I'm looking at the 130 but you make the 100 sound pretty good I'm older rider want more travel but I really want that up Hill Speed Bike we ride up 5 to 6 miles up to go down over here . I wanted that 130 they say it rides up pretty well does it ? how much difference of up hill ride between the 130 and 100 did u notice ? I'm not gonna hit that Bike park often but when I just went with my old 2008 575 yeti seem very sketchy was fun on the green bit hairy on blue and black tho . looking at a better suspension trail / enduro . lemme know what u think ? thanks

I'm going to say the SB100 has a clear advantage for speed climbing and like I said in the review, you can beef up the front end a bit. But the SB130 is going to give you a significant downhill advantage. To me its going to come down to downhill speed vs. slow speed tech. I like the 100 more for slow speed and climbing.

Yeah dude! Fruita/GJ have the most diverse riding terrain I've been able to find! 18 road has a server name "Flow", all she does is serve up some smooth rides! The rest of the valley is full of bike breaking bandits loll!
I am looking at a 2021 SB 115 T-2 with XO, they only have 1 left in medium in Blanco color. I sold my 2019 RM Instinct BC about 6 months ago and thinking of a lighter bike with less travel thats easier to climb with, i just turned 66 and the new 115 XO has a 30 tooth chain ring and 10-52, hehehe, my friend works in a shop and he sent me some pics this morning, its beautiful and 27 pounds even size M, carbon wheels drop a pound You have some serious skills, VERY impressive!!! i am a Blue trail rider and thats it

I switched from a 180mm front & 170mm rear travel bike to a 135mm travel 29er and I have never looked back. I can descend everything and hit all the same shit as I did on that long travel sled, but I actually have some energy left after the climb to send...well relative to my skill that is...
I need to try riding the trainer while watching somebody's video lol Singletracks and Whiskey was telling me that's what he was doing. The long travel bikes have been fun to learn on, but these shorter travel to mid models combine those skill with new, probably more fun. Thanks Travis!

Sounds like an amazing bike for where I live. Southern Illinois and Indiana. Sure wish I would have bought the SB 100. Instead I bought a bike with way too much travel.
Great reviews and great riding! I wonder if you could comment on SB100 vs SB130? It appears you rode the same trails, were you faster on one or the other? I have a sb5 w 160mm fork. I've realized majority of my riding doesn't need that much suspension, and I care a little more about getting to the top faster (I'm in Spokane, WA). If sb100 isn't really any faster than the 130, than I may just upgrade to that. With the occasional travel to whistler, sedona, flagstaff, southern utah, would the two bikes be ideal combo? Clearly you are more skilled than me, you're hitting drops and some techy, that are above me. I'm considering both 130 and 100 unless the 100 doesn't really offer much advantage. Hope this makes sense and I realize there is a lot of opinion on the matter, but since you're one of the few people who've ridden both bikes on the same trails, I thought I'd ask. Thanks
Absolutely! But I think a stronger case can be made for the 150/100 combo. I feel the 100 touches a whole separate category or rowdy XC/Trail riding whereas the 130 is going to fill the niche of double black chunk mixed with some intermediate tracks. The 150 opens the door to more comfortable riding on the most difficult terrain plus long days at the park. I like that components would be more readily interchangeable between the 100 and 130 which I like. I think both bikes would do well together in a fleet. Thanks David.
Nice that they didn't go with super short stays! The only thing I don't get about this bike is that Yetis pedal so well, I'd be hard pressed to go with 100mm of travel over 130. I suppose if I lived somewhere with less chunk, it would be a great ride.
Exactly, if you are riding lots of drops and dedicated downhill the SB130 is more of that "all mountain" vs. the SB100. If you're Nate Hills you can win races on either the SB100 and 130, because he's that good of a rider. I personally found the SB100 to be really fun, but I'd make some component changes to get it up closer to par with the 130.

I haven’t been able ride the Yeti however. I would describe my desire as this: a trail bike that has some xc in it. I’m not a big hitter but a expert rider with preference towards longer rides. I’ve raced xc and endurance for 20 years at expert level / cat 2. But have havent done so in 7 years. I still have my 2012 Epic. I love the bike but I want something more comfortable and forgiving. Other suggestions welcomed.
Thanks John! The Trek Fuel EX is definitely going to be a more plush downhill ride and probably more versatile for all around trail use. The SB100 is going to be generally more solid for pedal pushing and long days. If long rides on blue terrain is your jam, the SB100 is probably going to fill that role. If you are going with some shorter loops and perhaps some ambitious riding, the Trek might be the right choice. Perhaps if you can get a chance to demo both on an identical ride might better help. I wouldn't rule out a Pivot Trail 429 (I get the Trail part mixed up) either, that's a solid bike too.

haha Moore Fun is brutal! It not too sketchy, just difficult in every way! But seriously, the longer travel bike give you the forgiveness you need, which sometimes is the difference between riding the bike or going over the bars. What's kind of crazy is some of these short travel bikes are delivering near performance as previous generations mid/long travel models thanks to suspension technology!
I solved the problem on my SB6 with a wheels threaded bb, but I will say this, i have yet to to find a non creaky full suspension bike, I wish I could find one!

I going to come down to terrain, my Insurgent is pretty creaky, but we have a lot of fine dust and sand between Fruita and Moab, I kind of like to give bikes the #s of bearing test, the more bearing a bike has the more likely it is to have a creak! 😆

Looks like an x1 not x01 crankset. If this bike was aiming for the 'trail' rider, I don't understand why they went so short with it. A little longer front-center seems it would be more forgiving on the downhill, without much sacrifice to speed or handling.

My Haro is a great bike and normal people can actually afford it. I understand that Ruby Canon gives you free stuff but you should make some videos on bikes the other 99.5 percent of people can get. Anyway I just found your friend Kyle's channel and that guy is nuts. Do you think you will come out to the front range to ride? The trails have been really dry this year so if you wanted to try out some real Colorado single track, now would be a great time. Honestly I like your drone videos maybe you could just make this a drone video channel? I have a friend who has a Parrot drone and that thing is so cool. When I start making my videos I am going to include so much drone video. I bet I know what your next video will be about.....Yeti?
You just have to remember this, the best bike is the one you have! Be careful flying drones around lots of laws especially on the Front Range, we don't want you breaking any of those cause the penalties are real rough!

How do you think it would work with a 130 pike for New England trails. Lots of short quick technicals climbs with some jumps and drops mixed in.

Yes it did, but i couldn’t fairly criticize the creak since demo bikes are usually knowingly mistreated. Probably from the PF bb
