This is the first performance of this piece which I ever heard quite a number of years ago. It is still my favorite performance Of this piece. I am eighty one years of age. My disk is long since 'gone'. it is a blessing to find the piece listed here.Thank you.
I guess you were not around in the late 60s ... when this came out in L:P form; then it went on CD with the EMI label; and it's still around and nothing matches it, though that's just my opinion. Barenboim is perfection.
Truly an intensely, yet delicate exchange between piano and orchestra and THEN THE SEXTET and CHORUS ADDS THE CLIMAX. just so magnificent. I LOVE BEETHOVEN
I can't believe how many great recordings there are of this piece. This one has an incredible studio sound to compliment the patient but passionate performance. Thanks very much for the upload.
The slow crescendo this piece travails, in volume and intensity is incredible. The wall of sound achieved at the end is palpable, vital and all consuming.
There's a 3 CD set of the complete works, 1--5, with the choral fantasia ... still excellent even on CD; on the EMI label (Amazon sells it) ... I wore the LPs out (on the Angel label) long ago. Grateful they produced them onto CD ... Best performance ever, in my opinion--don't know of any other recordings that include the Fantasia at the end of the 5th.
How is the incredible “discordance” achieved starting at approx 3.07 marker. I had same comment on Martha Argerich performance. I have not seen the full score. Particularly skillfully performed by these two Argentinian geniuses. Michael Harvey, Luxembourg
Beethoven was is and will always be the baddest of the baddest that ever walked the face of this God blessed earth. He said it perfectly: ‘I write music that strike fire I the heart of a man and put tears in the eyes of a woman’ Well this one not only strike fire in my heart but makes me feel invincible. If I ever had the opportunity to go to war, I would listen to this first. You better get out of my way ‘cause I am coming at you like an 800 pound gorilla Reggae lovers Beethoven had the down beat figured out 300 years ago He is a bad mon
Otto Klemperer (1885 -- 1973), originally from Germany, immigrated to the USA, with his wife, son and daughter, in 1933. He emigrated from Germany to escape the darkening Nazi rise into power. His son, Werner Klemperer, became a successful actor, with numerous TV appearances.
Great tempo here. So many interpretations are far too fast, like the soloist is late for a meeting. It doesn't gloss over or run roughshod over the emotional content of each note the way some others do. This one broods on the notes in a way that I feel the composer would have approved.

I just learned of Daniel today.
The depth of each note resonates into the next. To the core

Yes, even as a young man Daniel understands this ethereal masterpiece. God bless Daniel
To Zamir Tarmu:his best years were at that period I think

I keep this interpretation in my soul, since I was young (many years ago)...
Bravo!
The best version ever!
Agreeded👍!

What a completely silly, even completely idiotic commentary.
@@wagnerfan5453 your mother loves it
Where else is there to go after listening to this other than Beethoven's Ninth symphony?
On the road between them you make a stop at Fidelio’s Act 2

É assim que executa-se um piano.... com alma

The picture of Klemperer must have been taken some 20 years before Barenboim was born.
Definitely. The picture of Klemperer war taken in or around 1930.
0:00 to 20:57
Klemperer in RFH 1964, old man, minimal gestures but total command of philharmonia……
Sounds good; i'll stick with kissin-abbado
Herr Eichorst brought me here.
much better several years later : Ludwig van Beethoven - Triple Concerto in C major, Op.56 & 37th minute Choral Fantasy in C minor, Op.80 / Barenboim
12:48 disaster 😂😂
One of Daniel’s most successful piano performances. Too slow but still some of his best playing.
)
BIRNBAUM AGAIN
tooooo slow
No. Profound.
