Litterally has to explain what pawning is since no one ever does it on the show
Andrew K Lmao ikr I legit thoughts pawning was selling until this
From my little knowledge I think it is like taking a loan out and pay interest.
Keelan Rice Pawning is where you take out a loan at a pawn shop using an item which is worth more than the money to be loaned as collateral, if the person doesn’t pay the money back they will sell the collateral to make the money back.
What I don't get with the last clip, why would he pawn it instead of getting a loan at the bank? He has collateral in the worst case scenario but if he can't get the money together in 4 months he loses a truck that's worth 3 times the pawn sum. With a bank loan he doesn't.
JSmellerM He probably doesn’t have enough credit with the bank to get that kind of unsecured/secured loan. Also, apparently financial institutions don’t like it when you pay back the loan really quickly because they don’t make as much that way. The pawn shop pretty much makes there money no matter what because they charge their loan(pawn) fee, or they’ve got your collateral which is worth far more.
I'll give you nothing and i'm taking a risk.
@Andrei r/woosh
Nothing is too low, I’d offer you 3 pesos, 3 pennies, and a pat on the back
You can give me money and I am taking a huge risk.

Plus interest
@@feast__ when has debt not been associated with interest? Seems redundant to say "plus interest" if the word "debt" essentially includes interest.
You must try to to Rick bro😉we everyones knows it. When he said $200, rick will say ok and goodbye.
It's big brain time!
Pat just a little fun fact, interest is actually not allowed in Islam because it’s a way for the rich to become richer and the poor to become poorer. I’m sure most of u probably don’t care but I’d thought I’d let u know
goes from 8 to 15 lmao what
Op Po in the long version he offers 10k and the guys says that the bike is worth 35k and he was only asking 20k so that's why he says I'll meet you at the middle 15k
I'mma thinking he would say 11k lol but whoa there buddy I think your numbers are a lil off.
nah the truth is interest on the 15k is more
So with pedophiles lol

Having read Rick's book, most of the shop's business is actually people pawning items, not outright selling them. The thing is, people who have to pawn an item generally don't want to appear on the TV show.
Yea it's a little sad hearing how put out they are for a simple $500. I can see how that would bring the tone of the show down considerably.
Rick buying a house:
Real Estate Agent: The house is 400k

He murdered his family.
@@anthonya2479 bro 😂
Is it just me or does that massive big rig look like serious fun? I have always wanted to drive one.
The shark teeth is the first Time I’ve seen a deal go through without price changed
Probably because each is worth about 500-1000 and he wanted 1k for all of them
Andrew’s Closet The guy got screwed.
The shark teeth is the most genuine transaction ever from this show
3:27
Wow, first time ever that Rick doesn’t negociate and accepts the inicial offer.
The dude was pawning, not selling.
4 times actors were paid to pretend they were pawning an item.
Facts haha
I read up a bit on the show, and while there were some actors, most of the people were actual ordinary people trying to sell items. But instead of just walking in like they do in the show, they'd talk to the producers about what they had, and then the producers would decide if it's what was gonna be sold. And while certain elements of the show are 100% scripted, most of the conversations between the patrons and the staff were somewhat (they usually met each other and probably had an idea of how the deal was gonna go before they started) "real". If someone knows of a source saying I'm completely wrong I'd actually be interested in reading.
If they never pawned on the show History channel would collapse
@@NathanRW I've heard that sometimes they would buy the item a few years before the show started and since it was interesting they wanted to put it on the show they couldn't convince the owner to recreate the experience for the cameras so they just "sold" it to a actor and then proceeded to buy it back of them
SceneTurkey exactly
*has the Ark of The Covenant*

How is Rick laughing at 2:43 when he clearly ain't moving his mouth lol
Duuuude... Nice find, I'll probably think about this randomly in the future.
Also, I think the other laughs after that we're fake as well.
It's not him it's chum and the seller
Battle Mations chums mouth isn’t moving either
Pawning is just the adult version of giving the teacher your shoe when you borrow a pencil
Customer: I have one of Jesus’ sandals, what can ya do?
Pawn shop: Yeah I can go 5 cents and some pocket lint, and I’m going out on a limb there.
this got me cracking up at a barber shop 😂😂😂😂
That would be so epic to actually have something that belonged to Him.
You see the problem is, this is just one sandal. It's not a complete set. Without knowing where the other sandal is and what it's condition is, it's hard to put a price on it. How much you want for it?
*30 pieces of silver*
2 pieces of silver, that's the best I can do.
I need to call an expert on Jesus. I’ll call God himself.

