A tip to help you out; When Tanner hides in the closet, just wait him out till he leaves. Leave every closet door open, because if one happens to close, youll know he´s there. Also if you see tanners jumpscare on the cams, it doesnt mean anything its just meant to be a distraction. Like so he sees this!

the chance of a serial killer finding you is so low... so why would you be afraid of leaving them open? i have had 3 attempted break ins so far and still leave them open when i am home

That strikes me as bad game design. The option to lock/unlock the windows should automatically come up in the UI when you close them. But then maybe that unclear mechanic and the wonky door opening system are done on purpose to artificially create 'challenge' but that's a cheezy way to do it. I agree that the mechanics should be flawless in any horror game, not borrowing from "I Am Bread"

Tips:
*Close and Lock all the windows.
*Leave all the closets open, if one is closed then Tanner is inside.
*Leave the lights on in the rooms, and check them periodically to make sure they haven't gone out.
*If the lights in a room have been out, double check the windows. Unlock and relock them as they can be faulty as read in the one message on the computer.
*Check the cameras periodically for Tanner. If you see him then shine the light directly on his face, if you miss he will get inside.
*If you see Tanner peek around a corner, don't go into the room and instead go hide in a closet for 30 - 45 seconds or until you hear footsteps walk away. This means he will have left.
*Before filing the last report for the night, make sure the lights are on in the rooms and windows are closed and locked.
*Keep the different tools open, and copy and paste to speed up searches for the Bolos.

No, I had to pause the video for a hot minute before going back to re-watch the scene.
TIPS
1. This hasn't been officially confirmed, but there's a rumour floating around that the aeroplane indicates that your window is being opened. Of course, it hasn't been confirmed, but keep it in mind.
2. You've been CLOSING your windows, but you haven't been LOCKING them. If they aren't closed, it will be FAR easier for the kidnapper to break into your house. To lock them, click the silver lock on top of the window (or right click, I believe. You'll hear a click when they're closed). ALL WINDOWS.
3. Keep all lights on at all times. If they aren't on, the kidnapper will break into your house far easier.
4. You need to check your cameras frequently. Preferably in between reading and sorting out reports. Whenever you see the doctor in the cameras, flash your lights at him until he leaves. His jumpscares don't do much, but they indicate that he's trying to get in.
5. If you are in the situation where you know the doctor, aka Tanner, is in your closet (the small room behind you), wait him out; preferably in a separate room. Do NOT use your computer while he's in the house, as he WILL kill you.
6. Can't emphasize this any more. Frequently get up and look around your house to ensure windows are closed and lights are on.
7. It's recommended that you have all the programs on your screen for easy access. You'll get through cases much faster. (from FLOSSY AUSSIE)
8. If you know Tanner is in the closet, do NOT open the closet, he will kill you. (from Amodh1257 Playz)
9. Some really useful info was left in the comments by Nevamis! Not hard to find at all, so please look.
10. Keep the closets open at all times! If they're closed, Tanner is inside. If you know Tanner is in the closet, hide in the backroom closet (the very first room). (Nevamis and Detyray)

and don't forget igp needs to have all the programs up to make things easier to access and get through the cases faster
As shown in 8-bit Ryans playthrough, Tanner won't kill you if he's in the closet and you're on the computer, he will kill you however if you open said closet, just ignore the man doing whatever he does in there and eventually he'll leave. He's just a bit shy ;)
@@Amodh1257 What if he knows Tanner is in the closet and he goes back to the computer, then when he gets back up again Tanner will pop up? I've seen that happen before. Still, not sure. Can you confirm?
For every 2 lmb clicks on the computer that are separated by 4 seconds, there's a possibility that tanner will spawn in. The possibility goes up for every night. So using mmb is by far the best way for selecting things on the computer and moving things around. Except for the text boxes. Night ten on normal difficulty is nightmare difficulty in one night.
The kidnapper will check for windows and lights. If a window is open, he will climb through and get you. If a room has no lights on, he will attempt to lockpick it. On earlier nights, this isn't much of an issue. But the further on you progress, you WILL HAVE TO CHECK ALL ROOMS to see if they are darkened or have windows unlocked/open.
Yeah, if tanner gets in, hide in closet and wait for foot steps.
Later nights, if the kidnapper was at the house, you have less time before he shows up again. If he wasn't there, you have more time to use. You may have to wait until a light goes out so you can turn it back on and progress safely. It is very risky to not check rooms everytime. I only know for sure that on night ten, if the kidnapper was there, you have around 30 seconds (depending on when he showed up) to use. If he is not there, then you have 45 seconds to use. There's an in-game clock for these.
Pretty much you've said all of the important things. Oh and also, night ten, every click has a 60% chance to spawn tanner. So almost guaranteed.

