I’m so surprised it’s a relatively uncommon color combo - it’s the best!! Such weird dolls… I assume these won’t be favored by most collectors but WOW are these cool
To prevent a BJD hook from escaping inside a limb, I insert a chopstick (or a bamboo stick) in the elastic loop, between the limb and the hook. I learned with resin BJDs, since I had to make sure the metal hook never touched the resin parts, otherwise it could leave scratch marks. I also think it helps when changing hands or feet because you don't need to pull the elastic and fight with the slippery hook while aligning the parts: the stick holds your elastic in place, so you have both of your hands free.
I use a similar method, but instead of a chopstick I use a safety pin. That way, I am able to close it and free up my hands to grab whatever piece I need.
I have the white one and the piece, that you put around her head is a ruffle collar. It goes around her neck and you have to pull it tight. At first it looks too big for the neck but once it's pulled tight it fits and it looks really cute.. I got mine from Aliexpress and she came without the stickers but with the extra see-through screen. Thank you for the review, I want to buy another one and you helped me decide which one to get. I'll get the one with the black overalls
The white and gold one is soooo pretty! But yeah i feel like some of these designs would have really benefited a lot from a more diverse range of skin tones, i think if the ones that have a vert light color palette in their outfit had a darker skin tone the designs would have really popped a lot more
I've been collecting BJDs for like 7 years now and I still have trouble getting hands on and off sometimes 😂 unfortunately it really just depends on the doll I think! My solution is usually just to loop some ribbon or string through the elastic, then if it shoots back into the arm you can just pull the ribbon and you have the elastic again.
It’s so stressful 😭 I appreciate the feature but it’s usually such a headache! String is a good idea… I usually have something I just prop the hook on like a the tine(?) of a metal comb
im absolutely obsessed with these dolls right now! i got the black and red one and the cherry blossom one the other day and i plan on getting more when i can ❤️ i hope so bad that they do another series of these with other fun tv designs like i want one with that classic color bars tv screen or a glitchy looking one. and if they could offer actual heads as an option that aesthetically fit the style it would be amazing to have the tv head part off and pose the doll with it for pictures ☺️
I got the black and red one, and I adore them! I will say that despite the fact they're 1/6 scale, they don't always fit 1/6 fashion doll clothing, but they do fit some! Looser or "oversized" clothing might fit and some very stretchy items too. I have mine in a oversized barbie sweater since their t-shirt looked chilly to me. Their bodies are more "childlike" and chunky than most fashion dolls, so putting their clothing on a Rainbow High or Barbie would end up looking very oversized, which could work for some pieces but not all. I LOVE TV head designs but I was iffy about getting them until I found out they come with hands other than the huge paws (I'm not a big fan of permanent gloves), and I have mine fit with the "grabby" hands you described with the arms scrunched up like that "cat pose" in anime and it's super cute. I've had mine standing on my desk without a stand for a couple days now and I'm surprised it still hasn't fallen. They're really worth it for such a well-made full set BJD doll, as long as you like "object head" designs.
I dont know if anyone else has mentioned, but if you have a head that can fit the s hook and the tv, you can put one in there! Thats why they have the S hook in their head, which is really neat
Hi, from looking at the pictures on KikaGoods website and the TH-cam video about these dolls, the yellow and brown doll's brown apron part is supposed to be at the back under her big bow. Like a back skirt over her tail. It looks cool, but yeah, can be confusing dressing these dolls. Lol. I love all of these dolls. I am waiting for the 2 pack I ordered a week ago. I'm exited to find out which ones I got. 😊
I've been obsessed with these since I saw them pop up on Kika Goods. Now that I know they're worth it, I'll have to save my pennies for one! (and hope they don't sell out in the meantime ;w;)
When switching the hands/feet I always pull the hooks all the way out and turn it to be stuck horizontally on the doll so you don't have to worry about little scratches by hooking it on the doll
@@xCanadensis very cool! I missed out on the 1/6 tea series but i like the clothes on these more. ill ask around and see if this is possible or takes some Modification
They should be able to just take any bjd head since the neck is standard and one of the things about bjd is they're strung so you can just put whatever parts together
I think the clear screen is for if you want to add another head inside of the tv head, but for custom screen looks amazing as well, and yeah the tail supposedly use as a stand.
I have this full set too! It took a while for me to figure out but: on the yellow/blue doll the brown piece is supposed to face the BACK of the doll, under the bow attached to the apron. The "garter" is supposed to be a choker necklace. For the pink doll she's supposed to come with a garter and a choker necklace :( not sure if yours is missing or you just didn't put it on. The white/gold doll, the piece is a ruffle you tighten and tie around the neck. I absolutely love these dolls!