For those of you who don’t know the definition of pawn:
To pawn something is to use it as collateral when you're borrowing money. When you pawn a necklace at a pawn shop, you get cash in exchange for it with the understanding that you can buy it back later.
Avengers:
Rick: Whatever it takes... I’m taking a risk
I love when rick just get straight to the point
Woah wait... Did Rick actually accept a suggested price without negotiation? 3:30 (roughly)
Since he’s pawning them and not selling them, rick makes more the higher the price because of more interest
The infobox stated that a Megalodon tooth went for 1k and there are a lot more teeth in the box than that. So he will make a profit if the guy doesn't pick the stuff up.
1:50
I bet the coins in that thing are more valuable than the slot machine
Guy I have the Holy Grail itself and it has been certified to be the real thing
Rick: I’ll give you 50 cents for and I’m taking a risk here
3:26
Rick just agreed?
It's pawning. It's basically just borrowing money. Really comes down to how likely you think your customer will actually come back.
Like that guy pawning his truck. Theyre not selling it so it's different.
Tbf theyre more likely to agree when youre pawning cause they're usually pretty sure youll come back and repay with interest. You have to sign contracts and everything. It's much different than just selling an item.
Like the motorcycle? If they wanted to buy it, they would do it at 10-12k max. On pawn tho, he's like k 15k then whatever.
he went from 8 k to 15k that is how you know they are scamers
it was written in the script that way
This is cut down to be a clip on TH-cam, the long version has them discussing the resale value of the bike which is over $30,000. He is looking for a loan not to sell.
Nobody:
Rick: I’ll give you nothing and I’m taking a risk here

Normie
why is it so satisfying when transactions go so smooth 😂
3:44 pretty chill guy
Seeing this today in 2019 with the old man it makes me sad. Miss the old man US Navy
Guy: I was wanting to pawn these shark teeth for $1,000.
Rick: Sure, I'll do that.
Guy: Wait, I wasn't expecting to get this far...
lol i thought the same
Literally felt satisfied when the guy had no problem pawning them teeth
That probably means he undersold them.
3:26 actual most rare moment in this show
The most rare us when rick offered to give a woman more than what she was asking
@@Dawnyy You mean when she had this gems and gold that where real? I think those are the moments that make me "believe" in the experts. They sometimes rule for the client.
@@xXkirkhammetXx I honestly don't remember what video it was but just remember that rick offered 500 more or to be fair, but yeah those experts actually have their own stores and websites so I never doubted they were real experts
@@Dawnyy This gal brought an antiquity, she was asking for like 3k. And the expert said it was worth like 20k and rick gave her like 12-15k I don't remember but I didn't know they had their stores. Cool fact.
@@xXkirkhammetXx yeah, the one I'm talking about was one of a coin, rick already knew the value of it, there was no expert, I just can't seem to find it

2:41 that cut in laugh
Fake laugh
2:34 .. The least stressful clip ive seen of this show lmao. Brought them in, set the price and rick closed it right away. Thats rare.
I mean, he was pawning, so Rick knew he was gonna either A) pay him back and he makes money, or B) he defaults on it, and Rick sells them for at least a small profit.
Iove how you hear Rick laughing at beginning of the shark teeth one and his mouth isn't open 😂 😂

At 2:44 why did they insert the audio of the beginning of Rick’s laugh?? 🤔
Chum's laugh was edited in too. It makes you wonder how often they do that on the show
lol got to love that teeth joke
Instead of going to the shop for your car just bring it to the pawn shop pretend like your gonna sell it, they will do a 100x better job finding anything wrong than telling you what it is 😂😂
Dude your right that will be a free diagnostic lol
All my life ive been looking for this.
Bisayawaa!
The dude pawning the teeth for a grand managed to get an agreement for the original asking price. I didn’t know that was possible.
4:46 I never wanna hear rick refer to himself as big daddy ever again.
why was this so aesthetically pleasing to watch

What is the chance someone would Pawn your livelihood, even so, is that very new truck paid for? If not Lienholder?? The only thing I believe about this is Rick is taking a huge risk w $20k on the line for $125k truck. Big risk here. The CDL was traded to him for $1