I got this from 2 speedruns. If you search up speedruns for this game on yt, there should be one for 1:43.01 (i think) on normal difficulty. He's the one i suggest getting some game knowledge from. He explains quite a lot. I forgot his channel name so yeah. Last time i checked he had under 1k subs
The plane sounds (and car sounds) mean nothing. There are no sound cues in this game. Despite what wttg might have taught you.
Keep all lights on and actually LOCK the windows just closing them isn’t enough, and constantly make sure the other rooms in the house has their lights on!

For the kidnapper:
- Close and lock all your windows, the window is locked when the lock hinge is to the right (all the controls are shown at the menu for how to lock the window, stuff like that if you're wondering.)
- Make sure that all the lights in your house are all on! If the light is off in a certain room, the kidnapper is going to try and open the window to get inside, that's why you should check the windows if the light in that room are turned off. You don't need to worry about the windows in rooms where the lights are still on. You can't really tell when the lights go out in what room, so I suggest you just checking the house from time to time. Don't worry about the bathroom there are no windows there.
- Make sure the lights are all on in every room before you submit your last report! If there's a light out in any room and you submit your last report, the kidnapper will get you while you're sleeping!
For the doctor
- Check the cameras more frequently
- Don't hold the light when looking at your cameras for too long or the power will go out. Short little flashes are good.
- When he jumps in front of the camera, it doesn't mean that he's inside your house.
- You can miss him in the camera while you're checking the house, so be careful.
- Do not open the closet when he's in there, that way you won't get a game over. You can safely use the computer while he's there. He will leave after some time and will be back outside, you'll spot him in cameras.

IGP is the best horror game reactor because he doesn't try to act all stoic and unafraid like most do, he's fully willing to completely freak out and scream like a little girl then post it on the internet and when you think about it that's real bravery.
Anyway if you're interested you should try Amberskull, it's an indi survival horror game with multiple specific scenarios each set in a different environment.

Home invasion games are really scary for me too, its probably because it one of the most real kind of horror games.
I guess home invasion is scary, for me it would depend on the situation. Not saying i would be stoic about it, i would definitely be intense and have adrenaline pumping

Generally, when IGP plays scary games I'm never really scared, just invested. The only time I'm spooked is when IGP screams. It always scares the CRAP out of me because his screams are so violently genuinely loud and makes me flinch most of the time. 13:05 is a good example.

Some tips:
DO NOT TURN OFF THE LIGHTS,they "defend" you from the Russian kidnapper.
Lock every window,I think you need to press right click to do so.
If you hear ANYTHING suspicious,not sure about vehicles,check every room for turned off lights and unlocked windows.
As for The doctor guy,Tanner,you should check your cameras every minute or so,if you see ANY open/closed doors that you don't remember opening/closing,that means he is already in the house,at this point you need to hide and wait for about a minute for him to go away,I think you can hide in front of the sofa next to the computer.
Don't overthink reports,they are really simple actually,as soon as you have the required amount of evidence don't hesitate and finish with the report.
You can open/close curtains on windows by pressing mouse wheel I think.
That is pretty much it....
I just wish that for every successful night, the detective gets to fix one of the faulty parts of the house (like the window, internet, busty fuse, etc.) I mean, girl, with all dem hardwork that you did, don’t you deserve, like, some fixing of your house?

Lock windows, make sure all lights are constantly on, open all closets, middle mouse button to peek windows, and check cameras frequently. The bald man can get in if a light is off. The other guy hides in closets when he gets in, he will not get in if you check cameras and scare him off with the light.
It's not too often I jump at jump scares on a TH-cam video, but that moment right at the end is definitely one of those moments.

I don't scare easily. Horror games only really get me if I'm the one playing them. This shit had me turning on my phone flashlight, looking over my shoulder and walking all stupid up the stairs w my back against the wall, like I would when I was a kid. Also, I really really like how organized you are with the in-game desktop. Thanks for that

This game is very well made, it soothes my craving for more Signal Simulator content because it gives that creep-aspect but balances it well with fun gameplay

Here's some tips to help you: You can lock closed windows with right click. Using the light on the security cameras too much will cause the power to go out. The bald guy can get in through the windows of any room that has the lights off, even if the window is locked. Use the camera lights to scare off the guy in the suit when you see him. If the guy in the suit gets in the house, you can hide in the closet with the modem for about 30 seconds, at which point he may have left. If the closet door behind the computer desk is open, the guy in the suit is in it, so keep it open at all times. The red icon in the top right with the thumbs down is how many incorrect reports you've submitted. They don't clear when you move onto the next night and you get a game over if you get too many. The night ends at 4:00am. If you haven't submitted enough reports by then, you fail. You can immediately end the night if you get all of the required and bonus quotas. Be sure to listen out for sound queues. Some times you may have to flip a light switch multiple times in order for it to turn back on. Use copy-paste to fill in information faster. Be sure to check the cameras regularly.
