So, switch players see public test server in the mod menu and allows me to download it and even turn it on.. but I don't know how to get to to it or the other maps that also allow download and turn on
Honestly it looks very similar to so many of the other maps we’ve gotten. I’d love to see more diversity in the maps. It always feels like it just switches back and fourth between two different map styles

You need to play the Canadian shields mod maps. They are so much better than the rubbish maps the snowrunner Devs are producing. And you don't have to pay for it either !
I'd love a Down Under DLC.
The outback of Australia and the mountains of New Zealand, the latter especially with roads small enough to make the scouts and light trucks usefull.
I live in nz, I think the Australian outback would be more fun. Also Dakar would be fun and more middle eastern places, Iran, Iraq. Huge dunes and long sunsets!

not sure if it’s possible. but it would be a nice touch and immersive to see the burnt forest regrow as you compete contracts so by the end it’s all green and beautiful again.
this would probably be a good expirience. so, no this will not happen. i guess i skip this season and wait for a new snowrunner. driving from a to b in the same vehicles with the same loads? i saw everything. i want some new gameplay mechanics. it is very boring.
Here’s my dream fix patch :
- dynamic engine rev sound instead of audio file playing when reving up the engine.
- cockpit dials lights turn on and off with the headlights instead of always on while engine running.
- reversing beeping sounds playing when engaging reverse gear rather than playing when moving backwards while reversing.
- trucks with completely empty fuel tanks take several attempts to start the engine when refilled again.
- when trying to start the engine of truck with empty fuel tank u get the ignition key sound only instead of engine starting and cutting off again.
- water/snow/dirt etc effects on windshield and ability to turn on and off windshield wipers.
- blowing the horn is continuous depending on the kind of truck/car’s horn.
- dynamic hydraulic brakes sounds instead of the same squeaking sound playing and repeating when holding the brakes for longer distances.
- option to recover back to garage without the trucks in the truck option menu.
- tires sound effects, skidding on tarmac , stuck in mud, spinning on gravel…etc
- selecting gears can now be manual.
- selectable radio stations using the truck’s radio including news podcasts talking about the region’s events floods/snowstorms…etc with authentic radio signal static sounds .
- leaving headlights on for too long while engine off can drain the battery causing the ignition key to not start, adding the ability to do a jump lead using winch and start the engine and charge the battery again “battery meter added”.
- level in no longer capped at 30 and hundreds of badges to acquire.
- ability to mark tasks on screens visible to other players to better delegate work and suggest tasks to other players.
- multiplayer have chat window.
- multiplayer now actually works 😊. Snowrunner now use dedicated servers instead of that outdated peer to peer connection.
It’s a sad reality the developers decided to aim the game at pretty much everybody of all ages making the game boil down to “hit the gas and wait til u get there” philosophy , stripping the game of so much details a trucking lover might enjoy especially the fact that this game looks absolutely amazing , the way trucks move and swerve over uneven terrain, the water physics are remarkable, the smoke physics are spectacular, the map design is simply incredible, the sense of place is unmatched, esthetically the game looks spot on but let down by minor details in the hope of casting a broader net to catch more players, at least that’s how I feel.
It's a tough balance, I like that SnowRunner had enjoyed greater success and appeals to a wider audience but I would also love some more depth. Maybe in the sequel. Your list of fixes looks good to me, very thorough!

We can already go to the garage without recovering a vehicle.

Open map, scroll down to garage, and select..
Or manually locate garage on map and select.
Which kinda interrupts the game’s flow..
So why not add an option like “recover without vehicle” for example.
I should say I play on console so I’m not sure it’s an issue on pc..
I love what the SnowRunner team originally created and like many I have sunk many hours into the game. I have also lost interest and I think the devs are milking the formula without any real innovation now. I wish the game offered more driver levels with more useful trailers locked behind them. And I wish they would introduce a jungle or something of a different palette. They could also do with introducing new mechanics like upgrading dirt roads to tarmac etc. The possibilities are endless but it seems like they're taking the easy way out of copy and paste.
Have you even looked at these maps? These offer something new. Same thing with the last update with farming.
Yes I agree with you on this. It really does feel like they're just casually working on stuff. I'm hoping it's because they're working on the next game in this series. Like you said the possibilities are endless. I can think of all kinds of things they could add. I definitely want to support the team so that they can continue to make these games cause no one else is likely to make them as they're so unique.

