The Foo Fighters are awesome. Dave is the best. And if you wind up going down the rabbit hole, even their covers are amazing. Baker Street is in my rotation.
Thanks for the mention of Baker Street....I had never heard it before. I think I like it better than Gerry Rafferty's original. Have you seen the videos of their set at the Cubby Bear at Wrigley field? They did a cover of Miss You that I prefer to the Stones' version.
I was fortunate enough to see Foo Fighters at Leeds Festival in 2019 when Taylor Hawkins was still with us, he was a beast on the drums and had a huge solo on a rising platform, a memory I'll treasure being there. Such a great band, The Pretender, Best of You, My Hero... all great songs
This is many Foo fans favorite songs (mine included) and there's a reason they close every show with it. There are a lot of things you should listen to from them, The Pretender, Best of You, My Hero will be requested tons of times and with good reason. For me, "Walk", "Outside", "DOA", "All My Life" and "I Should Have Known" will always be on Foo's playlists
The Foo Fighters are most likely the best rock band still in their prime. This is off their 3rd album, David Grohl (former drummer from Nirvana) plays guitar and lead vocal as well as writer of most of the music. The Pretender is a great cut. They also have great videos, one of my favorites is Learn to Fly, w/Jack Black.
It’s off the second album. After playing all the instruments on the debut album, he put together a new band. He ended up firing the drummer and he played the drums himself. The Color and the and the Shape is all killer and no filler.
@@abbynormal60 thanks for the correction, I knew when I wrote it, I was only guessing. Color and the Shapes and There is Nothing Left to Lose, both never left my turn table. In my 73-year-old mind I forgot which had Everlong on it.

If you like the studio version, you need to check out the live version from Wembly Stadium 2008. As much as this version of Everlong made me a Foo Fighters fan, that live version is incredible.
Foo Fighters/Dave Grohl rabbit hole!!! The thing is, Dave is a genuine, 100% nice guy. He cares about everyone and will do so much to make strangers happy.
Dave plays all instruments on the debut album. This is off their second album and he does tho plays drums on this record after the drummer quit and he re recorded the drum tracks on the whole album
Yep. You’re right. This one is one of their hits. Check out Hero… IMHO, that’s the best song Dave has ever written. The lead singer is Dave Grohl. He was the drummer for Nirvana. The drummer of the Foo Fighters, Taylor Hawkins, who is Dave Grohl‘s best friend, used to be a drummer for Alanis Morissette. Taylor Hawkins passed away a little over a year ago while they were on tour. It was devastating for the fans, but especially for the band and Dave. Please do some more Foo Fighters. They have an extensive library that I believe you would enjoy.
Dude.. so glad you did this. This song is one of three that I can literally say shaped my musical life. I remember the moment I heard this is 1999. Such a great song from the 2nd album of what can arguably be the best/most commercially successful rock bands in the last 25 years. In case you were interested, in the other two songs; try 1979 from the smashing pumpkins, and I might be wrong from radiohead.
Polo glad to see your reaction to this track. It's one of my favorite FF songs. Check out the songs "Walk", and "Pretender". The drummer was Tayler Hawkins, who passed away a couple of years ago. A great talent lost. Glad to see you like them.
Thanks for liking Nirvana. Your reaction helped me to discover the Foo Fighters rabbit hole! Outstanding ❤ Seriously, 3 horns!!! You bet your sweet bippy. Thanks for what you do. ❤❤
A "foo fighter" was a secret German weapon during WWII that Allied pilots described as being balls of light that wizzed around the sky at very fast speeds making impossible turns and basically defying the laws of physics. These foo fighters basically harassed and scared off the Allied pilots, but never did any real harm to the aircraft or their inhabitants. Please check out "The Pretender" and "Best of You" next.
Everylong is one of my favorite FF songs. They've been together over 25 yrs so they have MANY AMAZING SONGS... Best of You, My Hero, The Pretender, Times Like These, All My Life....and more. There are a lot of things you should listen to from them, The Pretender, Best of You, My Hero will be requested tons of times and with good reason.
