The worst part is that the scientist purposely let 096 escape to prove a point to the foundation.
This one part i like about scps like 096 where they are nearly unstoppable the idea of something petty setting it free is the most terrifying thing to me is it won't be the scps that get out through power it will be the people within the facility falling to there own whims may it be pride , greed , or in general fear they get out via the very people meant to stop it

@@unrealtoxic9086 some are indestructible or could be used for science i understand the notion of destroy them but also we cannot just destroy what we don't understand especially if it helps us in the long run i say those that are intelligent enough to have a conversation like 049 see if you can get a counsel of those scps so we can try and have some help will it cause death in the long run yes but also if we can treat them better they might in turn help us instead of throwing them in prison and calling them monsters
the actual story goes in a way that the doctor planted to picture with 096s face in one of his friends house and made sure that the person noticed his face then vanished from the scene which ended with a foundation plane destroyed and several people dead including some agents who killed themselves after finding the babies pacifier
People always forget that SCP stands for Secure, Contain Protect but the protect part is not just protecting humans but also protecting SCPs.
If 096 is an insane X-man wolverine, the scientist is basically Stryker.
You can actually see 096's face, as they got a painting of it made, as it's not the actual face of 096 it doesn't trigger the urge to kill the target. They got it by putting a man in a sub, looking at a camera of 096. It triggered 096, but as the sub was placed so far away from the target he had time to finish the painting before he was killed.
um no, they gave him pictures of each parts of 096 from limbs, to torso, then to the head and the artist has to paint one by one until he paints the head as a last one
Yeah man, the brown paper bag and some transport is really all you need. So long as no one ever see's its face, 096 is entirely docile.
Furthermore, this short truncates the actual article a bit. There's a whole bit about how the Foundation mobilized multiple squads in populated areas along 096's path in order to pacify the civilian population preemptively.
Everyone was drawn out into the open, held at gunpoint and ordered to keep their fucking eyes closed.
Some people didn't and were shot and killed immediately, so not only were the Foundation operators fucked by the scramble goggles in that scenario, waaaay more people died because they looked out of fear. Everyone who survived was given amnestics.
One of the MTF agents only survived because he suffered a gun jam or something just before 096 ripped apart the rest of his squad. They threw everything they had at it, and even though it sustained enough damage to slow it down and blow off half of its ribcage, it got back up and just kept going, healed within seconds.
That's right, this fucking thing has a healing factor.
Yep, in the article's incident report, 096 didn't *cross* a freeway, he ran *down* one, obliterating everyone in the oncoming lane that saw its face. He ran through a few towns before getting to the city where the original guy who saw the "4 pixels" lived.
It was traveling so fast at times that the MTF had a hard time keeping ahead of it to secure the towns and such between it and its target.
Edit: and the reason the Foundation was so heavy handed with the civilians is simple: if someone with a cell phone takes a picture and posts it on the Internet, anyone that sees it is dead. And considering that 096 has to run to each, that's a lot of populated areas, more people to see it, take pictures, etc. Essentially an end of the world scenario.
That's my only problem with 096 like why is it that strong. the main point of scp is not to kill so they can study and because they could transform into something worse. making it be practically immortal makes it like a "no my monster is like super strong so he would beat your monster"
@@dolphin5177 First, your sentence was really hard to read.
Second, the whole SCP community basically started as that. People were making up a bunch of monsters without much care for overpowered creatures. It was just a thing, there was no structure. 096 was made in that time, and it was just cool and spooky imagining an unstoppable creature hunting you down to kill you. It was when the wiki was started that there was more structure and people were trying to make more interesting or intriguing creatures that are not just "spooky thing kill you".
And because of how popular 096 had become, people started thinking more about it and realized "Holy shit this thing is basically world ending".
Plus if you really wanna complain about it, file in your complaints for the other extremely overpowered SCPs as well. Indestructible Lizard, Gate Guardian Angel, there's literally a category for creatures that they can't do anything about because it's so strong so, 096 is not really all that special. It's just more popular than others.
Not only is it docile but it's pretty compliant when being lead around.

@@BeefMeisterSupreme It’s brought up (or, at least, claimed) that it had already been seen by several dozen people in the time since the photo had been taken, but the guy who had it who was being targeted _inciting_ this event ‘noticed something’. It requires something more than a passing glance. The two who caused it were also familiar with the image itself, else they couldn’t have purposefully caused this incident.

