Looks awesome, man! I love that you were able to add some form in with such a functional piece.

Thanks buddy I appreciate it. It took me years to understand why one would need something like this but I'm glad I have it now

    Good
I want to know the thickness of the front iaw and rear jaw?

I don’t know the exact thickness but this was 8/4 wood when I got it. So it probably came out to be 1 ½ - 1 ⅝” thick. I’m not at my shop now but it’s pretty thick. Try to stay around 1 ½ if possible

Looking good! Going to add cork to one side on inside?

Thanks Andy! I was thinking of adding leather later. But, it's pretty stable in there and doesn't dent my piece in there. So, we'll see. Watch, now that you mentioned it, I'm going to mess up on a dovetail cause of slippage! haha

@@ToguchiFurniture oh don’t say that! I need to come see you and teach me how to cut dovetails. They still intimidate me

Yeah for sure, I still need to work on the other half. I had to take a break cause I needed to get other stuff done. But, once I do I'll let you know! And they still intimidate me too haha

Hey Josh what's up! Where did you get that from? And what about the black cedar? Black pine?

@@ToguchiFurniture bro I have the main source . Just brought it home. Rift sawn old growth Sitka. I will send you some pics. Just grabbed two larger kiln units this year. Plan to have 1 or both up running next year once I build the structures for them here and maybe 1 in seward.