For me, "Walk", "Outside", "DOA", "All My Life" and "I Should Have Known" will always be on Foo's playlists
Been a Foo Fighters fan since I saw Dave singing Everlong on MTV in 1997. It has remained my favorite song ever. They are awesome and fun live.
@@alfredlandesman5165 it’s all good. There really are no weak FF records.
This is their best song, and your ability to instantly recognize greatness is what separates you from the herd. Love your channel. Love you. Several more Foo songs.you will like...
Dave Grohl went from Drummer to one of the Best Front Men in Rock History! 2 Time Inductee into the Rock Hall of Fame! He's always in attack mode, but is cool as a Fan!
This is one of my favorite rock songs of all time. It's just got everything. Every instrument is perfect, the vocals are amazing, the song builds perfectly, just amazingly structured, and it sounds FIRE
If you like the studio version, you need to check out the live version from Wembly Stadium 2008. As much as this version of Everlong made me a Foo Fighters fan, that live version is incredible.
You should listen to the acoustic version of this song, it's so beautiful❤
Foo Fighters/Dave Grohl rabbit hole!!!
The thing is, Dave is a genuine, 100% nice guy. He cares about everyone and will do so much to make strangers happy.
This is my favorite Foo Fighters song. ❤
Check out their songs "The Best of you" and "The Pretender" same vibe...
Best of You. Pretender. My Hero and easily a dozen others...
Dave plays all instruments on the debut album. This is off their second album and he does tho plays drums on this record after the drummer quit and he re recorded the drum tracks on the whole album
Dave didn’t record the drum tracks after William quit, William quit because Dave re-recorded the drum tracks.
All My Life and My Hero (especially when they perform as tribute with the drummer’s son taking his place…. tears!!!) are my other favorites
Breathe out so I can breath you in, hold you in. One of the most beautiful lyrics of all time.
My Hero and The Pretender are amazing. You should check those out next
Thanks for liking Nirvana. Your reaction helped me to discover the Foo Fighters rabbit hole! Outstanding ❤
Seriously, 3 horns!!! You bet your sweet bippy.
Thanks for what you do. ❤❤
You are gonna love this!
They introduced Rush into the Rock n Roll Hall. Dressed up like Rush circa mid ‘70’s! It’s worth a watch!
Have seen them in concert 5 times, including the tour when Dave Grohl sat on his specially made "throne" due to his broken leg. Love the Foo Fighters.
Sadly, their drummer Taylor Hawkins passed away 2 yrs ago 😢
RIP Taylor 🦅
Im jealous. Been a foo fan since the beginning. Oh to hear it all for the first time again. Check out the covers album 'medium rare'. Off the beaten path, but super great.
So many more to listen to. "Best of You", and "Stacked Actors" (!) will get you hooked.
Can’t go wrong with FF on your playlist.
Foo Fighters
Fleet Foxes
Franz Ferdinand
“There Goes My Hero” is another absolute banger of a song by Foo Fighters.
Pretender! I love anything they’ve done.
Feels like summertime…thank you for that
Foo Fighters! At last we've arrived! Start at the beginning and take the ride we all took together, banger after banger. Soundtrack of my life. Thanks POLO!
My Hero, live, with Taylor's son on drums. I bawl every time.
Everlong, Learn To Fly, The Pretender, Best of You, All My Life, Times Like These and Aurora are all great.
Absolutely brilliant!!! I love the Foo's, see any live concert on TH-cam. Consistently incredible. I've seen them twice and will go again and again.
Thank you Polo xxx
My hero. Especially the video where the late drummers son is playing
Watch the tribute concert when the guitarist’s son plays the drums for Hero. Amazing and shows just how amazing Dave is as a human. I cry still every time I see it
Dave Grohl the Main Foo, lead singer, frontman extroardinaire , played drums on this track.
