I am not sure if anyone answered you yet, but I believe he was 17 when this came out! Maybe 16-17 when it was recorded? You will definitely love his later music, both his solo work and with The Jacksons. Michael even talked about his frustration with singing this kind of music in his book, Moonwalk. He had such incredible musical instincts and was really held back at Motown. That's what led to he and his brothers splitting and going to Epic and writing/producing much of their own music!
This was his last album with Motown in 1975 which is the same year the group left Motown due to some conflict with Joseph Jackson and Motown records own Berry Gordy I think about money and then they was signed to epic records in mid 1976.
I grew up listening to Michael. I was a huge fangirl. i was one of the ones who wrote letters and sent him birthday cards on his birthday. So let me tell you that song "Dear Michael" felt personal when I first heard it. I just knew he was talking about me. LOL. But to be real. On a lot of his album songs back then, I never liked the background singers, They sounded too old and too generic to me. It was like they lacked soul. Especially, if you listened to a Jackson 5 or Jacksons album and heard the brothers harmonies. There were a few good songs on each album but personally, I always preferred the Jacksons albums even though I was a huge Michael fan. But listening to these Michael albums are bringing back a lot of memories though. I can't wait for the next album because this is where he becomes the Michael that most people know and love!!
ADD TO THE LIST The Jackson 5 Albums (1969 - 1975) The Jacksons Albums (1976 - 1989) Jackie Jackson Albums Tito Jackson Albums Jermaine Jackson Albums Marlon Jackson Albums Michael Jackson Albums Randy Jackson Albums Rebbie Jackson Albums LaToya Jackson Albums Janet Jackson Albums
One day in your life was recorded by Michael Jackson in 1975 for gis fourth studio forever Michael but it wasn't released as a single unit 6 years laterin 1981 because it didn't get the attention it deserves but Johnny Mathis covered the song a year later in 1977
All these songs sound the same, like all his early 'solo' albums, all reeled off money making albums with one or 2 hits. I bet ya Michael wasnt even asked to do these, he was told. They were working their gold ticket for easy money. Thankfully, he stood up to motown and got out around 76. Thats when he and his brothers were real and not pawns.
I'm only throwing this at you because you're experimenting and had previously sought feedback... - the Heydey is not a very good mic; if you're going to use it then it absolutely needs a foam or a screen. Way too many poofs and sibilants. It will also work better in a stationary position with your head generally staying still. - the Audio Technica AT2035 would really up your sound game for minimal investment. A Blue Yeti would also be a significant boost if you have to stick with a USB connection. - I might have missed why we never see the videos you're reacting to, but they're missed. Lots of free software out there at the other end of Google to edit the window into things. - We know your attention span for songs is brief. Keep that in mind for us. A one-song reaction in a 9-12 minute video is LOTS. Being 41 minutes long just means that 95% of your potential viewers will pass on by because they don't have or won't spare the time. Leave us wanting more. We do.
He was only 16 when this album was released, but he may had still been 15 when it was recorded ❤
It was like they were preparing the listeners to what was about to happen.
Not all of the songs on the previous albums, or on the Jackson 5 albums, were covers
They were written by other people though, they didn't write or produce anything until they moved to Epic Records in like 77
@@brandonmitchell5867that doesn’t make them covers, that’s not how that works
@ I know, sorry, I just thought about saying that in case he doesn't know and reads it
@ okay
cant wait for off the wall
Please tell me you are also going to react to The Jackson 5 albums (1969-1976) and then The Jacksons (1977-1984) 🙏🙏
Too many people ignore them and they’re full of gems
@ I swear 😭 especially The Jacksons
Wrong it's been the Jackson 5 (1966-1975) then it was the jacksons (1976-1989)
They changed to the jacksons in 1976 and signed to epic records and released an album
@ whatever you got the point, besides, Michael isn't even part of the 2300 album (outside of 2 lines and a few adlibs toward the end of title track)
Adoro. Michael pra. Sempre. 🎉
You look like one of those film students analyzing a film they really like 😂
LOLLLL
Michael. Love. ❤

Just an opinion....please go back to your old way without the microphone and earbuds. It feels odd watching you this way.
