If you're interested in investment banking recruiting, I highly suggest the courses by Wall Street Prep! The premium financial modeling course in particular will really help you gain a solid understanding of key concepts like comps, DCFs, accretion dilution, LBOs, and more. You can always learn about these topics through the existing guides out there but that course you'll actually be building models and putting theory into practice which will help you better understand technicals and answer those questions during interviews.

What do they prefer? A master in finance and directly associate or undergraduate/bachelor degree and start as analyst?

can try! but usually hard to find data for comp figures as it's way more variable for buy side firms vs. consulting and banking which are much more structured

Would like to ask if there's any chance for Malaysians that don't have degree in top 10-25 universities in US to actually get into the job? (I got my undergraduate in Universiti Malaya, Malaysia's leading uni) Recently I've gotten application update of interview in progress for jpmorgan & goldman, though still waiting now for next stage, hope to hear from u soon!

You can actually dive into crypto trading it’s more profitable and you can work from the comfort of your home to earn 11% -20% of your portfolio.
I was earning X when I was working in big international consulting firm
now I am a mere freelancer,, work 20-30% less compared to my time in the firm... but able to earn 2X
*consulting = glorified underpaid job*
that's great! consulting can be a great stepping stone to provide the skillsets for other opportunities, potentially like your current freelancing role and my youtube channels which earn me more with less hours and my own lifestyle. so all in all, banking was worth it for me

These would by in a city like NYC right?
SF, NY, LA will pay like these. other satellite offices may pay a bit less but will be around the same ballpark if not the same across the US

Sorry but I think you’re way too biased towards the “1A” bulge brackets. Almost anyone serious about finance/IB regards the top EBs (evercore, Pjt, centerview) as more prestigious and better quality than JPM, Morgan Stanley, and even some groups at Goldman
i just separated them as top 3 bulge bracket banks and then top tier boutiques. i know many take boutiques over the top 3 (while few would in consulting where MBB is much more in its own class). thanks for pointing this out though!
