Hello Kevy!! Great video as Always!! I've been watching your videos for about a year and find you very informative and its good to see there are still Gentleman who always speak positive. I live in the States. Connecticut in fact. Keep making those videos Brother and I'll keep watching and liking. 💈
Rain in the highlands, who could believe it. I bet it was magnificent, very jealous. The wig makers hands are still steady, excellent job. Top notch products all round. Hope you and the family are well and staying safe.
Hi Kevy- Great shave and soap review; thank you! I usually use the D plate with the Karve CB SS razor, but also rotate with the C plate. I hope you are well! Take good care and best regards, as always, Kevy!
Nice shave Kevy, aye I've used this soap, slickness is a bit less than desired but enough, the cushion is superb. They have a post shave water gel (mentholated), I can send you it if you like, leaves a grwat post shave feel. I've spoken to the producer, as they make bath soaps as well, amazing scents I've suggested they put into shave soaps. They have an Aventus scented soap and the old sweetie, Fruit Salad scented soap. You know how popular Aventus is!
I bought the Karve CB, SS about 7 months ago. I wanted very badly to like it because its a beautiful looking well made razor but i could never get a satisfying shave from it. Tried different plates and blades but ended up going back to my razorock GC. Anyway, enjoyed your video as always. Have a great day!
I’d have to agree as I’ve been having trouble with irritation. Got the C plate and it was too aggressive and I then bought the B plate. The B plate was a little improvement but I’m thinking the angle I’m using is a little off. Heard the angle is similar to the Feather AS-D2 at around 40-45°
I do like this razor Kevy. Have used plate C previously and plate B today in a head to head shave between this and my Blackbird (I emailed you the results). Yet to try plate D which seems pretty aggressive at •98. The Blackbird got me a bit closer I think but can't get proper continuous strokes under chin in a head to head. Just edge to centre. The Karve stainless is very smooth though. Another great shave video from you. Stay safe Sir, Dave.
Kevy, great timing on the video! I just received the stainless Karve in the mail today. I haven't even had time to try it yet. I went with the widebody cap to cover those tabs. 👍 Great shave!
I’m a little late to the party but I just got my Karve in the mail and haven’t had a chance to use it. I got the stainless 3” with the C plate. I should’ve gotten the wide body cap though, I’ll have to pick that up. Looks good sitting next to my Feather AS-D2…Nice looking razor!
Great shave. I recently got the Southern Witchcrafts soap to try after finishing No Shave November. I’m doing No Shave November just like every year. I hope to survive it, but doing that challenge makes me miss the joys of wet shaving. When it’s over, I’ll get back to it better and stronger than ever. Being a fan of lime scents, this soap could be for me
Nice shave Kevy. Hope you are all keeping well. It's a fantastic razor the Karve. I got the daily shavers kit from them back in March (which comes with B, C, D plates). I had been eying up some of their open comb plates for a while, so a few weeks ago I order B, C, D in open comb (these were the first open combs I had used). Things I noticed with the open comb over the safety bar plates: 1: You can feel more blade, but not in an uncomfortable way and it was just as smooth as the safety bar plates. 2: The soap flows through the combs, meaning that you have some soap left on that part of your face to go back over, whereas a safety bar would remove more soap due to it been solid. 3: I found it more efficient and I had a closer shave, and also I found it easier to get those leftover whiskers that usually take a bit of getting off. All in all I'm super impressed with the open combs.
Glad you liked! It goes well with Acqua Di Parma in the post shave, recommend! To me the soap had a spiced scent as well maybe I'm wrong, I did have the virus months ago and my sense of smell has been all over the place haha.
Hey Kevy, I've got the brass Karve and really like the OC B plate. Also have the C plate but find it a little less smooth for me. My wife and I have walked the Great Glen Way in the Highlands and actually had a couple days of summer there. We have a friend who lives in Paisley (for her sins) and will be back after the pandemic to enjoy your lovely country. I did vote and hope for change.
Thanks for the video. I just started using the Rapira blades and have been getting good results. Maybe you Scots could send some of that rain to the West Coast of the US, we sure could use it; gettin, tired of the fires. Take care and all the best!
Welcome back from the rainy hill country. As always I enjoyed the shave and it uploaded in perfect time. Was able to sneak away from the election drab 😂 on TV. Daughter & wife into CNN, me not so much! In fact was searching for new stuff without them knowing he, he. Favorite plate G, yes aggressive but I can’t really feel it. Used R41 prior to CB razor. Very good razor. Hope to see you soon!
How does the Karve (A - B) shave compared to the Feather AS-D2 in your opinion? I'm intrigued by the Karve, it looks beautiful! Is the blade overhang a problem? Thanks
I think the Karve shaves better than the AS-D2. Also, you have more options as you can buy different plates. Overhang shouldn't be a problem with the Karve as you can buy wideboy top caps that cover the entire blade. Cheers. Kevy
@@kevyshaves4109 the Feather AS-D2 is my daily driver and it seems the B plate is still a little aggressive for me. I’ve heard that the Karve angle is similar to the Feather… do you agree or am I just using too much pressure perhaps? Any advice would be greatly appreciated Kevy
