    Nice video. What are the rough dimensions and what did you make it from? I’m thinking of making something similar for my grandsons who are moving to Kansas.

    Hey great project!!! Thanks for the video.
    What tool is the one you've used to make the holes with a slight angle to avoid making a tenon?

      The sled doesn’t have electric tools...
      Even Amish buggy’s are made with welders...

    Great video, ends with snow, but not test? Makes me wonder if the sledge is too shallow to run smoothly over the snow and just ends up as a snow plough and a nice ornament.

      @@asherwestcott9937 Well living in a particularly hilly area of England, a few weeks ago with a good dumping of snow I made a sledge (taller) but similar, added metal skids and it worked a treat!

    Try not putting your hand in front of the jigsaw, if the blade breaks you’ll get hurt. Experience from another sled maker !

    Amish have power tools? I don't think so.

    • @asherwestcott9937
      @asherwestcott9937  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They don’t have electric power tools, but they use products that are made by electric power tools. Otherwise, there wood shops and machine shops are powered by one diesel motor that drives various shafts throughout the shop to power the different tools

      @@asherwestcott9937 I don't know if it was intentional on your part but I saw how you respected the 'no photos' request capturing the buggy but no people. My Old Order Amish friend up in North Country New York has a shop with table saw, band saw, planer, several sanders all driven by those belts off of one diesel. I have two rocking chairs, a pantry, drying racks and an oil lamp holder made by him and his sons. Spending time with them in that shop, at times by oil lamp and heated by wood stove in winter are some of my most joyous memories. Some of your commenters show a superficial knowledge of an Amish stereotype but are unaware of the variety of Amish community and rules across America. The old folks I know moved from Ohio. Thanks for the video.
