her fault. How do you recover from that? How can you trust new friends? The fact that she still misses her to this day is a testament to how special their friendship was to her. 💔 😭
Rebecca is my favorite song from So Weird. Seriously that episode could be a movie. I remember emailing Disney asking when So Weird was coming out on DVD probably 10 years ago and the person responded with how much they loved the show, too. So happy to finally be able to rewatch the series on Disney+.
I emailed them, too!! About fifteen years ago I tried to find every executive’s email to try to get it out on disc. I was shocked to see it on Disney+ when it launched.
What hurts more than a Rebecca is making a friend and never knowing if you ever meant as much to them as they did to you. So many people who've just forgotten all about me or who I just can't ever reach again. To those who had a Rebecca, at least you had one.
It's insane how much change happens in such a short time. When I saw this show as a kid, almost two decades ago now, it was okay. I really didn't feel anything. I've been watching this series again, and just saw this episode, and I couldn't help but cry. I actually get it.
This song is so beautiful and so moving. Molly's pain in this song stayed with me through the years. As did the Rebecca's when she heard Molly singing it.
Rebecca moves across the world She's a scirocco on the sand She is the Nile that flows forever Cutting a wound across the land She'll be your friend before you know her She'll have your trust before it's earned But like any nomad she will wander Breaking the hearts of all concerned History clouds what we remember The one that you wanted her to be Mystery shrouds her like an island But it's an island in a lonely sea Oh, Rebecca Oh, Rebecca I was thirteen going on forty Wasting my summer on the beach Burned on the outside, raw in the middle That Molly's just too hard to reach But Rebecca moved in, yeah she moved me She was the best friend I'd ever had And then one day she went away Didn't think I'd ever feel that bad Where did you go? Why did you lie? Why did you leave without saying goodbye? How 'bout the promise That you made me? Was it really so easy to trade me For another town Another friend Another beginning without any end, So many times I would've called you If I'd had your number in my hand You were the one I would've turned to When things didn't go the way I'd planned I never got a chance to tell you Things didn't go the way I'd planned... History clouds what I remember The one that I wanted her to be Mystery shrouds her like an island Does she still remember me? My life is like a turnstile So many strangers passing through There've been more than I can number But I still remember you Oh, Rebecca Oh, Rebecca
Recently started watching through the entire show (thank you Disney+). I'm towards the end of S2 and Rebecca is still my favorite episode. The paranormal aspect aside, the episode was beyond amazing.
His name wasn't Rebecca, was Eddy. After having lived such intimate moments, one day he disappeared an no one else heard from him. He didn't say goodbye, he didn't explain. I searched for a long time and still no answers. This song seems to describe my experience and that's why it hurts so much to listen to it... That's why that episode hurts so much...
It's ashamed Cara Delizia left So Wierd and more ashamed that So Wierd went off aire. I wish I was so wealthy that I could make some more independent shows of So Wierd where Cara Delizia/ Fiona Phillips returns and more adventures to come. You were the best Cara Delizia.
Wow, no dislikes, perfect. This song is beautiful and moving, and Rebecca is one of the best episodes of So Weird. I wish Disney Channel shows were more like this one now. Even the 3rd season, despite its lighter tone, still had some really cool self-contained episodes, even if they didn't contain an overarching narrative.
I absolutely agree! The third season was a lot more lighthearted, but it was still really good. Honestly, I like how the show explored Amor comedic and lighthearted side to the Paranormal Activity. Even then, there were some pretty deep moments in that season, and the music was still so gorgeous.
@@tiffanygray Hey I commented on this 5 years ago, cool to see you replying! The 3rd season of this show is still a lot more watchable than most of the shows Disney Channel came out with during the 2010s
This is fantastic! We all know the piano version from "Rebecca," and the 15 seconds of the acoustic version in "Siren" was such a tease! I really wanted to hear the rest, so thanks a million for this!
Hi Darkwing we are similar to each other. Growing up I was a social outcast that it was hard to have a friend. I can relate to this episode and this song

Megan VanHouten omg yes 31 here! My favorite show. This episode is so sad
Weirdly, one of mine is named Rebecca.
🙏🏽

Yeah we all have our own rebecca I agree
Still gorgeous after all these years. I know it was from a fictional story but gosh...still moving
It's not fictional if it's true.
Man...what is it like 20 years later and I still hear this song in my head randomly?

It's a fan favorite because it's a raw & true episode. That said there are other great episodes to. One of my favorites is "The Rocket".
@@iRocky_ Actually, the song is called The Rock
@@danielcm4237I think Rocky meant the episode singularity. They said other great episodes, not songs. The rocket was the dog in Singularity's name.

So weird actually has really amazing music. This is one of my favorite songs along with the rock!
One of my favorite songs!!!!!!!!
The best song ever!!!🎉
My favorite song and episode of the whole series!! 😍🎶
I was that one friend that left suddenly without having the chance to say goodbye to his best friend so many years ago.

Saw this episode years ago and this song and story made such an impression. It's a haunting melody that never leaves you.
Everyone has their own Rebecca, That`s the magic this song brings to us..

It's ok. ❤
you broke the hearts of all concerned

Still can't sing past "turnstile" without my voice cracking.
That line breaks my heart! It’s a feeling I know all to well! You’re a heck of a song writer!
20 years now. Katrina, I still miss you
Still brings me to tears, such a beautiful song
This touched me in such a special and spiritual way. 💜
Mackenzie is beautiful and amazing!!!!!!
This one was my favorite I had crush on "Fi" and Mackenzie as a kid I was 12 when this show came out
One thing is sure... You really are a joker!
Thanks for all these songs Ive been searching for years!
How did this happen? That sounds like new vocals! Did Mackenzie do this? This is amazing and such a wonderful treat. Thank you so much for this.
It's a studio version of the song that appears on 'Siren' episode
Me enamore de esta canción
A very beautiful voice!
