      Currently listening to the audio book, really enthralling content and well contextualised to your main theme I think. It would e easy to segue into some of your stories butAndrew always ties it back to the concept of the secret. Such a unique angle.

    Thank you Shauna for bringing up the issue of discrimination about Jewish students. This upsets me very much too. I am not Jewish so I have not experienced it, but I am appalled that one group of folk would treat another person badly on the basis of ethnicity or race or religion. It is just so so wrong. For Jewish students to be made to feel unsafe in their own university, and unable to go to lectures, is appalling. Universities should be places where students can feel free of this horrid behaviour.

    • @patshartigan5100
      @patshartigan5100 20 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      Unfortunately, this isn't a new issue and university employees with the most tenuous links to Israel have faced all manner of discrimination for decades. Academia can be a ghastly place.

Years later, Elizabeth II would be a practicioner of the visibility but as private as Victoria. Harry has broken a century old behavior and he already lost. This interview was mind grabbing!

    Wonderful interview. I met my husband mid-life and in the beginning when feelings started to show, we spent a lot of time spilling our own tea. We opened all closet doors and was honest about our deepest thoughts and intimate secrets. Then we took a few days to digest the information. Twenty-five years later, we are still together and it’s been wonderful because no time has been spent worrying about keeping our secrets hidden. It’s so wonderful to be “known” down to your core and loved deeply for “all” of who you are. I had a falling out with a long time childhood friend and she threatened to inform my husband things he “doesn’t know”. I had no fear, he knew it all. The freedom of that experience is indescribable. Also, I am part of the 95%.

    Fascinating interview/chat, Thank you to both of you. My pet peeve with the world at the moment is the generalisations. Not all Jews support the Israeli government, not all Palestinians support Hamas. All governments pretend to reflect the views of their people but very few are in fact voted for by more than half of their resident populations never mind their compatriots who live in other countries. Living in Zimbabwe is a case in point - not all the population supported Mugabe even if they wore the party colours - talk to people and judge them on their views and behaviour. The same is true for people of different generations especially within families.

    Andrew made a point, saying he doesn't know whether paedophiles who had not ( yet) committed any crimes - are monsters or not.
    I listened to a radio programme in France a while back, where a young man was being interviewed who admitted to having paedophilic thoughts and fought hard against them, but said that there was no one there to help him and he was desperate and alone.
    Nobody asks to be wrongly wired like that, it's an illness that needs treating, I felt incredibly sorry for that caller.
    I think they turn into monsters only when they act on their urges.
    I truly enjoyed your chat ( it was much more than an interview) a vivid ping-pong of ideas and banter and upbeat throughout.

  • @judeli9237
    @judeli9237 20 วันที่ผ่านมา +17

    When Andrew talked about the royal family, he always showing disdain and disrespect, on his shows also. A lot of the time TH-camrs jumping on the hype of this topic for the past few years, they don’t have the knowledge and interest in England and the monarchy. They just talk about them for the views because the RF is popular and brings views. And many TH-camrs become popular and successful because of talking about the RF.
    The RF isn’t nothing if no one talks about them. The princes trust helped independent business launches successfully in the past 20 years, they head hundreds of charities raising money much needed by the people. They save guard the commonwealth and England legacy, unlike other countries, England retain most of its lands, building and history without selling to the highest bidders. They serve their country with their lives while we only pay them 1 pound a year. Would I trade place with the royal? No, because it’s a life of sacrifice.
    They are not nothing if we don’t gossip about them. They have done much more than a lot of famous people. If you see them as a dying tribe trying their best to carry on their traditions and history, loving their country and people. May be TH-camrs will be more respectful and thankful for the views that they bring to their channel.
    May be try not talk about them if you think they are nothing and have no impact.

Andrew’s comment about not wanting to lie because people will find out makes me think about H and M and what it is about them that they think everyone is stupid or don’t access social media or the internet to confirm ‘their truths’. Guess that’s when personality disorders come into play🤔

Not sure about H, other than he goes along with it, but he has said of his wife, "she's the captain of my soul". HGT has a TH-cam channel and explains MM's behaviour in terms of narcissism. It's very interesting, but hard to conceive that mindset.

    Cutie!!! I have been loving watching Andrew since I saw him on a podcast that YOU, Shauna, should be on soon.
    What a wonderful combination... The two of you and an incredible subject. Andrew, I truly think that some people are naturally "comfortable" to speak to. Both of you have the kind of empathetic vibe that someone "invites confidences."
    Luckily, this quality is a compliment!!! Frankly, in a world where the actual physical face to face is not as common, there is a fine line where people have to straddle quite carefully! Social skills are so complicated now, as opposed to before the "plandemic."
    Also, a great big thank you BOTH for shining a light on the importance of books. Never enough of hearing about the book's inconceivable influence and sheer power that it can hold over society.

Your secret will come out somewhere, usually inadvertently when the 'holder' of the secret has forgotten you said "Don't tell anyone. It's a secret". I myself, hold many things which I don't think should be spread around, but No-One has my secrets.🤭🤫🙈🙉🙊

Now in stead of hoping my secrets are not exposed, I find myself hoping that when/if they are exposed that I'm not put under interrogation. I dont care if people know, I just dont need to questions about my choices.

    It's the point that when you get attacked laying in your bed at 11:00 at night on October 7th and your wife is raped and your child is beheaded and you're taken as a hostage, you have the right to defend yourself. When entire kibbutz is murdered with not one person left alive, you have the right to defend yourself! And the fact that Qatar is giving the universities all the money in the United States, which is why the universities aren't stopping these protests. So they're paying people to come who don't even go to these universities to protest. It's about those countries trying to take control. Better open your eyes people because it's not just United States that's being taken over, seems like the UK is having their issues as well...

      I was absolutely gob-smacked on October 7. You'd have thought that Israel had been the attackers the way the WHOLE WORLD was against them - very quickly followed by a tsunami of antisemitism.
      I don't tend to go in the direction of conspiracy theories, but it was while I was reading all these comments here that the thought crossed my mind that what happened could have been orchestrated.
      Several years ago some chap said "they" (Hamas?) would not stop their rocket attacks on Israel until they had driven every last Israeli into the Mediterranean.
      And then there was the issue of attacking the big hospital, which sounds terrible. What was going on there, was that the IDF was exploring miles and miles and MILES of tunnels under and around the hospital and clearing them out. Why was this fact hardly mentioned in the press?
      I've said right from the start that many of the hostages taken on October 7 will never see the light of day again. They witnessed the barbaric cruelties perpetrated.
