SCCA Formula Vee Race 9/10/2023 Palmer Racetrack

This was the Sunday morning Formula Vee race. Unfortunately the track was shut down in the afternoon by thunderstorms so we never got the rematch we were looking forward to. The person who comes to this video and doesn't like it either doesn't like motorsport or is very envious, I mean, the desire to drive a racing car, a frustrated desire... Man, this film in the video was TOP, it looks like a cinema film in racing old ones, congratulations and God bless you and keep you always on the slopes and in life!

What an interesting track. I had never heard of it. You don't find many tracks these days naturally built around elevation changes through hilly terrain like this. Outside of Bathurst and the long defunct Amaroo and Catalina racetracks here in Australia, I can barely think of any.

I will not be there but there is an SCCA race this weekend (September 7-8, 2024). It is a club track so there are no spectator races, but most clubs have a one day pass. You can also go and learn to be a volunteer corner worker or other helper. The next closest seat to being in the car is a corner worker!

@@lepamalaga8683 best to contact the Las Vegas SCCA region and find out where there are road races. You might end up looking in CA for cars. There are groups out of Texas and Colorado, but they might be too far. Maybe the F1 race will spur more action in your area.

what is your helmet camera setup?

It is a Cambox V3. Last I looked they are on model 4. camboxamerica.com/en/. When it works it is very good. I did have some issues. I cannot comment on the newer models. I usually run an external camera like a GoPro, or cheaper copy as a backup.
