ZL Equestrian hot hot hot. can’t give the pea brain a day off without his ability to think shutting off the next day. so we usually just have a walk day twice a week and work the other 5. but a lot of my exercise rides are pretty mellow which is nice (sort of). i’ve always preferred a little more energetic😂
ZL Equestrian honestly my horse has so so so so many moods. Some days all you need to do is just adjust your reins for him to go into a trot! Other days you need a crop! He’s super good on his hot days though ❤️ I’ve been so excited to see a tack up video from you! ❤️
Eh my mare is pretty chill she only gets spooky rather than hot and she will try to take you over and play you but that's not really hot
Some days, shes a push-button dreamboat on the flat. Other (most lol) days she is quite the rocket mare! Jumping is always exciting lol. She naturally takes a long spot even on good days but often my brakes disappear🤦🏽♀️
He’s kinda old so definitely mellow but he can be hot if he wants
You are such a soft and quiet rider! D has the relaxed, floppy ears almost the entire time you’re jumping! Great riding! I love D.

I was about to comment the same thing! My horse sticks his head straight up 😭
My horses will let me wash their face with the hose. I don't like to use the hose but they don't mind it.
Sierra Howell pressure and release. Spray there face until they drop there head. When they do take the pressure/water off. They dont have to like it but they need to tolerate it.
Would love to see more videos that have real time audio where you talk through what you are doing, or even a voice over!

Same girl, same. It has rained so much. I simply dont understand how. luckily I have an indoor arena, so yeah!!!!! Ive spent my first 20 years without and indoor arena, so Im happy now that i have one, ive been at the yard two years, but man, you get so used to it and you wont be able to pay me to be a place without an indoor arena. :D

I'm so jealous of the weather over there! I had to spend the weekend end sweeping out my stable, replacing all the shavings and putting sandbags everywhere cause the heavy rain flooded the whole barn ugghh not to mention every time he comes in from the field he's covered in thick chunky mud haha

You can see how grateful she is toward her horses. There isn't one interaction she has with them that they aren't getting the world-class care they deserve. I just got my three kids into riding lessons (at their request) after being horseless for about 15 years. It must be genetic haha. I did dressage with my OT Standardbred that was taught to trot and canter under saddle and got him doing well through second level dressage. My love for horses never left me and I cannot wait to get our first horse soon! Love from West Arizona!!

Dragon’s so gentle ❤️ I have a (non-Appendix) Quarter Horse currently being retrained from being encouraged to rush fences, so a lot of times it gets speedy. He’s very intelligent and not hot, but just trained incorrectly.
This probably sounds weird, but can you please post a video about how you train your horses to keep their head still when you spray their face? My horse is such a sweater and it is so hard get all the sweat off because he sticks his head straight up! Or maybe just an overall video of the groundwork you do with your horses? I can tell you give your horses good groundwork because they seem very respectful & I think that would be good for a lot of people to learn from!
I would think that you could get them used to just the hose being there, and once they're comfortable turn on the water in the less sensitive spots (the cheeks, those areas), and just work your way up to all over the face, and reward them when they don't flick their head. That's how I would do it lol.

do you have different saddles for your horses? I know not all saddles will fit each horse, if so, how many do you have? Love your videos!!
Shannon Revell yes I have multiple CWD’s for different horses but some use the same one depending on fit.
I have the same bit and I’m wondering if you are allowed to use it on the main loop/ring, the bigger middle one. At a show?

My guy is super hot, pure TB! Lol. Never raced. Do you have any suggestions for horses who are forward and seem up tight and don’t relax under saddle?? He’s amazing and the best horse ever especially at the trot, then at the canter he gets rushed

I have two hot and spicy mares! I had to give up jumping this year as I can’t afford it anymore, and sold my big mellow gelding last year. It was heartbreaking.
Can I ask a question for educational purposes?
Why do you choose to use the elevator/3 ring gag/Dutch gag with no curb strap or chain? The mechanics of the bit don’t work the same without one. Is it just personal preference?
Ally Bee Elevators don’t necessarily need a curb and D doesn’t need one. I use an elevator because he gets strong at times and the leverage allows me to have a soft hand without him hanging on the bit. I do jump him in a snaffle as well.

KB Equestrian no help has some scratches (pastern dermatitis) currently. He was a little stocked up from it. I actually clipped just his lower legs this last week and am using a topical ointment that’s helped a ton!
