I'm in tears. Not only did I make a scrunchie but this taught me what I was doing wrong with crocheting in general. You've brought the joy back for me, thank you so much.
Just for my own notes! Row 1: - Slip knot onto elastic (grab yarn from under the elastic, twist once then chain 1) - 38 sc around elastic (more for thinner yarn, less for thicker yarn) - yarn over the tail Row 2: - increase into every sc - slip stitch into the first stitch and fasten off - weave in the tail
I actually dont own a tapestry needle so I normally do a bunch of funky looking knots and cut the tail off but Im going to hobby craft tomorrow and will look for one !
Sweet, where did you find yarn that has little rose flowers on it, I've never seen anything like it. I looked but didn't see it on your site. Great video, thank you!
Hi saw your video for Calgary markets for may your purple and pink crab you have had for two years maybe add a funky sun hat and sunglasses and I bet it will sell I live in Hamilton ont when you first showed it I didn’t know what it was till you said just an idea hope you keep up the videos love watching them thanks
I suspect that you didn't pull the cut tail of the yarn through the loop remaining at the ending slip stitch. Putting the end through the last loop keeps it from unravelling.
Thank you for this tutorial. Ive been wanting to make some scrutchies to give away, but wanted quick and easy. 3 minutes is great!!! I can see myself now making a ton of these while Im relaxing and watching TV. Thanks a million ❤
I can't figure out what type of yarn to use, tried Royal velvet velours in Loops and threads, but it is way to big. Could someone suggest what type to use. Thanks
It looked like two rounds. The first round was the 34 to 40 single crochet stitches (depending on yarn thickness and size of hair tie). The second round was two single crochet stitches in each stitch of the first round (68 to 80 stitches). I just finished my first one. I used worsted weight acrylic yarn and it turned out great. 😀
@@yarnybox Thanks. I'm just starting out with trying to do a little side job and looking for quick and easy things to dip my toes...lol I'm a single Mama and just looking for a side job to make a few extra bucks.
I personally found this extremely hard and ivebeen trying for 5 minutes(still on round 1) I scrunched it up and my working string was wrapped around so I had to pull it out and as I did that the entire thing unravelled the stitches got stuck so could keep going and I couldn't check my stitches because it was scrunched up
Thank you for this tutorial! A ton easier than how I was making them- what a time saver! Thanks! Can’t wait to make a BUNCH!😊 Here is some good news for you by the way! For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 KJV “and brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? Thank you! I was having a hard time figuring out the slip stitch onto a hair tie and this was very helpful :)
I’m so thankful you did a tutorial. I see myself making a ton of these for myself and friends! Plus it seems like a great way to use up scrap yarn.
Yay!! I LOVE the chenille yarn for scrunchies because it’s super sticky and actually keeps my hair in place!
I can’t seem to find thick yarn so this with take forever
@@Yorunami-starWalmart has it.
@@Yorunami-star I don't know if this would work but, you could try to double or triple up some thin yarn and make it thicker.
Not only did the scrunchie but you helped me with this bc I tried lots of videos and none of them helped until I saw this one so thank you so much
Very enjoyable video and easy to follow. I'm definitely now I have to find my hands to use. These will make really good gifts . 🦋🦋🦋
Before watching this video I had been making some of these but I was going over for the single crochet. Very cute! I love them!

That’s a great idea!
I absolutely love this. I will be doing some. Thanks.
does this work also for thin yarn that needs a 3.0mm hook?
So easy to make. Took me like 5 minutes also did 1 extra row of single crochet
Wow
Thank you so much for the tutorial... I actually wanted to start making my own products
is there supposed to be some of the tail sticking out
I have to use the seamless hair ties, I always break the other kinds.
Perfect tutorial for beginners ❤
How much would you charge for these at a craft fair?
I’d say between 3-5$! Depending on yarn & time!
It took me a while to make, but I enjoyed it. Thank you for the tutorial.
Very nice and rescuing one, thanks ❤
i made this as a last minute christmas present for my bff,and she loved it! thank you for the tut

Can you please say clearly what wool your using. Also actual name that will be on the packet. Thanks.
Wow so cute
Mine didn't turn out like yours. Is that yarn 8 ply or 12ply.
What kind of yarn are you using?
How much do you sell your scrunched for?
Thankyou going too make some 😊😊❤❤
Beautiful! When I weave in the end string, I pull and see it unraveling. What am I doing wrong? Is there another way?
I suspect that you didn't pull the cut tail of the yarn through the loop remaining at the ending slip stitch. Putting the end through the last loop keeps it from unravelling.
Thank you. I will do that.
Do u have this pattern written sonewhere other that the video?
She did a slip stitch onto the hair tie. Row 1 was 38 single crochet. Row 2 was 2 single crochet in each stitch (76). Weave in end 😁
I am a beginner but I only have feather yarn
Can I still do it?
Thankyou, just learning how to crochet. from Tasmania Australia
I've been making scrunched for years

Me too
I can't figure out what type of yarn to use, tried Royal velvet velours in Loops and threads, but it is way to big. Could someone suggest what type to use. Thanks
I finally figured it out.
What type of yarn does she use???
I don’t count on first row just crochet till you can’t see elastic stretching as you go

How much do you charge for one?
I usually do 1 for $5 or 2 for $8, keep in mind I live in Canada 😊

How are you doing this😢😭😢😥😤😰😨
How much do you sell these for ?
I sell them for $3 or 2 for $5. I find the ponytails at a dollar store and just use left over yarn.
Why is mine not curling
