EASY CROCHET CHRISTMAS STOCKING | CROCHET TRADITIONAL STOCKING | BEGINNER FRIENDLY TUTORIAL

Follow along with this beginner friendly tutorial to make one of my traditional christmas stockings. I have kept this pattern as simple as possible so that everybody can enjoy and make a gorgeous stocking either to give as gifts or to decorate your home with this festive season.
In this tutorial you will learn how to make a magic ring, a double crochet and a half treble crochet (I use UK terminology in the US they are single crochet and half double crochet :) we will also be learning how to crochet into the back loop only to give the stocking a subtle but beautiful texture.... I really hope that you enjoy this pattern as much as I did creating it

Amazing video, i have never crocheted before but made a semi respectable on my first go, albeit it using treble crochet through both loops 😂. Started a second one and i think it is right but it looks so much smaller than yours and more rigid? Is this partly because i am doing it quite tight? Or could it be the wool? I am using 100g 100%acrylic?

Hi Rita
To make it smaller in size you could follow the same pattern but use a DK yarn and use anywhere between a 3mm - 4mm hook depending on how much smaller you wanted to go :)

What am i doing wrong. I got up to row 24... why does my seem go diagonal not straight up. 😂 i used stich markers in stitch 1 and counted 48 stiched each row 🤦🏼‍♀️. What have i done?

I've answered my own question, I know where I've gone wrong!!! I was putting my first stitch into the wrong place 🤦🏼‍♀️ flipping heck. Good job this was an intended practice piece!

I treated it like amigurumi. Didn't join and chain one. Marked my 1st stitch and worked in a continuous round. Makes no seam.

what do you call a real double crochet and a tripple crochet if yall call a single crochet a double?

Why do you move over so many stitches before starting the heel? Could you have started the heel where you left of ?

It's so the heel is centered on the seem and you don't see the seem on the side