Someone made a joke where they tried to neutralise it by shooting it into the sun. After they confirmed it is... in the sun. They tested by looking at a photo of 096, and looked up to see the sun rapidly approaching.
btw this is simply a recreaton of the old 096 document written for it . there where also 2 final fate joke scenarios . A they shoot him into the sun and it is counted as neutralised and B they test it with a foto again and the sun starts closing on to earth. this is also why its odd how the entire mtf just all look at it even if something has a odd chance of going wrong , always , specificly in this world .

12:16 its called "Shy guy" because it doesn't want you to see it's face, but the mistake of seeing the face (in person, through photo/video, or a realistic enough painting) is an unforgivable sin in it's eyes that makes it enter a rage state in which, the further away a target is, the faster it runs
The true scary thing about 096 is there can be ANY number of photos out there where 096 could be a spec in the background, just waiting for someone to notice. And if anyone takes a picture of it and puts it on the web, or the news catch a glimpse, ANYONE who sees it will die with no way to stop it.
He is blind yet knows exactly where you are if you see it, he has indestructible bones, shrugs off all its meat being melted off, has no clear limit to how strong it is, gains more speed depending on how far the target is.
This is LITERLY a force of nature with a hair trigger.
By the way, the reason Scramble goggles didn't work is actually quite terrifying and in-line with how the photograph caused the incident; For a fraction of a second, undetectable to any human, 096's face appears normally on the goggles right before the scramble effect blocks it out. So on top of the pre-existing horror of 096 killing anyone that sees it, it's detailed further that you don't even need to KNOW you saw it. The task force men and the original farmer that saw the 4 pixels on the photo never truly perceived 096, but it was enough anyway to cause all this chaos.
If that was the reason why the Sceamble gear didn’t work, then theoretically, they could still work if you closed your eyes, turned your head at 096, then opened your eyes again once the Scramble gear wiped its face.

Speaking of children, there's an anomalous piñata that needs to be kept away from preschools. First the incurable paralysis upon visual contact, the child gets opened up like a piñata from the piñata's bludgeoning, and lastly, the dead child becomes another instance of said piñata.
the idea was . what if an unstoppable force can find you at any time or place so long you just know its face . and what if somebody puts it on the internet ? a bit like the ring .

SCP-096 is fucking terrifying, there is no known material that is able to stop him, and no known amount of PSI that can be used to contain him, they obtained artistic renditions of his face only by sticking some dude in a pod at the bottom of the Mariana trench and having him draw it while the thing swam, all the way to the bottom, and killed him after he finished
I think one of my favourite thing about SCP is that in most universes and setting, the SCP corporation would just be the usual everyday bad guy who wants to use these on people for (insert evil reason here).
However, in the actual SCP universe, they are just your normal everyday people trying to do their best to secure, contain and protect both the people of this world, the universe and even hundreds dimension themselves.
Casualties and death are but a daily but all that’s requires is they do their jobs to keep the world safe, no matter the sacrifice, even if said sacrifice is their own.

096(usually) *cannot be stopped* while anyone who has seen his face is alive, 106 & 687 are rare exceptions to this.
Cant remember if this is canon or not, but there was a crosstest with SCP 106 "The Old Man" and shy guy was LITERALLY TORTURED by the old man so much in his pocket dimension, he gave up trying to chase him and came out of the dimension a complete sobbing mess. So technically its possible if you're an immortal/supernaturally strong, you could just beat shy guy up until he gives up on chasing you after seeing his face.

You know what would be the easiest way to contain it, weld a damn helmet on it. Just full on metal helmet with microscopic sized breathe holes for air and then yeet him to space. He can run, climb and break through shit but certainly cant fly.
In some of the later tests to try and destroy 096, he was triggered by a person in space seeing his picture. He jumped into orbit by using airliners as steps. They actually changed his id to safe, because the capsule he smashed into was launched into deep space.
One thing to note, the bodies laying around after being killed it’s extremely out of character for 096. 096 literally consumes its victims after killing, leaving no trace.

for those who don't know: this SCP is a docile one. it's just that the moment someone sees his face be it physically or through a video in anyway shape or form, it will know where you are and basically become frenzied until everyone that has seen it's face is dead. I think it also applies for if someone describes it's face to you or even seeing a drawing of it's face.
edit: the reason it's "cage" is that way is not to be resilient, it's to not be able to see inside no matter what. they once were able to take away his brain, and even that healed with time.

Not to mention, once it gets going, it can't be stopped. They had a guy in a submarine a couple of hundred feet below the surface look at a photo, and that thing still hunted him done and killed him.
