    I did not see any comments on your LUTs for correcting D-Cineline shots so I thought I would provide a reference for other people who want to know if they are they worth the investment.
    9 Euros is not cheap but I am so glad I made the decision to buy the bundle. I was colour correcting some D-Cinelike footage and was having so many problems trying to get things right in Resolve 18. Using the other LUTs I found online, I was disappointed to find just how difficult it is to get the colour/contrast/temperature etc. right.
    I installed your LUT pack, reset one node at a time and applied your Normal LUT - just brilliant. I found little else was needed after that.
    Highly recommended.

    • @TamaraGabrielUK

      It depends on the light source. If you go into the white balance setting, hit Auto, then hold you Pocket 2 up where you want to film and then immediately hit Manual, it should get you pretty close.

      The Freewell wide angle lens doesn’t affect the quality of the footage, because the lens is high quality. Freewell also sells individual NDs that work without the lenses geni.us/CcUDz it just depends if you want to use a wide angle lens or not.

    Thanks a lot.. the only thing i do not seem to find ist how (or better where) do i change the frame rate in the mimo app??? i cant find the setting...
    another "stupid me not understanding" I am in europe, should i set it to 50 or 60 herz? I do not seem to see a difference although i have a windows PC with a 4k monitor screen at 60hz. (but maybe that has nothing to do with it)
    Luc

    • @TamaraGabrielUK
      @TamaraGabrielUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The frame rates are to do with frequencies so each region is either PAL or NTSC. PAL would be 25fps, 50fps. NTSC would be 30fps, 60fps. I personally shoot in 24fps for a cinema type look and then 60fps slowed down to 24fps on the timeline. In terms of changing it in the Mimo app it's in manual settings.

    • @FreeEnergyNerd
      @FreeEnergyNerd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TamaraGabrielUK Ahhh i found the settings, and discovered that in 4k60p you cannot change (my app is in german so sorry if i do not have the exact wording) the battery saving mode. not important because i think the results are better. Thanks for the explanation, i thought that pal and ntsc are old standards (got to do with lines on old tv sets..) and that today video standards are obsolete. But you are right, here in europe the electricity out of the plug is at 50hz. so i will stick with that.

    • @TamaraGabrielUK
      @TamaraGabrielUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      First set your camera up with your preferred frame rate, and then set the shutter speed to be double, then choose the ND filter. Normally if it's a really bright day you'd need an ND32, maybe even ND64, if it's overcast try an ND4 or ND8. When you put your ND filter on, if shooting in D-Cinelike check that the EV meter reads as close to +1.0 as possible but not over, and definitely not under 0.

    Thanks for this great video, Tamara. Absolute newbie here so I'll be making my first cinematic holiday video with clips from the Pocket 2. It's good to know there's a +/- exposure indicator on the screen itself which should tell me if the ND filter I've got is correct. For night time/indoor I will try and get away with 24fps, 1/50 without ND filters. For most of our holiday in sunny Spain, I will probably need to splash out on an ND64 filter 😱

    Hi Tamara,
    Since you have the most reviews re: the Pocket 2 I thought you might know the answer to this question. I have my pocket 2 set to normal colour mode. This is mainly because I didn’t want to have to colour grade every clip. But the video produced in this mode always seems washed out or pale and I seem to need to add contrast and or brightening to make it look good. Is there something I am missing here or do I have something set wrong do you think? Thanks for any assistance you can provide. Todd

    • @TamaraGabrielUK
      @TamaraGabrielUK  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Herve. Depending on the lighting conditions the normal colour profile can look washed out. There's not too much you can do aside from adding the contrast in post. If you shoot in D-Cinelike you could use the corrective LUTs I created as you don't have to fiddle around with colour correcting the footage yourself, you can just drop the LUT on and it will be done for you. D-Cinelike tends to look much better than normal colour in the majority of situations. With the brightness though, that may just be down to exposure. Are you shooting manual exposure or auto exposure?

      @hervedelnorte7928 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TamaraGabrielUK Thanks very much Tamara. Good information there. I often shoot with a -.5 to -.1 exposure adjustment. Quite often the skies seem washed out. • @TamaraGabrielUK
      @TamaraGabrielUK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're very welcome. With the 4K60 and not being able to use D-Cinelike, I think it has something to do with potential overheating. So there isn't really a way around it unless you shoot in 2.7K60, then you can use D-Cinelike.

    • @anjalirawat6375
      @anjalirawat6375 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TamaraGabrielUK I see. Is there a way I can shoot in 4K60 and edit it afterwards where I can get it to look like D-Cinelike? I'm new to this haha

    • @TamaraGabrielUK
      @TamaraGabrielUK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not really. D-Cinelike is a flat profile that you colour correct to make look 'normal', so when you shoot in Normal colour profile, there isn't anything to colour correct. If you want the footage to look less vibrant when you shoot in 4K60, you could reduce the contrast and vibrance in the editing process, but there's not much more you can do.

    • @Michael-NZ
      @Michael-NZ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitely overheats with 4k/60. I think I’ll use 1080p/30fps next time so can use D Cinelike mode next time or experiment with the Luts here in Prem Pro and see how that goes

    Does any one know who to activate . With Samsung mobile phone it is possible . While trying to activate with Huawei phone, thru the DJI Mimo app, after searching for some time , it says not found.
    I tried to connect thru the phone adapter not thru blue tooth or by wifi ( wireless ).

      That's odd. My Pixel 2 wouldn't connect wirelessly but did work via the adapter. So your phone doesn't connect with the adapter?

    How can I upload the footage, to lets say IG, where the quality isn't compromised? Every time I upload footage to social media, the footage seems to decrease in quality.

      What editing software are you using and what export settings are you using?

      @@TamaraGabrielUK I just saw this notification. Sorry about that. I'm using the DJI memo app. Any suggestions?

      No problem. With the Mimo app I'm not sure how you can ensure the highest quality upon export as I haven't exported videos from it before, I edit everything in Premiere Pro or Premiere Rush. Sorry I can't help. I'll try and look at the Mimo settings for exporting when I get a chance, and see if I can see anything.

    Really good video! Are you using in this video for the Audio the (DJI all purpose handle ?) Because it has an extra front Mikrofon.

      Yep, just the audio from the Pocket 2 built-in mics. Apart from when I'm doing the demo, that audio is from my studio mic.

    my big problem with this camera is the fact that it doesn't have deep field of view blur , like i can't get a focus and a blurry background 😢 , any tips for that ?

    The D-Cinelike LUTs are now available, so if you wanna have a go at shooting in D-Cinelike for better quality footage, check out the LUTs - they'll help you colour correct your footage quickly and easily; just drop a LUT on your D-Cinelike footage on and that's it, you're good to go! geni.us/6KhaZ

    I have never tried the camera on the DJI pocket 2 but I heard that it's not that great.

      It think the quality's great for the little camera it is. You can get some really high-quality shots. You just have to set it up in the best way.

    Hey, didn't you say d-cinelike needs to be exposed +1?

    • @TamaraGabrielUK
      @TamaraGabrielUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      I find now that it’s better to have it at +0.3 or +0.7 depending on the lighting situation.