One reason that BJDs don't come strung very tight can be that the plastic can warp or break, do to the tension on the string, doing transport. This happened to a lot of BJDs from Asia doing the summer a few years ago because of the heat at that point. Some companies and artist opted to send dolls strung loser to avoid this kind of damage to the dolls.
@@xCanadensis I am not saying this is the exact reason for these dolls being strung a little lose, but it could be safer to string the dolls a little loser than to tight and risk them breaking :)
I recently got mine and love my doll! Only thing I gotta say it is a bit difficult for me to put the tail in and keep it in. Even the magnet in the tail came out but it seems to fit back into place at least. Also was wondering how you take the screen off I only bought one and mine didn't come with any extra screens. I was thinking you could put an actual small screen in there to make it work too that would be cool!
Cute dolls ❤ Great video and review, thanks ❤ I would never buy one of these blind, because I don't really like them all as much. My favourite is the pink one ❤ What I'd like to create is a tiny miniature scene inside the tv, wouldn't that be cute?
I love the body shapes and the clothing, I can tell they are very good quality. Those are nice to see, I enjoyed the video. TBH if I got them like you for free I'd use them for body donors :D The fact they have no face makes them something I'd modify. I would not the spend the money for them tho. However I looove just seeing and knowing about all sorts of dolls and I am happy you made this video. How else I would find out about TV headed dolls? :D Also they are probably for someone who will see them in your video and buy them.
I have the black one and its my favorite doll. I change her screen depending on my mood. I just made them myself lol but HOLY CRAP are the hands tricky to change!!
Oh wow I saw these they are a pretty penny for sure but really unique and cute ❤. I get why they are spendy the artist is crazy talented. I just got a couple shibajuku girls dolls super adorable and they are at walmart now and they remind me of the more expensive pulip style dolls if anyone likes those. 😅
I think the Shibajuku dolls were supposed to mimic Pullip! I remember that being the general thought when they first came out back in like 2016! They’re adorable
These dolls remind me of the Skibidi Toilet series Speakerman and TVman.....and i need them! I've looked at the listing for this exact doll multiple times and am now more convinced to get one. They're big! Would you recommend it for a first-time BJD?
Hmmm… sorta… they are a bit challenging to dress, especially in the shoe area. Make sure you have some type of hook for catching the string if it gets stuck in the leg (it happened to me twice and my husband used a paper clip to fix it). I think these larger ones would be good for getting more familiar and comfortable with posing and how the strings operate! I think the price of one is pretty fair considering everything you get and any sales + the low/free cost of import but that perception definitely would vary person-to-person.
They show that too! I just hadn’t looked at the website since I wanted to be completely surprised aha, my bad! I think I showed it on an image in the video at some point
Good concept, but unnecessary, if you can't insert faces on the big box tv. No need. No antenna. Light will be nice. You can add hair ponytail with magnets...
That wasn’t a head dress, you literally pointed right at it, it’s the neck piece. If it went on the head it would’ve been on the head in the photo. Or you could’ve simply looked it up, I hope you did later
Why is this comment so hostile? 🙃 it seemed too large for their tiny necks so I was confused as I stated. I looked it up and wasn’t 100% sure and often these dolls come with extra pieces, I assumed this was something like that. I figured it out after the video. It’s just not that serious 😅
WAIIIITT the pink and green one! i love that color combo on a doll! but these dolls are so unique, i love the details
I’m so surprised it’s a relatively uncommon color combo - it’s the best!!

i loved putting my forehead against the crt to feel the static LOL
R u okay ?
HAHAHA I didn't do it with my forehead but I liked to hover my hand over it
You've unlocked a childhood memory of playing Duck Hunt and rubbing my hands on the tv to feel the zappy buzz.
Every child loved petting the old TV screen to feel its fur as if it were an animal
@@storybooksculpts-dg1cn well, no! but not cuz of that LOL

I love cat dolls and dolls with unique concepts. These are like best of both worlds!
You can put another doll head inside the TV and show it through the transparent screen. There was a Novi Stars doll that had a TV head.
The black romper doll is one of my favorite dolls in my collection. I'm so glad these weirdos exist! I only wish there were more TV headed dolls.
Lost the string already 😔 time to find a paper clip
Ok this is my sign to get one now!
They're really impressive - I really need to get one of the human heads you can put inside the TV's!! So fun!!

These dolls have a hidden thigh joint too! Pull the thigh out and you can prop it up for a knees to the chest look

In the bjd world they'd be considered "YoSd" sized. Using that term when looking for clothes gets you clothes that fit better.

I’m not sure which heads they are but some of the stock photos show heads in the TV behind the clear screens!

I’d seen pictures of these but didn’t realize they were this large! I thought they were little figurine size.
