I think modifiers were a great addition honestly. At first I was skeptical but after learning how it works, it makes the game feel refreshing when changing them.
Just separate them from being required for the seasonal journey, and don't make it a grueling grindfest in order to get them. The absolute worst part was that annoyingly long grind in order to obtain them.
THIS. Really my only issue with Season 2.0 at all. You get different modifiers to use and you can just turn them off if you want. But the grind is just baffling.
I’ve taken to hosting my own Heroic countdowns because the difference between modifiers and no modifiers is astounding. I’m already looking forward to what the next season’s modifiers would be because I’ve gotten so used to playing with these, the vanilla game without is just bland
When they nerfed the hostile modifiers I never turn them off now its just a free dps boost to me and it makes me excited for what's next. As for what I want for a future modifier set, what if every gun becomes the Regulus? Upon killing an enemy with any gun they explode and that explosion is what can be augmented with the player modifiers. You can change the status effect applied, increase dmg and radius, or make it spread and repeat when it hits an enemy like eclipse protocol.
I never had a problem with the modifiers at all. The journey grind to unlock them is my biggest problem with Season 2.0. I would have naturally progressed through any of the other seasons by now, which I have with every single season. This is the first time I've felt burned out and I'm maybe halfway through.
Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I just couldn't force myself to enjoy using the Modifiers. I'll likely not complete all seven "Journey" missions as a result, which kind of bums me out. But I just found them a detriment to the overall "fun" of the game. So, turned them off, and went back to enjoying the game the way I'm used to. Maybe I just need to give them more of a chance and learn to embrace them...
I actually really liked the modifiers.... once i got more acquainted with them. I think the biggest problem with the modifiers was the enemies started with all of theirs while you had to do a fair amount of grinding to even start to get yours. It was completely unbalanced if you turned modifiers on from the beginning.
Yep 100%. Even though they stated that they're going to reduce Hostile Modifier power from here on out, I do also hope that Hostile ones are unlocked over the first 3-4 weeks of a Season, or something like that.
@MattKaneVA how so? It would work the same as any other content. If you match make into someone else's play session, you're playing according to their progression. It's the same as if a lower level player jumps into your play session they're going to be subject to whatever directives you have on.
I'll be honest at first, I was not into using the modifiers, but after using them in different combinations my feelings have changed. I currently run heroic missions with all modifiers slot full and I'm enjoying the game again. Respect to Everyone putting in work to keep the franchise relevant 🤝 Stay blessed Agent's, 73's 🗽🫡
I was someone who hated the modifier system when it first dropped. Mainly because of the poor way they dropped the enemy mods. Once they nerfed those issues away i forced myself to use them because it was required to complete the journey. I was always focused to much on how "grindy" the journey seemed to the point where i would throw up my hands and say forget it never gonna happen. But if you don't focus so much on the number of kills you need and what specific enemy type it has to be and just play the game you will quickly realize that the grind really isn't that bad. Just play the game and the journey will be cleared sooner than you think. That being said though there are a couple things i think should be implemented. 1. The option to complete the season journey without the need to use mods. Perhaps give different rewards for completing with or without the mods. Obviously the better rewards would go to those who used the mods. 2. Perhaps add a perk like 10% or 20% more XP gained while modifiers are active as an incentive for players to try them. 3. Add additional daily/weekly projects that have to do with the use of mods to earn even more XP and exotic components. 4. Make it so that group kills count towards your season journey totals. The modifier system kind of made me want to play solo most of the time when i was playing through the journey because i did not want group members to take the kills needed to complete a journey task.
I’m not sure why people including devs think modifiers are content. To me they aren’t even fun. I respect the fact that some of you like them I just find it lazy. I want new missions and new experiences not modifiers.