I always thought the game needed just a little bit of AI. Some stray cars and trucks actually driving around the map. The few maps that have decent size towns feel like it's set in a post apocalyptic Era where you're the only person left alive in the whole world

lol, i live in Ontario, we have mountains, but i wouldnt call them towering, our mountains were larger at one point but the water has eroded most of them away. nice to see some love for my home province, truly underappreciated place of vast wilderness, freedom, untouched, unexplored, deep forest, and mystery

I feel like the devs hate the North American trucks. They keep giving us Russian trucks on North American maps which doesn't make sense. Another thing that doesn't make sense is that your can only put mud tires on a small handful of American trucks. America is the home of mud bogging, monster trucks, and super swampers we have mud tires and put them on trucks all the time.
It is a shame. Or maybe it is to do with pricier licensing.

Agreed and the driving routes are largely rewarding. I think this could be one of the best DLCs although I need more play time and my GPU is failing I think.

Since the new trucks will probably have to be unlocked, im hoping the CAT 745c gets its firefighting water tank as a new addon in game with the dlc

@@ATribeCalledCars The 745C becomes derelict at the end of the task as also the Cat from NW corner of the Albany map and not usable at all. They have a similar fate to the ANK and Lo4F (or whatever) in Belozersk Glades. Can't understand why they don't just disappear as in other recovery tasks.
Lol 15C Canadian Summer, I friggin wish! I live in Ottawa, the capital of Canada, in Eastern Ontario, our average January temperature is -14, and July temperature is 27, although with the humidity and/or wind chill it often feels a lot colder or hotter than that! 15c is the perfect temperature for it to be all year round
That's a good range, we don't get that cold in the south but it was 39.7 at peak in the summer. London was gross lol.
I can say that I'm tentatively excited and a little wary of this upcoming season. Like you said it looks like a Michigan meets Maine kind of mapsets. Hopefully they can give us a bit more soon. Otherwise, I'll see how your review of the actual released season goes before picking it up for myself, once it's out.
Good plan. I shall make a first impressions and/or a full review as we get closer to launch. Just got to fix my GPU or whatever is causing black screens of death, I was hoping to have played through and recorded more footage.

What they NEED to do is figure out a way to put working excavators in the game. Even just one map with a couple of single points.... we need something really new, deformable scenery where you can dig a hole or move a pile of rocks

@@ATribeCalledCars yeah possibly, I'm not technical in that way but me and my friends have experimented using rngs wheel loader and that can scoop up the loose rocks on roads so maybe just a pile of rocks. Either way if they end up doing snowrunner 2 then it's something they should look to do

Man, I just think that a really sustainable and innovative addition would be to do a new season in Brazil, because there is a great variety of biomes and you could mix all the content in one. Does anyone agree with me?

From Saskatchewan, Canada here. I'd like to see them bring in the prairies into the game for farming, to make more use of those tractors and such. However, I'd like to see them work out the mind mumblingly boring repetitive task that it is and put in a system that's a bit different to fix it.
Grand Harvest with 8 loads of potatoes to the airport? Wow, can only drive around in circles so much before you fall asleep.
The farming could do with a slight improvement, or at least something to make doing it more worthwhile.
I really love how Saber takes a real life truck and makes it almost unuseable ingame. That turning radius of that new 8x8 is just..... well.... whatever.... 😜😜
But that's one of the reasons I use mod trucks exlusivly. I just can't cope with these artificial restrictions of the vanilla trucks. But that is stuff most players complain about since day 1. Almost 3 years later we still play Snowrunner - maybe we all are masochistic... 😁😁😇😇
It really does need some tweaking, but I suspect it will be improved. The turning circle is bad but honestly the instability when using Active Suspension and cargo is even worse.
I guess they didn't renew their licenses with American trucks companies... would be nice to see more American made trucks (if not Pacific or Hayes) It's well known that Canadian roads are filled with Russian trucks! (I don't think I've seen a Lada in 20 years)
Agreed, even some more European trucks would be nice.
Ngl i like how Oshkosh trucks are in the game and that they are adding some of my favorites driving a LHS or PLS and HET really is a unique experience especially offroad in tough enviroments where you get to put the trucks through their paces.

