    Sabbath Knave sounds fantastic!

My expectation of this was more "Psycho Man" drivel but I was floored when I first heard "Damaged Soul". Rubin apparently gave them a swift kick in the ass to focus in on a proper release, as any fan of classic Sabbath would, so I give him credit for that. I came across a Russian EP which they released on some dates over there, and there's additional songs from the 13 vault including "Season of the Dead" which I believe is as good as anything from the 13 cycle. Good on them. I hoped they had one last great release in them and this was it. I'd like Bill to have joined them but I'll take it as is. Delighted it hit number one over here. Not that I pay attention to charts, but it might it well be a great Sabbath record on the top of any that I do.

I listened to 13 when it came out in 2013, but have never returned to it since. Cathedral's last album came out at around the same time and I liked that a lot more.
I saw them live on the "The End" tour in Krakow in 2016. They played zero songs from 13, only the classics (at least those Ozzy could sing). I heard that when you would get the VIP package for the shows on that tour, you could go see the soundcheck, where they played Symptom of the Universe and Megalomania as instrumentals. The new drummer was alright, I guess Bill wouldn't have been able to play a 10 minute drum solo, so the other three could rest.
Last thing, you guys should be really proud of your Brummie bands - Sabbath, Priest, half of Zeppelin, Napalm Death, and so on.

Definitely. I keep meaning to do a 'live from the Bonham memorial' episode!

      Looking forward to that!

Who played the drums on the new version of your theme song?
    It sounds really good.

I know! He is the 'Third Wenton' of old school friends. He's also a semi pro drummer, which is an understatement- bloody good player, that was us just warming up for a jam. I hear a lot of Phil Collins in his playing, but not sure if he'd agree with that- he likes the heavy stuff. He's been in a couple of bands form Wales, most notably The Reasoning.

He was on some of your older videos right? thinking of ELP or something like that

      Yes, he's excellent.
I'm a drummer and that fill he plays at the start is clever and difficult to pull off.
The minute I heard the China (dustbin lid) crash, I knew he was into metal ;-)

I think this may have been the first Sabbath Album I heard completely. Was very suprised about Zeitgeist, until I found out that it wasn't that special for Sabbath to do 'light' stuff...

Just curious, what’s the bad sabbath album? Is it Born Again?

I think Born Again is amazing (but also wrong). Forbidden is woeful, though.

I can’t believe you had anything good to say about it. Because every other channel that has reviewed it absolutely slaughtered it.

Really? That surprises me. Was certainly well received at the time.
      ... yeah, I don't actually watch TH-cam reviews!

This is a decent album. It’s definitely them trying to do Master of Reality again though.

It's a bit bland. Black Sabbath by the numbers. With a few exceptions. I discovered the band Orchid from that same era and that i still listen to if i want modern Sabbath. Not 13. The drumming doesn't fit.

I was rather hoping you were going to review Heaven and Hell. This thing is a lumpen, badly produced cash-in. I played it twice. P.S. Ward One is a great little album.

      Yeah I like Ward One.
