Anyone else think those hidden cabins you find on these kind of boats look so much more cosy and inviting than the main cabin

they do, but I always wonder what would happen if the overweight, inebriated uncle fell asleep on the settee. At best you'd miss breakfast, at worst.... well, it's not an en suite 🤔🤷

You know what I love here - the toilet is dry and the sink is the wet/shower part! That makes so so much more sense than the usual wet toilet to me! Thanks again Nick and happy new year to you and yours....

    • @FunkyTruester
      @FunkyTruester 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Exactly! I can't believe 99% of the time (in semi-wet heads) it seems to be the other way around, very weird to me. I guess the concept of having a "shower bench" is partly why, but still, I'd definitely prefer a dry toilet to a dry sink.

Nice boat. Clever interior with two private "cabins". It's not trying to be more than it is - nothing added on or put in just to claim a feature in the brochure. I like the finish as well. Great for commuting plus ready for weekend fun. All in all a proper boat at a reasonable price. Thanks Nick and thanks Nord Star.

A Finnish boat, so very practical, but with a more contemporary look indeed. Much better the the well known "all wood" interiors which always reminds me of a Finnish sauna...the more contemporary design is a nice balance between the more traditional style and the very slick style of modern cruisers.
    I like it, a lot.

Finally someone had the same thought as myself. Most of these wet heads have the shower over the toilet. Was wandering where people would put their change of clothes, in the sink or just walk naked to and from?
Finally a solution, they put the shower over the sink. So you can put your change of clothes on top of the toilet.
Give the person with this idea a raise.
    Nice boat. Very practical.
    Thanks Nick.

This is a lovely boat. I like the Finnish philosophy with boat building.
If I had one complaint, and it is a minor one, would be with the materials in the fore cabin; a few sound treatment panels should fix the resonances though.
Thank you for the tour. Lovely as always.
(A tip for your Fridays: don't play the drinking game where you drink every time Nick says "finish" or "Finnish" with this video!)

Maybe a sonar waring system would be good for a boat of this size and larger?
As in a sonar system, constantly scanning the water, for anything under the water that the boater might crash into?
Those reflectors on the rocks also sounds like a great idea. But having both, just incase, doesn't sound like a bad thing.
    Maybe it has one already?
Also the usual sea digital sea maps of underwater debris, combined with two sonar.
One sonar focused to look ahead of the boat, and arching to each side, to see focus as far forward as possible, with the minimum lag time between sensing out the sonar beam and it returning as possible. To give you as much time as possible to warn you if something is coming up fast, and if turning to either side is clear.
Also, the second sonar, would be a 360⁰ sonar, for both identifying what dangers are in each direction, you change decide to turn. A warning screen could flash red, with an alarm that varies on how ignore-able it is based on how imminent the threat is.
Maybe with an auto pilot to automatically avoid dangers noticed on route by any one of these three safety systems.
I'm guessing this has already been thought of somewhere.

There are a lot of features on this little, little ship. The second cabin is great and very spacious. I was expecting a hole with a mattress in there since you need to push up a seat cushion to access it but it's a real cabin. I think I saw generator gauges and switches on the electrical panel so maybe that open floor space in the engine compartment is where that might go. Just a guess. Very nice boat with some very tourquey engines! Happy New Year!!!

Every touch a finger mark... eek! That would drive me absolutely nuts, but as I don't have a spare £380K at the moment, I'll calm the you know what down... 🤣 Great tour, as usual. If i won the lottery, I'd replace the second cabin with an office layout, so i'd have a spot for a little PC and perhaps a sofa, to tuck myself away with a good book™ and see if i could maybe replace/reduce the extra fuel tank to fit a watermaker and i'd basically never have to leave.. which sounds grand..

      @darthkek1953 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Based on commercial all-weather ships, the brow helps against heavy wet weather as you say... but also for keeping sun glare out. It's why we're seeing the style more and more on glitzy Italian yachts, etc., but the advantage of the sports cruiser style is aerodynamics, and of course aesthetics if you like spaceship looking ships vs tugboat looking ships. (I like both).

I'm guessing you might be able to remove the double bed in the aft cabin and replace it with a desk, turning it into a nice study for a student, or an ocean/marine scientist, or anyone that doesn't get sea sick, and is OK with it being moved around a lot.
Maybe you could remove the single bed and use it as bicycle storage, or mountaineering equipment, and use this boat as a base for tourists, on a Scandinavian civilian boot camp or adventure holiday?
Maybe store some diving gear?...but yoh would presumably need to balance out the weight of the diving gear in that aft cabin, so maybe remove both beds and just use the boat as a base for divers?
I'm no expert. I'm just thinking off the top of my head.

Targa is the most capable for sure but that means that it isn't the best in terms of interior space. Nordstar is the one that is most designed with interior in mind. It does also often have cheaper feeling materials.

Great layout and boat. I would definitely prefer a more traditional boat interior, not a fan of the modern look. That said its a lovely boat which offers more than most boats costing many times its price.

Website says a fuel capacity of 663 liters or 175 gallons, so an extra fuel tank would be really handy.

Modern yes, but surely also very Scandinavian, very minimalistic.

The paint is really important for this boat, you could say it was put together by the Finnish (puts on sunglasses)

This is most definitely a bachelor pad/boat, with the extra tank in case you need ‘be lost’ 😁

Nick, I didn't see a generator. Does the AC work off of an inverter?

Good value for money. Personally; I'd scrap the fly bridge & make the "hidden" cabin a double en-suite.
Great little coastal UK vessel, for fishing or just relaxing. 10/10.