I've played nearly 40% of this phase now on the PTS and am enjoying it immensely. With a few decent trucks (long live the Tayga King!!) most of the roads are not so tough so there's not too much tipping over and getting stuck, plus I love that there are some nice sealed roads that get you between maps super quick. My only issue is that so far is that I can't seem to get any water from the water towers into the Derry (or any other) water tank, the option to fill up doesn't seem to be present. Maybe I can only use the Water Booms to get the water though it looked to me like you had no issue filling up in the video... will keep trying things, maybe I'm missing a contract that needs to be done first.
I would assume you are missing a contract as that probably enables the water boom stuff if I remember correctly. Nice to see you are keeping the Tayga King alive. More than two years ago now... How would you rate Ontario?
I was really hoping for new gameplay options. Thefact that I haven't seen a single active fire in any of the videos currently available on TH-cam, it seems to me this DLC is another missed opportunity.
Why aren't we allowed to actively extinguish fires? Why still no wildlife that maybe needs to be rescued? What about citizens or townsfolk needing to be saved from the flames?
The bottom line is, that there is no actual parallel work being done on expanding the capabilities of the underlying engine, which would allow for Snowrunner to be truly taken to the next level. Examples that could be implemented after an engine upgrade are:
- manual gearboxes
- excavators
- extreme weather conditions with storms moving trees and bushes, blizzards and snow storms
- dynamic changes of the environment: wind direction affecting the raging fires, rising and declining water levels with passages suddenly being obstructed after floods, fallen trees, that need to be moved in order to clear roads, mud & rock slides, ...
- and finally the option of climbing out of your truck, which could unlock a whole slew of new possibilities: Survival tasks that could well be added into a theme of escaping the ever expanding fires in the woods? Or even just the time pressure of escaping the flames with your trusted truck of choice before being transformed into a burnt log?
ANYTHING different than just the same-ey stuff we got most of the time:
- more trucks
- more kinds of cargo
- more pick up and deliver jobs
- more maps with no really new gameplay options
I won't hold my breath anymore after the community had asked the devs for years now for features, that could really make the game move towards its potential. I don't want more maps and trucks. I would rather enjoy the existing maps and trucks, but with new features and options added to them.
Please devs: Listen to the community!
All of your suggestions are excellent but I suspect they are difficult to implement or unfeasible for the current game engine. Or maybe stuff is being held back for the sequel, it is hard to say. I would be surprised if there is a Year 4 Pass.
Hopefully not! The game engine needs a major overhaul - especially the physics when driving on roads at greater speeds.
Just got around to the Farming maps and enjoying them except for the faff of finding out which mission I can do next. Also do the cargo balances change every season? Having to navigate to the current mission regularly to click on cargoes to see where to get them and supply power to a construction site before you can see which ingredients you need is irritating. However the game is transformed by Xbox/pc feedback Steering Wheel and pedals.
A wheel really does help. I should finally make a video about that side of SnowRunner.

Seems like I will again enjoy this new map very much - but oh boy please give us Australia or Africa as a scenery with actually new plants/tree textures and models. And integrate more of the "map progress"-feeling: Let me haul tons of cargo not only to rebuild that shiny factory but also the really convenient bridge to it and not just some logs for a river crossing a few miles away to do this. Maybe make it possible only shortly before unlocking of the next map is possible.

Looks similar to Ontario in the summer.
Interestingly however is, that they gave us a new truck with an electrician service truck body and call it a fire truck. Which it could be used for equipment. Yet the previous service body we have is actually a fire truck body repurposed for fuel rather than water.
I like the idea however. Always like new trucks.

When you started saying PTS, I was afraid you would say PTSD. It's a great testament to the game that after 3 years you still don't have PTSD.... or do you have? Blink your eyes 3 times during the next material if you have!
I definitely have PTSD, Amur was too much.
Looks good, but disappointed we can't squirt our hoses.

Sounds like the first Map DLC that manages to capture the feel of the first ~quarter of the Game. While difficult Terrain can be fun, i really like the Idea of having calmer sourroundings where the Garage is. Feels like coming "home". With difficult spots. where i CAN decide: will i go through the harsh terrain and maybe fail, or will i go the more dafer, but way longer trip. These decisions just wherent really there with every new DLC. At least thats what i felt. Moreover i played it a lot with friends. Calm Discord Nights. They aren't interested in being stuck the whole time and just crawling. They aren't interested in Stuff with engines. But they loved the vanilla experience as a whole. Quality of live stuff from Season 1 was great tho. Image transporting Vehicles without staps. Hell :D
Maybe a small town. And from there you start your long Adventures. Sometimes at least. I played over 400h in Snowrunner but i skipped Season 2 completely, tbh, because season 1 was not what i loved about the game. But of course, that is different for everyone.
Also, it is kind of lame to have every Vehicle maxed out and there is almost NO use of older, less capable Vehicles. There needs to be Maps that offer both. I guess thats why Michigan is so popular overall. It is the Mix of a bit civilisation and the feeling of knowing that there are ways i can't go with what i have right now. But i can try it. With everything just Ice and deep Snow/mud it is ... boring. I also love LIGHT offroading with a rig from time to time. Just unimportant 2 cents.
What i learned while i was living in Iceland in my early 20s: Adventure is only appreciated by most People, because they know they have a place where its nice and warm. Makes the Adventure special. Mostly. Sorry to everyone that does not have that. A home i mean. But then again, you'll maybe won't be interested in playing Snowrunner in the first place.
It does, it's nothing particularly new but the satisfaction is high and progress is rarely too slow or tedious. I'd say most people will enjoy it.