@againstalladsgames I don't know if the Devs are really viewing them as "content." They even said in one of the TU22 streams that "if all you're waiting for is content, come back next Season for the DLC." Their team size is far less than most for a game of this size, and they've been putting the majority of their resources into the DLC since '22/'23. The Modifiers are a way to freshen up the game until then, but they aren't a replacement.
they’re not content, they’re a gameplay mechanic, meant to change up the monotony of just shooting enemies with striker’s, outside of global events. it’s okay to not like them, but it’s important to understand the difference between sandbox changes, and content
Yall just like complaining. Like yea it ain't content because they got most their team working on the dlc. These change up the regular game play and just allow you to have some fun with it. Idk why yall complain so much this game is amazing, if you get bored go play another for a bit
With the correct modifiers I had equipped, I was using my 1 shot sniper build, and I was nearly reaching "two hundred million" damage... I disliked them when they were in favor of the enemies, but after the nerf and buff they are just way to much fun to use now.
i just want them less conditional and situational For me, combat modifiers are gearsets and talens, either weapon or backpack / chestpiece, specializtion perks and etc. i dont want degree in modifiers, read all stuff and instead of shooting, thinking "oh, this enemy have this icon, i better do X, or i will die"
@@bartosz3837 yeah there was three ways you can play, if you played it on extreme and you didn’t do the thing It wanted you to do you died or it made clearing content, much more difficult. You could play it on normal or opt out. The medium one which was more forgiving. And normal still had the global event modifier, but no drawback. This is almost the identical concept.
@bartosz3837 After the nerfs to Hostile Modifiers, it's almost impossible to die to them (at least via direct damage). And the Devs said that based on the feedback, all future Hostile Modifiers will only dampen our power, not directly harm us
the Devs mess up on countdown, reason is they used to have all 8 agents start at the same spot, that was awesome. That was great because one team might be heavy on new/weaker players and that is a current headache, you'll miss out on dog tags and eliminating hunters. now they split up the teams in 2 different start points. no bueno.
Yea it's definitely rough at times, I just did one countdown today where we completed all hunters but by the final part half the group was gone. We still won cuz someone had the most insane build I've ever seen but it was just nuts. You need at least 2 good players for 1 bad one
the grind for the mods was crazy almost sadistic, the first week or so grinding for them I hayed the game but got through it, used them all through the season, having them turned off when you do a global event sucks, if devs want us to use them let us use them during events
I doubt it would be possible the way we are playing now with our main characters, But I always thought it would be awesome where we had a season where we could stack say 4-5 talents like in descent, that would be nice, LOL, running with more than 1 offensive talent or defensive etc or a mix of both, They would have had so much more freedom with seasonal toons but that ship has sailed. Peace ! I love the modifiers !! hella strong damage.
I’d love to see modifiers that can boost specialization weapon utility in some way. It would be great if we actually put our primary weapons aside and just went nuts on specialization weapons for a season. Imagine what that would look like.
Not gonna lie, I’ve actually grown to really like the modifiers, especially since nerfing the npc modifier strength. Using them is like tapping into a deeper level of build diversity. For example, with the impatience modifier, chatterbox smg is easily better than the Oreo. Without it I would never use the chatterbox
I’d love to see status effects come into play, but the thought of getting stunlocked endlessly fills me with dread. I’d love to see ones focusing on coop play. Harder to have broad appeal that way, but I imagine things like drawing aggro with a Hollywood style shield that detonates from other players’ fire, or killing enemies in a certain way procs a healing cloud for allies, etc. powers that rely on teammates, and maybe rotate between agents in a group.
Is the plan to change the modifiers every season? Is there any plans to make favored modifiers a game changer in PVP engagement? I guess these are questions for developers, but thought I’d think out loud in the comment section. Additionally, what if past modifier favorites paired with newer exotic weapons, so that they return with less prominence but never fall out of the zeitgeist? It could be modifier overkill but could be a change that brings greater specialization to exotic weapons and gear. I’m partial to my exotic loadouts.
I don't hate the Modifiers its just I hate how they are forced started to turn off matchmaking in mostly everything I do because they get activated when someone joins my game.
To be honest I am not a massive fan of the Lexington to be honest because there is that small window when reloading there is enough time for an enemy to shoot you, especially on heroic to get you killed and I'm running with the same build with the same gear piece glove (which I started to use and found a massive difference). I am always tinkering around with builds to get the most out of my build and I tend to use the St Elmo’s Engine.
