Community 3x17 Reaction - "Basic Lupine Urology". This Community/Law & Order mashup is just another perfect episode. So well done. If you'd like to check out this FULL watchalong head over to www.patreon.com/screensanctum
awesome thank you. i love this show. i can't wait to finish so i can start rewatching everything and noticing everything you all have told me i missed.
You'll notice it a bit the last part of this season, it too was in danger. Pretty much every season was in danger - there were even protests outside NBC's 30 Rock building with people chanting "this is the darkest timeline" during this season. Great episode. Oh and a warning, there's an episode "Digital Estate Planning" that was placed a bit out of order. You'll notice it feels randomly placed there... it's like 3 episodes away from this one.
i wish i could be there chanting lol. Oh shoot. sooooo should i watch it in listing order or should i watch DEP earlier? I assume to not confuse myself just go with how its presented lol
The autopsy was performed by Leslie Hendrix, who played coroner Dr Elizabeth Rogers on Law & Order, LO:SVU, LO: Criminal Intent, and LO: Trial by Jury. They got her for less than a day because one or more of these shows were in production.
Regarding the show's ratings, Community was produced during the era where Nielsen ratings still ruled the TV landscape. Even though millions were watching Community the whole run (later proven during the final season since it streamed) for some reason the families chosen for the Nielsens weren't interested. Turns out sample bias is a real thing!
Well, I am not sure if that's it. Millions of people were watching the last season on Yahoo, because it was accesible also to people outside of the US. I think the low ratings were also accredited to no advertising and Community competing with some other big TV shows like TBBT, or bad time slots. Although I am sure Nielsen ratings weren't the most accurate measure.
@@terentule It's like arrested development to me. I watched it like 10 years ago. My friends were like watch this show, it's funny and it was canceled. I watched it and was like HOW WAS THIS SHOW CANCELD lol
@5:00 You cut away but in the background 2 extras are messing with the Community producers and nobody noticed on the day. A female comes out of the building looking guilty and wipes her mouth, quickly followed by a guilty looking guy that does his zipper up.
one thing that always bothers me about this episode is that those arent yams. those are sweet potatos. both are root vegetables and grow from a vine, but they are very very different. the vine itself is different. the skin of the yam is harsh, almost like tree bark, while a sweet potato has soft delicate skin like a potato. the taste is also quite different. yams arent sweet. yams also tend to be bigger(althought a very small yam will be smaller than a large sweet potato) on average. a yam vine usually produces one yam, two if you're lucky. a sweet potato vine produces as many as it possibly can, if you give it enough loose soil it will produce one almost everywhere it roots, which is quite a lot of places....
@@screensanctum those are sweet potatos, they are usually bright orange, but there are some that are more greenish, or even yellowish.....and there are some varieties that are purple. yams tend to be close to white, some are a bit yellowish, but much more pale than the palest sweet potato. i grow yams, but not sweet potatos.

Such a fun episode! Gives me chicken fingers vibes from season 1. Love a good stylized episode. 🥰
i can't get over how often they do special episodes like this and how they ALWAYS nail it on the head.
I just caught up with all of your Community episodes. Looking forward to seeing the rest. 🙂

The official Community channel has bloopers, Dan Harmon's "Cast Evaluations" after seasons 1 and 2, plus a few videos on the Easter Eggs. :)

@@screensanctum ehh it's not crucial. It'd just throw you off for a second before you roll with it, so keep watching as normal

it boggles my mind that a show this good, great writing, great ideas, diverse cast, was always in fear of being canceled. :(

That’s a weird take. The show did okay but not compared to it’s monster competitiors like 30 Rock and Glee etc.
@@tempsitch5632 I always forget about which huge shows were out at the same time.

Basic Lupine Urology. Wolf dick. Dick Wolf. Get it ?
Starburns actor is not an actor and asked to be killed off so he could produce his own shows.
aww man ill have to go back to the original episode to look at it again. cool catch, thank you

I always wondered if it was intentional. Like Italian flag in Spanish class intentional