This game was so time-consuming whenever I first got it. I got it again a few days ago to find out mods are now a thing on console. I've been having a lot of fun recently, and I'm finishing up Michigan.

That new Zikz seems much too similar to Step Crocodile, size, fuel tanks, tires... a little bit of disappointment, frankly speaking. For example something inspired by Zil 131 would be much more interesting: a 6x6, but of the lighter kind, and a common basis for firetrucks in real world too.
It definitely has a lot in common, also it is comically slow. I suspect it will be adjusted soon.

@@sol756db Not really, just seems like a GPU thing as trying to play games is when it blacks out and I used official vendor drivers. All was fine until recently, so I suspect the hardware is failing. Though it is hard to tell completely.
Tatra 813 is me favoriten truck i hole we can get some firelights and a water tank for it. It has a Red and neon yellow coloroption witch would make it a awesome bouild

Some time ago, I just had constant strong friezes in the game. I have a VERY powerful computer, and the graphics settings do not affect them at all. I tried installing on different disks, reinstalling WIndows, going through different PC hardware, but nothing helped. I can't play this game anymore, but I really want to.

One map seems fair, and you could make it that offroad trucks are needed to complete it.

I just want a reason to pull out some of my less capable off roaders but still capable haulers 😁
I hope that the creators increase the number of loads that we have to delivery in every task... people have a lots of trucks and its time to put them all at service, in missions when you need to transport for examples 10-15 (instead of 2-3) trucks of wood and we have to make a convoy to deliver everything at same time, in my opinion the creators are only worried with graphics realist (and its an amazing game, my favorite), but for those that are playing, I think the should have more challenges in every load we take...
For the scout vehicles it would be cool if they recreated many of the famous 4x4 trails in the US that you could get badges for completing. I'm thinking like Moab, famous trails in Colorado, etc Kind of like Jeep gives you a badge

The map looks really pretty but i really want some more diversity. With the fire theme I would have loved to see forest fires to drive through. Have you ever seen dash cam videos of that? It’s terrifying and would be a great obstacle
So, are they not distancing themselves from real world locations like we thought, or was this content set in stone prior to that decision?
I had actually forgotten about that, maybe it was a reverse decision. Or perhaps it was just certain locations that would no longer be mentioned.

I don’t think 15 C is a reference to summer is in Ontario because they’re extremely hot . Also we don’t have any forest fires really in Ontario but I guess that’s cool ha ha6:24
I like Snow Runner, but I wish there was more strategy in the actual game play. Some reason to use specific trucks instead of just using the "best" truck for everything.
Easier maps do provide more truck freedom but you're right, a little more strategy would be nice. Although I suspect too much complication would be out of the scope of the current game engine.
Okay I stopped what I was doing the second you said it. I hope there isn't some silly instructions like not stopping the video at any point.

I spent a while looking at the history, it's a combination of two words apparently and I think the Brits were among the first to say Ontario. But the 'teh' element has French vibes. So now I'm confused lol.
I really like this game, but watching this video reminded me why I haven't played it much. And that is the fact that there's no NPC interaction of any kind. And you can't even exit your vehicles. Beautiful maps and great vehicles to play with even on consoles. But it would just be much cooler if there was some type of interaction with NPCs.

When is Season 9 officially release? Places say 1-1-23 but that's obviously not true. You can buy the pass but looks like it doesn't include anything right now.
Just placeholder dates until about two weeks before launch usually. Nothing official yet because it depends on console approval and development issues, both of which are moving targets.

Pretty highly, could be one of my favourites. If I can get my PC running properly again I will get a first impressions done. If not, I shall definitely do a full review nearer the launch.

No potatoes so far though maybe there are some hidden under the seat of the new Zikz.
They have released so many different trucks, which all share the same attachments. We now have so many trucks to choose from, but it makes little to no difference which one we'll choose for our mission. More DLCs, more more and more money goes to Saber, with no difference in the gameplay for us. For once, give us something unique. Give us a MZKT-79221 with a long log attachment, AND a long log trailer, so we can transport two long log cargos at once, to make our life a little easier with logging, which each mission takes ages to complete, going back and forth. Let our money spent on DLCs be worth it for once.
Is it me or when I drive the ZiZ 566A, the steering was weird, it was quite slow and didnt return straight
So when it gets boring to those guys on pts , then they release it to the public.
