The first time I changed my water filter I soaked the kitchen and myself then I found your video and successfully installed my filter. This filter change I only got myself a bit wet when I didn’t close the water inlet enough. Brilliant video thank you. 🤩
Thank you for this - I don't know why I forget every six months how to do this - excellent reminder. One important point that was missed out though. Remember to push the filter reset on the fridge so that it will change from the "filter needs changing" warning (amber or red) to the "everything is hunky-dory" mode (green) - otherwise no one in the hose will believe that you have changed the filter as the light system is infallible apparently!! Thanks again!!
Two things, you didn't show the actual pushing in of the collets to release the filter pipes, these can be real pigs, and it would be a good idea to press the water dispense lever or button on the fridge to release any residual pressure.
great walkthrough. also your point is really good about let the water flow for some minute before connect the new filter to the fridge. if you don't do that the particles and the coals inside the new filter may go to your fridge solenoid valve and clog it.
Thank you so much. Just changed ours for the first time and they didn't explain in the Samsung video that you need to pull the cap back to release the hose. I had given up, watched your video, went back and had it all done in 5 mins.
For some reason your video omitted the important step of pushing the collar around the water pipe where it enters the filter IN while at the same time pulling on the water pipe in order to release it.
The next time just connect it up run 3 litres of water through the dispenser your just purging the pipes /filter of air that’s why your still getting splashing at the dispenser after you’ve run the water through the filter . There wouldn’t be any nasty material coming through that filter the way your doing it as it’s a filter that’s it’s job it’s just air your getting rid of .
Very helpful video although I am a bit concerned about number 1 your heavy breathing and number 2 your loud children. Btw we have our filter horizontally mounted. Thanks
Hi Thanks so much for this it’s very helpful. I’ve tried and I can’t get my inlet connected properly it’s leaking out, what am I doing wrong?? Pulse help thnx
Thanks very much for your comment and for watching. Sorry to hear you are having issues with the inlet. Are you using a Samsung filter? Is the tube ok? I just have to push it in with a little force.
Thank you for this video - very helpful! Just wondered what is the grey thing that you have above the replacement filter? It seems to connect a blue pipe to a white pipe which then connects to the new water filter? Please explain?
Not sure, I think it's just a clamp that the guy put in when it was installed. Thanks for your comment and for watching. Please like, share and subscribe for more 👏
@@Martin-pr6ps thank you! We’ve just bought a house with a Samsung fridge built in... can see the water pipe in the cupboard next to it but can’t find a filter at all - It’s like it’s not fitted? All we have visible is the grey thing - or non return valve - we concluded it was just a connector for the 2 pipes that the previous owners used instead of an actual filter perhaps?
We have very tiny drips at each end of csrtridge since changing? Could i have filter wrong way around? Ours is on top of fridge so hard to know which cable is which ?
I have the Samsung model RSH1DTSW, I only just got it second hand. And am very confused as to why some filters are inside the fridge freezer and some are outside I don’t know which one mine is
@jleswright I recently had a fitted, I have a question its suddenly stopped making ice?? Water pressure is fine throughout put house do I need to change the filter ?
I did this, and now my water smells and tastes like chemicals/chlorine. Not sure why. I used a Samsung filter. Could I have done something wrong? Filter is correct way round, and has had 10mins of flushing upon installation. Have tried to reinstall the same ‘new’ filter twice. Still no joy.
Good help. I knew from previous changes that there was a secret in releasing the pipe which I always forget. That secret is depressing the collet. The other secret is not to over pressurise your inlet hose if your tap doesn't restrict you when you reconnect - you only need a small positive pressure. Don't ask me how I know! Thanks

Thank you for this. Wouldn’t have known how to open the pipe without this. ❤

Missed the most important part ffs
I came to this video to see this exact thing as I can’t take off the old filter! 😢
That would've been good to know before I cut the hose lol

Thanks, it helped me a lot when connecting a samsung family hub to the water pipelines

Yes this, video showed me everything extremely comprehensively, except for the only bit I came for
Legend! Thanks

That grey thing is a non return valve also called a Check valve.

Thanks for your comment. My advice is to jiggle the ice making compartment as sometimes the ice cubes get stuck together. Hope this helps 😊

Thanks this helped a lot! I've got the same fridge freezer.
I used a non Samsung filter. On the first use water shot out of the dispenser everywhere!
Thanks for your comment. Yes I would recommend using an official Samsung filter 😊
I’ve used none Samsung for years with no death in family yet
To make purging easier I have a small tap in kitchen I divert water from the back of fridge freezer we only drink filtered water
Thank you
